This is actually my fave look ever on her. She’s just growing more beautiful. 😊 The fabric is actually so on theme. The flowers in the garden in the book are said to be glass like. The flowers are like…ghostly and very delicate. I image them in the same colouring and transparency of this dress.

but the theme is "the garden of time" girl. The art exhibit is called as "Sleeping beauties: Reawakening fashion". There's a difference. Geez, does anyone follow the theme anymore?

She and balmain understood it enough. As Elle mentions and as balmain has posted, the dress is organza and resin meant to give a glass illusion effect. In the story that the theme references, there are themes of nature, fragility, beauty, decay and elements. The exhibit and pieces chosen for it, go hand in hand with the theme of the gala. The dress Elle is wearing will likely never be worn again and it’s probably not easy to wear (it may actually end up in an exhibit soon), it’s ok to reference the exhibit. She also might me making a sort double reference to her role and the exhibit title while still understanding the nuance. If you inspect it enough, The sleeping beauty fairytale also has similar ideas and themes to the garden of time and the exhibit. If she didn’t she wouldn’t have shown up in a glass inspired dress with birds. Clearly there was some thought there. Elle is not the one to call out for neglecting the theme..
