- In this video I show you how to replace a 2WD 2006 Lincoln Navigator Front Wheel bearing Assembly. The replacement is pretty straight forward as long as you take your time. As always clean all bolts before reinstallation to prevent any bolts from getting cross threaded or binding up.

Great job Paul! 82 and 1/5 people know how to put a wheel on. Don't worry about that part. The four wheel drive is essentially the same thing. The only difference is the addition of an axle nut in the center of the wheel bearing. You undo the axle nut and push in on the axle shaft as much as you can (and that's not very far) to help gain access to the 4 mount bolts. Everything else is the same. The noise from the bearing is to let people know to get out of the way, because a Ford is coming down the road. ;-) I like to use anti seize on the wheel bearing mount surface and any steel bolts that go into anything aluminum. But grease will do also. I bought a 3000 and 1 caliper compressor kit from chinaland and it to had the white gloves. I'm thinking if I buy a wheel bearing or tools, that means I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty. Just saying. I'd rather get my shorts greasy than my hose. As far as doing both wheel bearings together, I'd just wait until the other one gets noisy. But that's just me. I don't change headlights in pairs either. Also, you don't need a spring compressor tool. Just take loosen the lower ball joint nut, separate the joint with a giant ford hammer (largest sledge hammer you have) (or an actual pickle fork if you have one) and pry up on the knuckle assembly and swing it out of the way as far as you can. It's way easier to rent or buy a ball joint press to remove the ball joint than to try to hammer out the old one and hammer the new one in without damaging it. The snap ring on the bottom is mostly for looks. If the new joint doesn't stay in the lower control arm, then you need to replace it. Now, Moog has an oversized ball joint for some applications. The Ford factory joints don't have grease fittings. There are a few after market ones that don't. If you see a grease zerk , chances are it's been replaced already.
Hi what kind of jack do you use for the Lincoln ?
