Nomura is one hell of a scary man with how much power he holds.
KH1 to this day has the most small detail of any game. From all the mini puzzles like the clocktower gifts and stuff like the weight on the scale, to mind blowing stuff like this. It's why the first is my favorite (along with the very dark pre-final mix aesthetic, so fucking beautiful)
If you watch the beta trailer for the original 2002 game, some phrases towards the end seem to hint the end of KH3. I wonder if in some ways, Nomura's just getting started with his plan.

Speaking as a Nintendo Switch owner, I’m bummed that the actual games aren’t on the platform, but at the same time I’m still excited for this game because the music of Kingdom Hearts is god-tier, it looks like a well made unique rhythm game, and we are getting at least some kind of story out of it.
From all the trailers so far this looks far from the lazy shill that many are accusing it as, as well as extremely far from KH2 Atlantica: The Game. This appears to take a page out of the Theatrhythm Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest games with its different type of music stages, item system, and it being a celebration of Kingdom Hearts as a whole through its music.
So yes I do hope someday the Switch will get the main games some day, but for now as a KH fan, a fan of video game music, a fan of Kingdom Hearts music, and one who has a soft spot for rhythm games, I’m psyched for Melody of Memory. November can’t come soon enough. Also as a fan of Super Smash Bros, maybe November and the release of Melody of Memory can coincide with the announcement of Sora for Smash, hmm?
They do have some of the cutscenes of the other games in the Museum at least for Switch owners to understand some of it
I’m sure they’ll get around to it. Xbox got 3 before the compilation of the other games, so I wouldn’t say there’s no chance
I think Switch owners should feel greatful they have the advantage of listening to all the music where ever and whenever they like.
Chaos_Knight Given the likes of Mario Odyssey and Smash Ultimate that have music players, yeah I feel foolish for just remembering now with MoM’s own music player the Switch owners do have that extra incentive too.
Also just to get out of the way replying to other comments: Yes of course this is coming to Switch but is still jarring considering the other games aren’t out yet. I have played all the other games in their original releases growing up, but haven’t played KH3 because I don’t own or have borrowed a PS4 or X1. At the very least I watched gameplay and kept up with the story, so there’s that, and it would be great to have KH3 on the Switch someday but am aware of some of the possibile difficulties of porting. 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 on Switch should by now at least be definite.
It must happen before the end of the Switch life cycle!

The past worlds all look so immersive. The series has run the gamut in terms of aesthetic moods, so it really pleases me that they've not only been thoroughly compiled, but also been granted this vast, endless runner quality to them. I can tell that while I'm not pulling my hair out trying to get the timing right, that I'll be lost in the flow of this nostalgic scenery

I suspect they got Hayden back as the VA for Kairi. In KH3, they used the VA for Xion, who had doubled Kairi in some other side games. She does alright as Xion, but can't voice Kairi as well as the original.

@@nathanevans1382 Well, it's the difference between listening to the soundtrack on your console or Switch-where you have to launch the game to access it-and listening to the music on your PC, in your car, or on your phone (if you ripped the CD or bought digital). There's a lot more versatility to it.
Also keep in mind that not every KH song will be in this game, though very many will be.

Plus, there's synthesis, multiplayer, and story mode. Unless I'm misinterpreting, there seems to be plenty to keep the player engaged.
I think a KH rhythm game is actually really fun to have. It just feels fresh to have a KH game where u don’t have to think too much and focus too much on the story. It’s a Simple and clean game, it’s refreshing.

I've never played a rhythm game in my life (Rock band sure, but you know what I mean) but I cant express how excited I am for this game. KH has been such a huge part of my life and I love the music. Calling it now there will be an extremely hard "secret boss" with Sephiroth's theme.

Originally I thought that was the machine mentioned in the "Ansem Reports" that churned out the artificial emblem heartless...then we saw the actual machine in action during the second visit to Trons world and there went that theory.
So I'm curious about what it is as well...but if I had to take a guess, it might be a prototype version of the same memory pod machine that Sora, Donald and Goofy slept in for a year in order to get their erased memories back.

On one hand, I've never been good at or even interested in rhythm games. On the other, every bit of music gives such a feeling of nostalgia and brings a smile to my face. Guess I better start training.
I’m doing everything I can to feel the rhythm in each song by listening to each KH song on UA-cam. It’ll help me prepare for winning Melody of Memory. Glad I have some rhythm in me!
As someone who loves FF Theatrythm, I'm so hyped for this game, especially for the new story part! And playable Roxas / Xion/ Axel is really the icing on the cake ! 😉

This makes me wonder if Kairi is a false person. Is she someone who is made of light and darkness? Was Kingdom Hearts really a place where u can control people's hearts and minds or was it a security guard set in the universe to make sure things that existed were allowed to actually exist. Is Sora fighting for his friends or is he fighting for the right for Kairi to live and exist? Is it Kairi's fault Sora has had to go thru this turmoil because he loves her? Is the darkness in people's hearts always existed, since when did it manifest into heartless? Someone or something upset the natural order of the universe, so the final conclusion to it.....is what is the final goal of this something or person that willed all of this to happen and what is the endgame?
A worthy speculation, but currently we have too little info on what's happening because there are no hints to anything off with Kairi, yet.
We still don't know what the pod is really used for. Let's wait for the next story update in KHuX before we speculate any further because that game is touching on the subject of that mysterious pod.

Multiple playable characters, co-op mode, online vs battles...would have been cool if the main series actually had these features.

They should just remake Unchained X/Union X and Dark Road for consoles at this point
@@maldon3659 It wouldn't be fun. It's barely any fun on mobile, in my opinion. My recommendation is to throw it all into cutscenes, maybe 3D animate it like Chi Backstory, and throw it into a 3.5 collection or something.
