DO NOT BUY NBA 2K25 UNTIL ITS PATCHED.
• MyCareer feels so clunky & unfinished.
• Driving to the paint after a screen looks like the game is trying to decide which animation it chooses, so it makes your player slow or run into a invisible wall so the CPU can catch up.
• Animations randomly speed up or slow down depending on if the defender is near.
• CPU Teammates are more useless this year than last year & now the consistently miss wide open shots
• They still cut in front or behind you when you shoot instead of away from you to crash the boards.
• CPU opponent makes EVERYTHING (Ben Simmons made a HEAVILY CONTESTED fadeaway 3pter LOL)
• You have even less control in MC so now you can only choose half court or full court defense. No other adjustments.
• I've noticed progress to 99 is faster but it cost even more to upgrade your player (go figure lol)
• MyGM has useless plots that go nowhere & repeat every season.
• Shot Clock Cheese is worse than it was in 2k16 and that says ALOT
• MC Rotations are broken so you'll play all game but your fatigue is low this year and tied to the gatorade arena so you HAVE to max each workout to get your full 99 stamina.
• You'll miss a lot of shots due to low stamina.
• The game will deliberately pull you away from the basket when driving to try for a layup, just so a defender can block it or forcing you to shoot a midrange shot.

Another issue is the stolen passes. Any pass that is anywhere close to a defender (regardless of their steal) it is getting madden 20 user lurked

Mr Wang needs to go away. The game is full of bugs and at this point its a interception simulator. I have a team that last year had 90% win rate. Today we lost to some people in the Rec and Proving Ground to 40 point and 30 steals, with one guy getting 15 steals... Where is the realism? I would prefer an arcade game that works. My point guard was terrorised, we all was. You cant throw a pass without being intercepted. I don't know bro maybe I m to old, but games used to be fun, now after a 5h of playing 2k25, I feel like I went to work, I m sweety and very tired...

@@johnmitchell8254 I been making a glass cleaning type big every 2k. This year it feels good to really outpace other bigs on offensive boards. The passing this year is brutal though. So you can’t slide with 70s outlet passes. That damn thing takes three business days to get down court.

nobody should shoot from half court but nobody wants to play realistic. that’s what real life basketball is for.
Its a video game, play irl basketball if you want “realism.” Games are supposed to be fun, it’s about the difficulty vs reward. Shot timing that requires skill like it does now has to be rewarding, otherwise nobody would want to do it. it’s why every 2k where shooting sucks is full of rim runners.
If they wanna make it “realistic” where guys are shooting 35% from three on average, then just lock it to real player % and call it a day.
People would hate realistic 2k. You’d miss more of the perimeter shots than you take, and interior defense would be non existent because in real life once a guy has a run at the paint you’ve already essentially given up a basket.
It's literally a video game. I'm mad we can't get 100-104 type games in the rec. It's way too many wide open shots being missed just bc the game want to cap scoring

I think it’s cool that they made shooting harder but this is too much, when i’m in proving grounds i literally leave people open (even shooting builds) because i know that they can hit max 3 shots before eventually missing. It’s cool to make the game more skillful but u can’t cut out 90% of the player base from being able to hit a shot.
Whats harder about a game forcing u to miss? where is the skill in the game choosing when u get a green window they need to change it back to how it was on 24

Well more like the timing because both shooting and lay ups are messed up even the dunk meter is hard to time. Offense is chalked this year hopefully they patch it up

@@aklm6146it’s gotta be a bug, cuz I’ll have games where I go lights out, then the next, I know for a fact I’m at least 75% on my timing, and I shoot nothing but bricks, with 95 three ball. I actually noticed things got wackier when I maxed out my stat. Like I feel like there’s no way all the attributes are working as they’re supposed to atm.

The gameplay feels a bit heavier and slow down. But at the same time it feels better. Shooting online is a struggle but honestly I hope they leave it alone and just fix the layups

I have to use the meter. The shot cues are too inconsistent and there are too many different type of shots you shoot throughout a game to be able to green each one. I remember back in the day the release point was at the top of the jump which I think it should be. I use Normal Risk and the arrow meter and I been killing ever since in Play Now online. Mind you I was just about to return this shit to Amazon frfr😂.
They made Jumpshots so complicating & it gets worse every year. It should be as simple as learning the jumpshot you made or have equipped. Higher your attribute should been bigger green window & badges should add a small boost. Instead they want you to go under a percentage which means you are going to miss even if you time it right.

One thing I’ve noticed that’s frustrating: in the test a build feature they don’t tell you or allow you to change the difficulty. The difficulty is cleary pro or rookie. Also, you dont know or get to choose the shot profile which is probably difficulty based. With the low difficulty you will shoot fire in the test mode but inconsistently in the real mycareer game mode.
I also noticed that shooting in regular offline game modes is totally different than online. Obviously latency exists but I make way more shots on HOF in MyGM than in mycareer. This doesn’t make any sense. I literally can hit consistently with a 70 3ball in mygm on HOF but mycareer i can barely hit with an 85. It’s ridiculous and inconsistent. I’ve literally done tests with players with no shooting badges and hit better than my career later. It’s ridiculous
Fam… You change them in the features tab and it applies to the whole game excluding Mycareer outside the build tester.

If you go layup build you might have to go high risk reward timing. You'll make a lot more in traffic. Mine is a 93 and almost nobody can stop me unless they get a block. I did have to adjust to greening consistently, tho because you're for sure gonna miss if you don't.
People complaining about the shooting is crazy and in competitive mode the shots should be harder to hit so the percentages should be lower

Game is lowkey ass (rn), shooting is a pray to miss fest, everyone is a two-way, dribbling feels uncontrollable, no build has a weakness if ur smart enough in the builder, shooting has 5 different settings which is ridiculous and overwhelming, the contest system doesn’t work.
Basically the same complaints as last year…..that’s why I didn’t buy. I knew it would be the same.

Takeovers doesn't get activated for most people cause they haven't even unlocked level 5 take. For bigs it's easier to get takeover in the park
i’m still highly critical of this game but in comparison to a lot of the previous games for some of the complaints you’ve made i’m going to have to call it a skill issue early on all those things are difficult so you have to keep playing and find ways to score the rats have nowhere to hide this year with speed boosting

Everything Rease complained about his builds was him forcing plays, and getting stopped. People spent money on their builds, just because you put your stat to 99 doesnt mean you can force situations and win every time. Where is the counterplay in that? Where is the defense if you have 99 stat in all offense or vise versa. It makes sense if their rating is crazy low like 40 and lower, or even 50 and lower. But if i have a 78 block, and have silver chase down, just because you have legend mix layup master or whatever its called shouldnt mean 100% of the time you should hit a Euro on me… there is counter play, if i play the Euro step the exact side i need to be at to force a stop, then i should be able to stop it once in a while. But Rease was literally forcing bad plays and thinking it should work against people with like high 70 and 80 ratings and higher lol. Wasnt even trying to cook them, just straight bullying and got swatted every time lol, so that wasnt a fair assessment of 2k25 imo in that aspect.

Even with 99 you gotta outplay people unless they dont belong there guarding you like a 7’0” 268lb center backing down a 5’10” 178lb pg. This did was driving into the chest of people with high interior and high block ratings… he would get push off animations but then get chased down and blocked. Its because he was relying all on one animation to win the battle. If your ankle breaker dont drop the person guarding you, there is still a chance for the defender to get back and make a contest. Yall just need to play better and stop waiting for the game to do everything for you.
I don't know why but i'm preatty consistent in layups. I green them almost every time (I play on high risk on them too). Most of the time the only way to stop me is to block me
I’m so glad about the defense this year and that they took flopping out and I love that shooting is way harder. You have to use rhythm shooting to be really consistent.

Mike wang is the reason why NBA2k won’t evolve. His philosophy is to continually layer the game year to year without making significant changes.
This is why the city isn’t leaving, this is why the same bugs show up at launch, this is why the game feels the same after a month and this is why this game is not worth my time. You can’t really even enjoy it at a discount because of the grinding (time) it takes to level up
That’s exactly why I made my build from last year , fuck them legend badges my silver and gold work just as fine
I have always been a layup guy. Let me give you some tips. First.. you have to learn the layup timing without the meter. Play street all to practice. Second put it on high risk. Gives to the opportunity to make every contested layup. And third.. learn your animations and angles that trigger at different points. Fourth only use the shot stick and make sure you’re using the right lay at the right time. I’ve been doing this since layup timing was introduced and my friends are marveled at the layups I make. Open or tight. Hope these help. As for shooting, make your jump shot with timing stability as high as possible. The inconsistency is due to shot timing variation. I shoot about 43% in the rec.

Shooting is so weird this year, like I’ll time my shot perfectly, I know for I fact I timed it perfectly, and yet all I’ll be shooting are bricks. Like I can see the que, I know I’m releasing it at the same point every time, and when I fuck I up I can tell, and yet it’s brick after brick after brick, with a 95 3 ball lmao.
If they wanted the shot percentages to be realistic then just bring back the OG shooting like pre 2k15 days. 2k25 just feels like it’s gaslighting me the whole time. Can’t trust my own damn muscle memory.
Other than that I actually like the game, it’s just, I made a shooting build, I’ve been a lights out shooter in 2k for years, I should be able to shoot the damn ball

I've bought 2k every year since 2k16, up until this year. There just wasn't enough to excite me to make me think that 2k25 wasn't just a 2k24 update, to either polish things they introduced in 2k24, to remove things that shouldn't have been in 2k24, or to bring back things that shouldn't have been removed from past 2ks. I hated 2k24 and stopped playing after a month. There was no way I was going to buy 2k25 with the mindset I had about 2k25. And from all the videos I've seen of content creators, I really don't see or hear that there's much of a difference between the two.
2k25 is much different than 24 but you need to play it to understand

I been in the gym and learning I had my layups on normal risk and real player % for layups for 2k25.. shooting I like feel 2k24 shooting was hard too time but once I found my jump shot now in 2k25 that I like and I love that everyone can’t shoot but I seen guys go off in this game, even me in rec I want 8 for 12 set shot is the best this year

The reason I won't be buying this game is because I don't play online. I like the dynasty mode. I'm a huge knicks fan and I like to make moves and trades to get a championship. Nobody talks about this aspect of the game. So 2k24 is enough for me.
My first bill has no interior defense if anyone shoots a layup on me it goes in 99% of the time no matter how good of a defensive position I'm in I'm not complaining I actually respect it
All I can say is if you’re a guard, put layup to 80 and get the Trae Young package, then turn timing to Real Player % (works online for layups only) you’ll make some insane stupid layups that create separation.

As a my career player I like this 2k it reminds me a lil bit of 2k16 and that’s my favorite 2k next to 2k11 and 13 my last 2k was 22 so this a upgrade for me

Realest review I seen
I've been trying to tell folks that 2K purposely keeps you at a certain shooting %. They started this in 2k24 and Its even worse this year. I was shooting 70+ % through the first 40 games. All of a sudden i just started missing most shots no matter how open i was and it dropped me to a 62%. Now i am able to shoot again lol. Guarantee 2k will forceably bring me down to the 50s before the week is out.
I don't think there's a script for shooting man. I think the different areas that you play in have different latencies. The problem really lies in the fact that the servers are trash and the game doesn't show us what our ping is. If you're really paying attention to it you can see that the input delay is different from time to time.
@@xorphz you are correct but I believe its a different issue than what I originally posted. The servers have been bad since 2k21 and have been adjusting to delay till this day. The shooting percentage aspect, to me, is a separate issue.
@@mlo356 There are pro players shooting 60-70% in Park so I don't think it's built into the game, but maybe you're right and they would be shooting 80% without it. There does seem to be something that randomly causes people who hit everything normally to randomly have a 2/7 type game. What that is, I don't know.
