    @Blndrfist Aikido is a martial art of self defense.What u learn in dojo is a variations of this art.U might not use everthing that u learned on the street.Few of this basic techniques r very useful but to master & understand it u need to learn variations of techniques(with patience) in this art & it takes 4-5 years to really used it on the street when it is needed.Whatever negative comments about it, i'm sure aikidoka will learn these:1)caution 2)distance 3)reflex 4)speed 5)stability & 6)timing.

    Really great the part of Kashima, it's not common that the aikidoka (people the practice aikido) give attention to kenjutsu and similar. I practice Katori Shinto Ryu in Palermo and i'm always really critic about people that use the sword, in this case i can say that he's great, and his movements, the cutting angles, the momentum are really perfect!
    Great Job!!!

    To all: martial arts in all styles works. It depends on the person's skill to use it in a right ways. I trained Kenpo, Shotokan Karate, Mui Thai, and Aikido. I also join MGA tournaments here in Hawaii. All I can say is that the people who criticizes other form of martial arts are no martial artist at all but just a bully. Inn all dojos tht I joined, they told me not 2 speak bad of other styles coz that's just undisciplined manner. To all the people who does that, they r either child or immature.

    It is the first kata of a set from the traditional Ken-Jutsu school Kashima-Shin-Ryu. This specific kata is called Kesa-giri and is mainly meant to practice this cut: Kesa-giri. It is not yet an application but merely the technical basis for the following kata within this style.

    Tissier is a Shihan. He's already growing in his practice and is going deeply in his study.
    Seagal NOW is an actor. His practice stopped 20 years ago.

    look carefully at the iriminage that occurs at 4:52 - freeze frame it at the moment when uke is airborne and tissier is throwing him by his head. this and countless other moments in this video alone that show that aikido is lethal, but it is PRACTICED as a cooperative dance (so as to avoid the fatalities and broken wrists that would otherwise occur on a daily basis).

    @syimang I wouldn't bother trying to argue a point with him and kommisar. I have been for the past few days. They're just to small minded to see our point. But, i agree with you, i've been doing it for 8 years and it has improved all of those things with me

    It does look like exam for him, and other "helpers" that took part in this show. I could tell which of them failed just because they moved, without permission from their Master (Sensei).
    I'm amazed, Christian Tissier have perfect moves, pure Mastery. I wonder, what kind of skills You must have, to achieve 10th Dan?

    In order to receive a 10th Dan , you must be martial art's Godfather from Japan. Or Create your own version of style, just like Gracie family did with Jujitsu. There4 they have 10th dan. No other way around from a mortal outside of Japan to get near the 9th.

    @purplesaxark good catch - that was badly misspoken by me..
    first of all, i meant 5:00-5:01, not 4:52, which shows nothing of what i'm speaking..
    secondly, what i meant was, "if you freeze frame it at the moment uke is airborne, when it appears that tissier is throwing him by his head, you can see the potential lethality of aikido."
    sorry for the garbled comment! for the record, i promise that i would NEVER describe iriminage in such terms :)

    btw. I don't think anybody can get better than TIssier or Seagal in the earlier days. ( watch some videos about him from those days if you're in doubt of what I mean ) Both are masters of the art. Stopped at the 7th Dan

    @kommisar don't you find it interesting that not everybody in the boxing world is a world class professional boxer? Boxers also train to fight in the ring not on the street. Strength, stamina and strategy training also make up a larger part of a boxers repertoire than simply throwing a punch.

  • @WayFinder42
    @WayFinder42 12 років тому

    There are a lot of techniques that could be used lethally, but if we were hurting our attacker anything more than what is necessary then it would no longer be Aikido, it would just be a malicious use of martial arts understanding. - watch?v=3xmbbtmPWXI - This Sensei teaches that we don't have to produce pain to create a manifestation of Aikido, and how wrist locks are really controlling attacks rather than harmonious movements. Check out his videos if you're interested.

    @Blndrfist I was in a 3rd kyu ranking when i involved in a car accident few years ago.That guy walked out swearing at me & point a finger right up my face.I used only 2 techniques, that was iriminage & tenchinage.Few of the bystanders stop the fight when i was in the middle of doing tenchinage to him.He got bruises & cut on his face(i do not know how & when he got that), it happens to fast but i'm sure he didn't even touch me!Aikido really works, believe me!I'm going to 2nd dan this year.

  • @TheGypsyking34
    @TheGypsyking34 14 років тому

    @kommisar Fine, i can't convince you. Aikido is just for intelligent, open-minded people that want to learn more than how to throw a punch, obviously you can't be one of those people.

  • @dojomania
    @dojomania 13 років тому

    aikido is rooted deeply in history.I don't doubt that boxing is effective, the punch of a boxer or Muaythai is a hundred times faster than the tsuki strike of aikido,and yes,that bothers me.However,Aikido uses all elements of the attacker,including clothing,see 4:52,he's throwing by the collar)sheathed and unsheathed sword,and is a highly accurate study of anatomy and the resultant momentum of an attack.Aikido is beautiful,but practitioner,do not be lulled into a false sense of security!

    @kommisar Like I said before, it is no point of showing off to u or anybody for that matter...whether u believe it or not...it's not my concern!I believe that the 'commotion' on the street few years ago makes me continously practiced 'Gaykido'(as u put it) until today!I never been in the 'ring competition' before & I do not know whether it works in a MMA, UFC etc. but in a real life situation?...Guess what!?haha..I suggest u go learn Aikido for few months than u can comment on youtube...ok?

  • @aikiwolfie
    @aikiwolfie 14 років тому

    @syimang 4 to 5 years? Really? But then you were 3rd kyu when you got in a fight and used Aikido and it worked? So it took you 4 years to get to 3rd kyu? Or are you fibbing a bit or just parroting what your teacher has told you about Aikido?
    I find it somewhat worrying that you think this way and are going to be 2nd dan. Do you expect Aikido to be as pretty on the street as it is in the dojo? If it doesn't have to be pretty and perfect why should it take 4 years to be useful?

  • @TheGypsyking34
    @TheGypsyking34 14 років тому

    @kommisar In fairness i agree with you on the fitness bit, boxing is better for you in that sense. But technically aikido isn't a "martial art" more "self defence". Please show me these "cheap carny tricks" since i fail to see them. Dancing?? that is the best you could think of?? Aikido is common fucking sense!! if a puuch is thrown at you, you don't stand there, you fucking move!!!

  • @syimang
    @syimang 13 років тому

    @Blndrfist hahaha..i don't care whether u believe me or not...that's not my problem. the main problem here is u never learn AIkido. U do not know & understand this art & u might never been in any real fight before..don't u?I have been in that situation & do not need to convinced anybody.If u say i'm a liar..I don't care as long as I trust myself & experienced it in a real fight.

  • @aikiwolfie
    @aikiwolfie 14 років тому

    @kommisar so can we assume then you're a boxer who's always in scraps on "the street"? Post up a video of you doing well in the ring or anywhere for that matter. Turning up on UA-cam swearing at everybody doesn't make your opinion valid.

    it looks impresive but the students are acting in the demostration.They let themselves offbalanced but help with their speed so they can perform a spin around their body and make the teacher look like a superman.I really love martial arts but all of this would'nt have any success in an (example) boxer.

      TU NON SAI NEACHE QUELLO CHE DICI IN PRIMIS QUELLO NON E' AIKIKEN M KASHMA SHINTO RYU E POI PRATICA IL SUO STUDIO E POI TI ASSICURO CHE NN PARLI COSì

    • @MrManuche

      Alla base dell aikido c'è il ken e il jo.....e questo non lo dice Mr Manuche.....perchè mettere in scena altri stili di spada in stage di aikido se O' Sensei a suo tempo studiò e codifico ciò che ora nell'aikido è il bukiwaza.....cioè: nell aikido la parte di armi esiste da sempre o meglio da quando O' Sensei aprì la scuola di IWAMA, Saito padre è stato l'allievo che ha fatto da ponte codificando ciò che era una pratica molto molto personale ( di UESHIBA) spirituale ed ermetica...questo studio è funzionale e legato all apprendimento del tai jutsu,le cose non sono slegate anzi...vedi nel kotekaeshi quanto c'è di suburi di ken e nello shionage quanto c'è di happo giri per fare un esempio semplice....la domanda è spontanea...perchè inserire altri stili di ken nell'aikido e per di più non motivarlo? risposta:non fa un aikido completo......se si vuole studiare aikido lo si deve fare per intero,se lo si vuole insegnare lo si deve fare BENE...semplice no?...IN OGNI CASO NON NON STO CRITICANDO LA KASHIMA SHINTO RYU....

    • @TheLuciano87
      @TheLuciano87 10 років тому

      perchè lo studio del kashima e del ken jutsu è molto più funzionale del cosidetto aikiken all'interno della pratica dell'aikido senti poi se ti va aggiungimi su fb lucien rizzo

      .....il cosi detto aikiken non l'ha inventato un pincopallino.....O'Sensei praticava armi ogni giorno,lo studio dell'aikido all' Ibaraki dojo si basava ( e si basa) sulle armi...e l'ho già detto,continuo a non capire perchè se vado ad un seminar di aikido anzichè insegnarmi aikido (tutto l'aikido,quindi comprese le armi) mi trovo a seguire una lezione di kashima shinto ryu.....non capisco perchè nell'aikikai l'aikido viene insegnato ad interpretazione libera..con mille stili di quello o quell'altro maestro........l'aikido è uno...nelle altre federazioni vedi Corallini e Saito figlio l'aikido insegnato è lo stesso identico......ho frequento questi due dojo e non ho avuto problemi di alcun tipo...quando ho messo piede in tre dojo aikikai diversi mi sono sentito spaesato...tutto complettamente diverso anche tra di loro senza fare paragoni poi con gli altri dojo citati..frasi del tipo "questo voi come lo facevate?"noi lo facciamo cosi perchè il mio sensei ha avuto tal dei tali sensei ecc ecc quindi per noi è cosi ma anche il vostro va bene....assurdo!
      Esempio banale..il saluto......dai il saluto è un "semplice" saluto un ringraziamento che deriva direttamente dalla tradizione shinto.....perchè devono esistere ottantordici modi di fare il saluto? ma.... provare per credere!

    • @MrManuche
      @MrManuche 10 років тому

      lucian rizzo
      non è corretto dire e credere che una scuola di spada,grande che sia,come la kashima shinto ryu sia più funzionale dell'aikiken! l'aikiken non si può paragonare a nessuna scuola perchè non nasce come scuola di spada nel senso stretto,ma nasce come strumento per raggiungere un fine che è quello di imparare delle tecniche di taijutsu...stesso discorso per il jo...ma attenzione!!...se è vero quello che ci hanno insegnato i nostri maestri, e cioè che l'aikido si basa sulla circolarità e sulle sue dinamiche seguendo il ragionamento di prima si può dire che a sua volta lo studio del taijutsu porta a migliorarci nel bukiwaza......sempre se tra le tre c'è awase!!
