ive loved this movie for years and watch it pretty regularly, and one of the details that im absolutely obsessed with is in "i can do better than that" cathy, when talking about her ex boyfriend, says "he blew me off with heartfelt letter (even though it was actually a sticky note) and i thought i can do better than that" in reference to her newfound love with jamie. and 5 years later, jamie leaves her a letter to find when she returns from ohio. funny how life circles around like that, and it makes the ending even more heartbreaking
The "Team Jamie"/"Team Cathy" thing is annoying. I like to approach this show with an unbiased mind. I completely and whole heartedly disagree with Jamie's actions, but I can see how have to be someones emotional anchor can be draining. If he wanted to handle it the right way he should've just filed for divorce,but that doesn't carry a lot of dramatic weight to it. All infall I love this show and am glad that you 2 dudes love it as much as I do
I watched it a couple of days ago! It made me think about how hard it is to keep the energy up in stage productions during the Schmuel song. Interacting with Cathy during the song was a MAJOR help during that scene. Additionally, my favorite part of the film was Anna Kendrick's choices during "See I'm Smiling".
I had never seen a production of it but was OBSESSED with the off Broadway soundtrack. I was MUCH more vehemently team Cathy watching the movie. Favorite scene was the cheating scene or maybe the perky Ohio song. Least favorite scene was the Schmuel song, which is one of my favorite tunes but I felt like it dragged in the movie. Loved it as a whole!
I'm glad you loved the movie! It was just as amazing as I was hoping it would be. Definitely Team Cathy. She's much more sympathetic and I think she has most of the best songs. My favourite moment might be when Jamie tells Cathy "Have I mentioned today how lucky I am to be in love with you?". But I don't know. I loved almost all of it. My biggest complaint was that the clearly improvised talking parts should have been scripted... it really did sound like they were making it up on the spot and not in a good way. Except for Anna Kendrick's comments during Schmuel song, those were very funny haha Also Matt Palmer, I'll try and find in my heart to forgive you for referring to Norbert Leo Butz as "some guy" haha
Im Team Cathy/Team Anna because when you watch the movie first,you see how much Cathy being sad at the beggining, and when you hear or watch (A Part Of That) You recognize what Cathy feels. And over all,you recognize what Cathy wants.She want a guy who listen to her and there for her.But,Jamie cant give that.

i saw it the first day it got released. first i saw a production with katie rose clark on youtube then the movie. I didnt get the story timeline at all. it was like music videos. the movie is s so boring.. in my opinion.

I saw this show performed with two women and it definitely made the audience more team Cathy.
