Your hygrometer is measuring the dryness of the desiccant and not the AMS itself. It's still an indicator but maybe not what you were thinking. I've personally overloaded on desiccant with similar front mounted desiccant boxes, rear tray desiccant boxes and spool weights/desiccant containers and my AMS is constantly showing a dryness of 1. Overkill? Probably, but no moisture issues either.
I use the same "food" dehydrator that I use to refresh my filament rolls... basically anything with sustained (not too high) heat will cause the moisture to evaporate out of desiccant which, like filament, causes it to "refresh" and work properly again.
Interesting! I printed the same boxes but just put desiccant packs in them to add to the bambu stock positions. I did not think of silica beads. Would be interested to know how they worked long term for you and your print quality.
I made the mistake of leaving the lid open on the AMS for a few days and they jumped up to 23%. I'll be doing a video this week showing the color they changed to and swapping them out. Stay tuned... :)
@@pvic6959 The beads are lasting about 2 months before I have to replace/dry them. I've never had a hygrometer in the AMS before so not sure how long the original packs lasted.

You can print desiccant boxes for the spots where you took out the envelopes. Just adds more drying capacity.
Great idea!
Looks great man, gonna give it a try too! Thanks for sharing and hope you get some love in the Bambu maker store!
Thanks, I didn't design the boxes, but put a link in the description to them for everyone to give the maker some props. :)
you can put the stuff from the packs in a toaster oven and they replenish.
Thanks, gonna give that a shot!!!
