Im here for this. I need more of this content. The past year i moved from ia to corp accounting (not necessarily by choice). All i did was work. It was a bad year. Ive gained weight. Feel terrible etc. people act like pulling back is easy and its not. Especially not now when companies run so lean and the market for jobs is not as good. And everyone is outsourcing IA! I could use a whole series in this. Also thank u for pointing out burnout is real. And its not something a long weekend can cure.

I’m on the tax side but a lot of people I know have gone into other fields because of that stress

Glad to see you doing so much better and learning to actually "live" instead of just letting life happen. God Bless Stephanie

Think about the typical corporate environment like Accenture, or Oracle. One of those companies is now literally doing monthly layoffs. They couldn't care less about how hard you worked over the years. I am an established consultant who has worked for corporate America on and off for 25 years and I am also a University Professor (Psychology and Business) so this is not antidotal advice. Your company will never pervasively even remotely put you first. You have to do that. There is little trust in corporations due to the corporate greed being at a high-point.

Work-life-balance has been my career's achilles heel and it's making me not want to work for a company again and instead, go into starting a business

Would you say that it’s possible to feel burnout regardless of whether you are in public audit or private industry? I’m struggling to make the next decision in my career, and I’m finding that it is really weighing me down. I started out almost 3 years in public, got my cpa, but just hit a wall with work and thought industry would be so much better. I have been in my current role for a big company for 10 months and really find that it is very repetitive and miss the excitement of public accounting, along with the feeling of importance (CPA’s being the key revenue generators in public accounting firms), the learning opportunities, and opportunities for mentoring/networking. I was at a regional firm with 55 hour busy season requirements and thinking of going back to my senior role.. but I’m just afraid to convince them to take me back and then have the same feelings I did the first time. I’ve learned that taking care of my physical and mental health is really important, and I feel like I have improved with that over the last year. I don’t expect an answer but just wanna say your videos a have helped me realize that there isn’t necessarily a yes/no answer and that’s ok.

All have done evil “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23) The penalty for sin is hell (Revelation 21:8). Because of Gods love for us Jesus Christ came down from heaven to take the punishment for our sin on the cross in which he was spat on, beaten, mocked and laughed at.
Christ died for the sins of the world and The third day God raised him from the dead (Praise God). This was done so that those who believe on Christ will not perish (hell) but have life everlasting (heaven); be justified by Gods grace through redemption in Christ (John 3:16) (Romans 3:24).
The blood Jesus shed on the cross washes away our sin if we Believe in The Son of God and his finished work (ordained by God) on the cross. When this happens the believer receives the righteousness of Christ in place of their own unrighteousness (all sins are forgiven) and this makes them saved (going heaven) and they are born again as a Christian. (Romans 3:25-26
