@Cataclysmic Dildoser The lighting felt off, the cinematography was non existent. The movie was trash, but there was that extra thing that I just couldn't put my finger on that made the movie even less special.
I remember reading from a review back then that since Goyer was a first time director, he did not really know what effects were supposed to cost. That is why the movie looked cheap but came in at a higher budget than the first two films.
i saw all 3 movies and this one was so low effort compared to the first 2 that i honestly keep forgetting theres a third installment in the trilogy. i was talking to someone about Wesley Snipes, wondering why he wasnt in more recent movies, and we both said that "it's too bad they never finished the third movie in the Blade trilogy" because both of us had completely forgotten this movie even existed. it always felt more like those cheap Disney direct to VHS sequels than a real theatrical sequel to the first 2 Blade movies.
The first Blade had such kinetic energy, it kind of brought that matrix like style before the matrix. This movie holds up exceptionally well. Hot soundtrack too. Wesley is perfect for the role.
Blade was such a good movie. So hyped for the sequels. If it hadn't gone to shits, we might not have had to tolerate the Underworld series of vampire movies.

When The IRS got him to court, Wesley arrived with an estimated amount that he owed to the IRS. On that same day, The IRS returned the difference from the actual amount, Wesley owed (he overpaid). After The IRS was somewhat satisfied in paying what he owed, the Judge still sent him to prison for "failure to file". This is a missing, but important detail when it's reported about his tax evasion.
That's like saying, "Sorry I defrauded you sir (after being caught), here's all your money back!" What he did was still highly illegal. He knew it was illegal. His tax attorney knew it was illegal. He wasn't sorry about what he did....he was sorry that he got caught. If it were you or I that had been caught, they'd have buried us UNDER the prison. Famous people always get the easy way out.

Blade: Trinity saved my life. 2009 I was going through a divorce drinking myself to death every day. I was very close to taking my own life! It was until a friend introduced me to Deadpool. Which I previously seen Ryan in X-men Origins Wolverine as Wade Wilson. But we won’t get into that version of the character. So I began to read some Deadpool comics while I watched Blade: Trinity because Reynolds was in it. The character of Hannibal King was the best part of the movie. I’ve always been a fan of Reynolds and his personality so I combined his and Deadpool’s personality into my own to make a change in my life. Now I use sarcasm for all my insecurities! So I love this movie! Yes it’s terrible, but fun. Also fun fact Blade: Trinity got Reynolds as Deadpool another reason to appreciate it regardless of the drama that happen behind the scenes.
MattaTron1000 Geez...you sound like a loser. They are just movies. Ryan Reynolds did not invent sarcasm. You need a bigger outlet in life. No wonder your wife left your ass
Great story. Congratulations. It does not matter where we find our personal heroes, as long as we better ourself. Reynollds is good in this one. :) I used to read Dracula and liked seeing all the characters coming to life in the movie. Take care and blessings!
I love the first as a great first movie, but I adore the visuals and horror elements of 2. Watching Blade 3 I just wished the other characters would disappear, they were all awful and a better fit for children's movie (this applies to the bad guys too).
@@defeqel6537 Same here on #2. I didn't think 3 was that bad; different, but not necessarily bad. I just don't agree with their portrayal of Dracula. They should have stuck with the Tomb of Dracula depiction as much as possible. I hate it when directors and script writers stray from canon. I think all these movies should stick to the comic storylines and portrayals as much as possible. That said, I still appreciate all 3 Blade movies for the artistic works they are in their own right. Each director gave it their unique touch. Each one made the vampires repulsive in their own way.
I blame Goyer for the tragedy of Blade 3 and Snipes had every right to be upset with him for the direction that movie went. I still love the Blade trilogy but honestly only the first 2 are worth watching.
@Cataclysmic Dildoser I guess he wasn't happy of how the screenplay turned out. Can't say I blame him. But around that time, he built up a reputation of being difficult to work with which means he got less work for films so the blade flims were the only thing keeping his career afloat.
Hannibal King's beard was my favorite part. Coolest beard sculpt ever. And then his physical transformation into 1 of the leanest, best looking physique ever as well.
Blade is one of those times where actually reading the comics beforehand might have helped it go down easier. I really enjoyed the first movie, but 2 & 3 with the weird Predator-faced vampires was really off-putting to me. It was as if some special effects company wanted to get the most out of that animation before moving on to something else. I recall it being in other movies/franchises as well.
I loved Blade 2 when I first saw it, felt almost a kin to ALIENS, at least to me it did. I've loved all of Guilmero Del Toro's movies since...maybe not Pacific Rim as much, but it's still a good movie that I think achieved what it wanted to.
Funniest thing this film is that most of the shots where you see blade from behind or from far away are not Snipes but are his stunt double. Apparently Snipes would only come out of his trailer to film close ups and dialogue.
Really liked the first two, Wesley gave his best. Although when I watching Trinity I fell asleep. Ali really seems to be a great pick for a new Blade. Loved his perfomance in Luke Cage, can't wait to see his Blade. I just hope that they won't fuck up everything else in that movie.

White washed directors make movies cheesy and depressing like end game.
@@irontyson869 So true. Blade's swagger mixed with the goth undertones made for a perfect action horror cocktail that only the 90's could pull off. Movies today just can't emulate that vibe even if they tried.

I guess as long as he does not write the actual screenplay or direct its all good. Anyway the script is just shit! 1. The title is shit and nonsensical. The word "trinity" does not make much sense really 2. Why did blade need added sidekicks? He is basically a lone wolf hunter. That is what adds to the appeal of the Character. Whistler was the only sidekick he needed. 3. There is a scene where a blind woman watches over the surveillance cameras! Yes A FUCKING BLIND WOMAN. 4. The villain.... Oh where do I even fucking begin with this uncharismatic villain. For someone as Iconic as Dracula why cast an uncharismatic and totally subpar actor to play him? They should have just opted to maybe not have new sidekicks for blade and hire a better actor to play such an iconic villain. His characterization is even a lot shittier. He talks about fighting with honor and yet takes a baby for a hostage. Seriously? I just hated that part where Blade had to chase him. WTF? He is supposed to be Blade's most difficult challenge and he runs away from him like a bitch? IMO I do not blame Snipes acting the way he did on and off set. You can't say thought that he was the reason why this movie failed.
First one was great, second one was not too bad but the third one was like huh? Tho I will say this. I dont know why Hollywood keeps jacking off at the concept that Black Panther was the very first black superhero when all this time we had the most badass who happens to be called BLADE!

Hell no! Snipes is the ONLY Blade. Ali is an awesome actor, yes - no doubt (respect for his work on House Of Cards) - but saying he's got big shoes to fill is overstating the obvious and, at the same time, absurd, seeing as Snipes is the king. Not to cast Snipes was a mistake.

I think only Wesley Snipes can fill the role as Blade. Because Snipes embodied Blade so well, and he comes of as legitimate and a stoic badass. Others just come off as either weak and mellow, or just trying too hard to be something they not.

I would've liked to see a blade/underworld crossover. Imagine blade having to team up with Selena (awkward) & then killing off a bunch of vampires together (beautiful).
I thought the Ryan Reynolds character was misplaced completely. He essentially played Deadpool in this movie. A little sarcasm & humor is good for any movie but this character was way over the top for a serious vampire movie. Also dracula should have been the most terrifying villain of the trilogy but didn't come close. And I'm sure marvel will do ok with this character but to me a blade/vampire movie should be rated R to truly capture the character.
Sounds like he recorded it in the bathroom. Also, he needs to stop dropping his syllables. Example: "bull proof" instead of "bullet proof". "Sassfying" instead of "satisfying. "
You notice that blade 1 we can all agree that probably happened in NYC but 2 and 3 happened in generic cities I think that kinda hurt too...when you watch any Spider-Man film you KNOW and FEEL NYC
What happened to that „dark-Marvel“ label? marvel knights I think it was called. Didn’t they release the punisher and ghost rider movies under that label? Blade would be a perfect fit with an R rating. Maybe it was to early back then but now, with the overexposure of „clean“ superhero movies, it could work if they give it a good enough budget

Blade and Blade 2 - two of the best action/urban fantasy movies ever made.
What do you mean by "urban"?
Blade 1998 gave birth to good Marvel movies in general, Blade II was an improvement, Trinity was a shitty end of a trilogy.
@@adamlane6453 Urban fantasy. It refers to a genre where there are magic users in the modern day world, usually a world containing a secret world of hidden monsters, vampires, etc.
Yea I've spent years trying to figure out why the movie felt so cheap. It really did feel like a tv movie.
What can I say? Guillermo spoiled us with the second one.
i saw all 3 movies and this one was so low effort compared to the first 2 that i honestly keep forgetting theres a third installment in the trilogy. i was talking to someone about Wesley Snipes, wondering why he wasnt in more recent movies, and we both said that "it's too bad they never finished the third movie in the Blade trilogy" because both of us had completely forgotten this movie even existed. it always felt more like those cheap Disney direct to VHS sequels than a real theatrical sequel to the first 2 Blade movies.
Yep!
Recently watched BLADE 2. Forgot how awesome it was!! And THIS WAS before the MCU was REALLY EVEN BORN!! With the exception of whistler coming back to life, which was so lame!! My god, what a great cast!! DARYL FROM WALKING DEAD, IP MAN, DOM TORETO'S BEST FRIEND, HELLBOY.... THIS FILM IS SO SO UNDERRATED!!
That's like saying, "Sorry I defrauded you sir (after being caught), here's all your money back!"
What he did was still highly illegal. He knew it was illegal. His tax attorney knew it was illegal.
He wasn't sorry about what he did....he was sorry that he got caught. If it were you or I that had been caught, they'd have buried us UNDER the prison. Famous people always get the easy way out.
@@VastFlux True enough, but context matters. Otherwise , the slightest shit no matter how shallow or petty, we would've been in jail before entering the first grade.
@@vargavision Not a very convincing argument. You're comparing the actions of a child (which would have to be murder) before you ended up in any sort of facility being in first grade (6-7 years old). Comparing the actions of a child versus a grown man who up until he reported to prison gave zero fucks about the law, the court system, or anything else. Which....you know is his choice to make. My whole point was that if a normal person did what HE did, we'd be going away for 10-15 years.
@@VastFlux I wasn't making comparisons. I'm adding a bit of sarcasm. Context. On top of that, The Judge had the option to just fine him and put him on probation.
@@vargavision I see where you're coming from bro. I'm just making a general statement that when celebrities/famous people fuck up; they never get hard time. They serve a tiny fraction of the time they should've got--while normal people get fucking hung out to dry with the full force of the law.
Blade Trinity was so horribly cringy it hurt just to watch it.
Seriously, its the only blade movie that I have watched once and never again.
I have seen worse superhero movies, but trinity is clearly the worst out of the blade movies.

The biggest problem is that Blade wasn't the main character of his own film
I still like this move but it's definitely the weakest in the series
That's one of the main issues Wesley had with this film. Wesley found out that his co stars where getting more screen time than him. He also didn't like the script that Goyer wrote either and he also didn't want Goyer directing the film
The only thing I didn't like about Trinity was the Villain was dispatched way too easily. He was supposed to be the ultimate bad guy for blade, but pretty much got his bit kicked the whole 30 sec fight.
-- And coming from blade 2s amazing villains, Trinity just felt underdeveloped.
The only thing? The only thing?
And in blade 3 with Ryan Reynolds
Isn't playing DEADPOOL but yeah
It's DEADPOOL..
Yea he fucked the movie up with his over the top jokes. He literally plays the same character in every movie

Yeah, that’s what I want: a PG Blade to along with with a PG Deadpool.

Disney said Deadpool isn't changing. We shall see
Freakshow Filmfestival At the time of acquisition, yes, he did say that, but recently, when asked again, he said “Maybe Deadpool doesn’t gave to be R rated”, and further stating that Disney is a family friendly company. It seems like he was just lying about an R rated DP to get fans on board with Disney’s purchase.
Fix made a big mistake selling out to Disney. They should have asked George Lucas for advice on how that goes.

Glad you turned it around, good trick to bypass negative patterns
TheComedian Comment Of The year!!! Love it thanks buddy! Appreciate the support. Your absolutely right! 🤟
Have only seen 1&2 Blade movies & loved both.
Really really really hoping for Blade being in the next Dr Strange movie.
Ryan Reynolds, on his time during the production: "I never met Wesley Snipes. I only met Blade."
I liked all three. The first will always be my favorite, though. Everything about it was spot-on.
Snipes also deserves part of the blame as he's practically just sleepwalking throughout the film and was difficult to work with on the set.
@Cataclysmic Dildoser
I guess he wasn't happy of how the screenplay turned out.
PG-13 Blade ...ok imma head out...
Blade 3 was a directorial disaster and the story was so very substandard. I reckon Snipes should have directed it himself!
Blade 1-2 fight choreography blew me away more than anything in MCU except for fights in Winter Soldier. Ali has a lot of work to do.
Snipes is BLADE PERIOD!😇😎
Great video. Amazing channel. Loving all the back stories from each video. Well done. Cheers.
These are really well done videos man - the editing must take you freakin HOURS. Nice work.
I liked Trinity. All 3 movies are different. First was more gothic, 2nd more horror and 3rd was more comedic. Great trilogy overall.
if you like cringe white humor, why do these white comedy actors all act like ben stiller. sarcastic and dumb. Black humour and swag made the first blade movie. Blade was ghetto, even has a custom mack 10. Deacon frost and quin are one of a kind humour for white dudes and they made blade one good. White washed directors make movies cheesy and depressing like end game.
@@irontyson869 So true. Blade's swagger mixed with the goth undertones made for a perfect action horror cocktail that only the 90's could pull off. Movies today just can't emulate that vibe even if they tried.

The Blade TV series was surprisingly entertaining.
They did snipes dirty in blade 3. People didn't want to see the nightstalkers they wanted to see blade do his thing one more time. With the nightstalkers playing second fiddle. I wish they could have made a good last movie would have been one if the best trilogies of all time.
i read the director banned Snipes from the post production room when he had been involved with producing in blade 1&2.
I am on Wesley's side here. The final product itself should validate every issue he raised if not justify his douchebaggery on set. It was Goyer who should have been fired. Aside from the messy direction, the script he came up with is just utter crap! I can't believe this is the same guy got the story credits for the dark knight. I guess as long as he does not write the actual screenplay or direct its all good. Anyway the script is just shit!
1. The title is shit and nonsensical. The word "trinity" does not make much sense really
The only thing I didn't like about Trinity was how they used Dracula, other than that, I enjoyed it.
First one was great, second one was not too bad but the third one was like huh?
Tho I will say this. I dont know why Hollywood keeps jacking off at the concept that Black Panther was the very first black superhero when all this time we had the most badass who happens to be called BLADE!
I love these videos. The narration, editing ans and soundtrack.
I would pay you good money to make Lore videos in this way. Ambient dark slow music explaining the lore of Alien, Starcraft, Fallout, Bladerunner etc.
I haven't seen him in hoc. I only know him from the 4400. Im curious how he'll do with the action scenes.
@@werlost Ali plays the character of Remy (in the story, he used to work for Frank etc etc) in HOC and did an awesome job too. @14:53 don't know why but it made me laugh
The real question is WTF happened to the sound halfway through??
During Blade's long fight with the vampires right before he fights Drake, that was mostly his stunt double with a CGI face
Dude, you gotta get better on the mic. It's really hard to understand what you're saying when your voice trails off
Sounds like he recorded it in the bathroom. Also, he needs to stop dropping his syllables. Example: "bull proof" instead of "bullet proof". "Sassfying" instead of "satisfying. "
