Omg this house is soo beautiful it takes you back in time the music the land the decorating its amazing especially when i saw the portrait of Abraham Lincoln he was my favorite President of usa. May god bless this home and the family that lives in it .

@Victoria G ha! i did. no BS. we had to shut half the house in the winter, cuz it was too expensive to heat. that made it even more scary as a kid.
@@airfox I hope you see this comment. I saw this video about 2 years ago and have wondered since then: Is there a back staircase between the dining room and kitchen? If yes, where does it come out upstairs?
no. just the large front staircase and the other staircase featured just off the kitchen. There is a secret small passageway off the dining room to the kitchen/foyer I used to use as a kid. Also, there was a creepy chair that went up and down the smaller staircase.
The interior decor is absolutely stunning!
Could not get enough of the fabulous antique furnishings! The blue wedge wood! Moldings, curved arches! Beautiful!! If it's not sold, next video should focus on the home, not the drive up!!!!

I don't think that there are enough superlatives to describe this property! The gardens must look amazing in the summer. The interior is stunning, though personally I would have not used so much wallpaper (especially the fake books). As I am used to living with antiques, I do not find the interior intimidating, but I am sure that many people would think that it was not a place to relax. I could happily live here.
Philip Meers: I didn’t like the fake books either... but it’s something a little bit different and unexpected, I guess. I actually like the wall paper. A house like that needs to be dressed up!

Love the detail in the dining room at the top of the windows, the location and all the fireplaces is awesome too. But don’t like some of the wall papers.

This home formarlly belonged to the Ames family and shovel corp. Oliver Ames and his sons. Ames owned 90+ homes along main st and the ajoining streets they leased as tenemants to their workers. 24 Main st, the home directly across the st whos front door faces the front door of this one belonged to my great great great great great grandpa Tertius Buck and his brother Benjamin. It would remain in my family until 1910 ish. I can't find records for my relatives position in the Ames shovel corp at the time but im just gonna believe they were the bosses muscle or brains or both and leave it at that. Who else do you wanna see first thing in the morning but your no 1.? The house the Ames's moved to from this one is the mansion 3 miles away that was used in the filming of the amazing movie "Knives Out" starring literally everyone.
Floors are nice, kitchen is nice, the rest or the decor is too stuffy
