It’s a perfect street bike. I traded it for the 890R. It’s an amazing bike but I don’t get the same experience as that smaller Duke. Highly recommend to even seasoned riders.
I've had mine for a couple months now. Amazing bike, tons of fun. (Even better when you add an aftermarket slip-on). My ixil exhaust has given the bike lots of fun pops and crackles and isn't too obnoxiously loud. Safe riding!
Finally, the Schaaf review I was wishing for. Judging from the speed in each gear and Schaaf's comments, it's just geared too tall. A smaller rear sprocket would easily fix this.
He's at the top of fourth to go 100 kph. I don't know that I could do with that anymore...my bike does almost 100 kph in first gear and in the mountains I mostly use second all the time.
Best motorcycle review without any commentary. I have also watched your past 3 year riding interceptor 650, that was quite nice. If you make a vedio of super meteor I will be super excited ❤❤❤. Love you from India
Riding A Lower CC Bike On High Speeds Is Much More Fun Than Riding Higher CC Bike On Low Speeds! Love From India! The Most Loved Street Naked In India.
What I observed from this video is that the gearing in Duke 390 is a bit different for overseas versions than on Indian versions. The Indian Duke 390 is a lot more peaky, while this makes a lot of power down low. This was also pointed out by a rather big creator from India called Sagar Sheldekar.
I test rode one a while ago before buying my 990 Duke and the 390 duke was as fun as the big one, especially because you can accelerate hard without getting too fast which is lots of fun. But sadly the seating position is too close to the handlebars which made my wrist hurt after 10 minutes. Because i would love to own the previous gen as a second bike.
Hey man big fan of your videos!❤ I literally strted riding more in mountains cause of you. I have a question btw, where does this bike stand if you compare it with CB300R?
@Schaaf woah thanks man! You reply to literally each and every comment, salute to your dedication! I have purchased my first bike cb300r and I hope that I'll ride at least 10% of the number of bikes you have rode till now! Cheers 🥂
Hey man Guilty as Charged 😄😄 I did search up your name and the bike multiple times Well Love from India Bud! Just a question If you had to choose personally Which would you rather prefer The Duke 390 Or The Triumph Speed 400 !?
to me the rough suspension would be the bigger issue over long distance. Indeed there are some vibrations but I think they can be tolerated. Interestingly enough, on the Vitpilen 401 (same engine) they can be felt much stronger. On the Vitpilen they were too much for me, on the Duke I thought they were OK.
I rode 600 miles one way on a Duke 390. The vibration isn’t as bad as most single cylinder bikes. He’s right about the tight suspension, but it’s very manageable.
Hello Schaff great video👌🏻👌🏻 00:46 heheh guilty your honour, what happened to the rs457 onboard? I know it was members only but now it has completely disappeared
Hello @Schaaf, in your opinion, Does the Duke Handle better than the RC390? Im 38years and i have an RC, it is absolutely great over long stretches, but in city traffic? It is not as much fun and hurts my arms. I’m thinking of getting the current gen Duke390 for this reason. Should i go ahead with the duke(and trade my RC) in your views?thanks mate.
He writes its short n upright. So. You won't have that pain. The only supersports Ive ridden is the cbr600 rr alongside all the Honda dealer had. Fun day they let everyone test ride. 20 min and I noticed 2' things: my hands hurt slightly. 2 I can't. I can not go fast with this. It's not for me. I need wide handlebars
Why did you shift all the way to 6th gear sir under 100 kmph At middle of the video sir suddendly It felt something bad for me But it seems like you're cruising sir 👍
When looking for my first bike last year I was considering a 2016 390 Duke. It had very low mileage, I think it had just about 1500km on the clock and it was in pristine condition. The engine felt torquey and had a deeper sound to it than in your video, probably because of the Akrapovic slip-on. It also had really short gearing, though. However, the dealbreaker for me was the seating position, I didn't like it at all. The handlebar was too low down for me (I'm 184cm tall for reference), so my shoulders started to cramp up during a 10 minute test ride. Maybe it's better on the newer ones? Anyway, I ended up buying a Suzuki SV650 and I love it! Wouldn't trade it for a 390 Duke even if it was brand new and had a taller handlebar.
kan je misschien een banden video maken met jouw bevindingen? zit ook te denken aan power 6. maar er zijn zoveel opties en weinig info over de nieuwste versies (s23, rosso 4 ) etc
Having owned one of these, you wouldn't want to do much more than a half days riding on it. Great fun, very nimble for scratching around lanes or passes on, but certainly not a tourer. For that, you would need its big brother the SDGT.
Bro, have one question do you keep the ball of the feet on the foot peg or the arc of the feet while riding? I want one opinion because i think its more comfortable putting the arcs of the feet on the foot pegs?
Hi! Gr8 video again! I have question. As for beginner would You recommend 390 or 790 Duke. I have watched meny videos with both bikes. As beginner i would like to have electronic assistance like cornering abs and tractrion control plus i would like to have bike that will forgive me my beginner mistakes not bike that would use it against me all time :). As very experienced rider i wonder if You could give me some advice for probalby best pick for first bike according to You and your experience. It always depends on your personality and riding style. For me the 390 would have been the right choice. It's easier to learn on slow bikes and I wanted to learn fast ;)
Guilty, I had searched for this as well, I bought the bike last week. :)
awesome, congrats!!

Too bad, 1390 SUPER DUKE is better :D
My first lower cc bike was a 390 Duke. Had too much fun on that bike.

Finally....... Duke 390..... Thankyou ❤.................❤
thanks for the comment!
This one might be 'just enough' in developed countries with open roads but in Indian crowded streets its absolutely ferocious!
It must be!!
Do you guys not have adequate backroads if you go a bit out of the towns?
@@Daniel-dj7fh Yes, now the infrastructure is getting developed and it feels just about adequate. A 750 would be perfect here

Cheers Schaaf.
Thanks, Dave!!
Hahaha loved the Miata at the end 😂
Me too :D
I owned a 2017 390 Duke as my first bike and it was simply amazing! Loved it and miss it to this day
The old ones were better even ;)
The 390 Duke is absolute fun ❤

I regularly watch your videos and always helps me to lift up my mood.Love from India❤
that is awesome!! Thanks for letting me know!
Thank you. There are profound questions being asked about KTM quality and their attitude towards customers.

It’s a perfect street bike. I traded it for the 890R. It’s an amazing bike but I don’t get the same experience as that smaller Duke. Highly recommend to even seasoned riders.
Yes
Personally I'd say you need a tiny little bit more. I feel like for the minor price bump a 650 or 790 or whatever with 60-90hp is absolutely worth it
yes, definitely
I've had mine for a couple months now. Amazing bike, tons of fun. (Even better when you add an aftermarket slip-on). My ixil exhaust has given the bike lots of fun pops and crackles and isn't too obnoxiously loud. Safe riding!

Just a full system performance exhaust, performance air filter, performance plugs, and just bit tuning. You are good to go.

Such a practical car, the MX-5. Take your bicycle with you? No problem!
Surprised to hear the suspension isn't all that good. Thanks for the video.
Unfortunately quite normal for KTM

Love the 390 platform. Well done. I have the 401.

This was an automatic choice for me but for the vibrations. Hence didn't get one. Awesome bike nonetheless 👌
So beautiful and scenic, I would love to ride road bike like those folks rather than motorcycle here, btw which area and country is this?

Yes, I did. Video dropping sometime later this year
Does the quick shifter feel a little jerky and hesitant below 4000rpm? It feels a little hesitant on my 2024 Duke. Post 7000rpm, it works flawlessly.
I only want to see a zx4r video to see how the sound to speed looks like on one of those.
Couldn't get to test one this year for myself :(
Hope you saw it in the meantime
@@Schaaf beautiful sounding bike. Thanks my dude

What type of quick shifter are you using? It seems very smooth. Is it OEM or aftermarket?
It's the KTM one
