I am glad my video was helpful. I am going to make a another video on it, but there is an undocumented feature on how to turn the heat down even lower than low, you can turn the heat to high, then press in on the dial and turn it like you are turning it to off, but the flames will go way down, just be careful you don't accidentally turn it off.

The pizza comes out so good, I have made about 10 pizzas so far, if the weather here had been better it would probably be double that. I was very worried it would be difficult reading the Ooni groups on Facebook but there are some other UA-camrs with great pizza focused channels that have very good step by step tutorials and my first pizzas came out miles better than I expected.
Those are proper pies brotha! Keep it up. I'm buying one for my needs. Big Marios in Seattle is charging $30 for a large pep! The Ooni pays for itself in under a month. Copped...
Thanks, lots of reading and watching other UA-cam channels before I attempted these. It is not too difficult if you make sure that the dough is ready and you don't overwork it. If it feels like it doesn't want to stretch, leave it for 10 minutes and try again. The dough will relax.
Great video. I love our Ooni Koda 16. I see that you got some sauce on your NY Giants shirt and had to dig the Patriots shirt out of your garage rag bin. Put some Shout in that stain and you’ll be rocking the Giants shirt again. 😂
I grew up in RI and MA. I will always be a die hard Patriots fan. My wife's whole family are Giants fans and having to sit in a room full of Giants fans as the Pats lost not one but two Super Bowls to them was brutal. Glad you liked the video and I should hopefully have some more coming soon!
Before ordering and even after ordering while I was waiting for the Ooni to ship I had been reading lots of Ooni Facebook groups and the Reddit /r/Uuni subreddit. I had been very jealous of the pizzas I saw people making.
@@davegass1650 The Koda 16 uses about a lb of propane an hour so a swapped propane tank will give about 15 hours and a refilled tank will give you about 20. I grew up in Rhode Island and Rehobeth, MA. I live in NY now but still have family in RI and CT.
Are there any other doughs besides homemade that work good, like store bought etc you have tried and what about sauce any you recommend besides just a can of San marzo. Can you use pre made crusts?
I have only used my own dough but have read of people using store bought it buying from pizzerias. You will want to find some that is made for a high temp oven like the Ooni. One of my next Ooni videos will be making the dough. It is really easy, the toughest part is getting the 00 flour but even that is available on Amazon. As for the sauce, you can use what you like. I used some Bianco Dinapoli tomatoes from California which are available at Whole Foods which were great and I will be making a pizza with a lemon pepper cream sauce soon. I think premade crusts may burn but have not tried any myself.

With gas you don't want a full door as it could cause an explosion, there are some aftermarket doors which cover part of the opening but Ooni does not recommend them. Some people cover part of the opening with tin foil when it's heating in up to get it up to temp faster. I have not found it necessary, it recovers heat very quickly.
Get the over hot, 900F or so, then put the pizza in the oven and turn the oven down to ultra low, if you are not sure what that is search for Ooni Koda 16 Ultra Low on UA-cam. I plan to make a video of that but have not had a chance yet. Cook the pizza on ultra low, it will allow the tops to cook slower without burning and let the bottom crisp up. Then turn back to high and let the stone get hot before launching the next pizza and then turn to ultra low to cook it. Also make sure that you are not overloading the pizza with too much sauce or other wet toppings like vegetables or fresh mozzarella that has not been drained.

How is you slicing the pepperoni yourself giving it the cup shape? Because it’s thicker?
It may be the type of pepperoni, I am not sure. I definitely slice it thicker than presliced. It is Boars Head.
