Why aren't we getting a sound clip? I agree with your thoughts on cost / synergy etc. Please include sound clips - even though its through YT,, its something viewers want
Interesting request. I have never understood the value of that since it's through UA-cam and then the sound is necessarily being reproduced on something entirely different than the hifi gear being reviewed. But I am interested in how you use those sound clips and what you take away from them.
You describe with your words very well what a realy good amplifier should do ! .........and there are few..............audiophile hype is for sale but amplifiers that do shine what music is are rare .........I am not asthonidhed that a " simple " circuit EL84 amp can do this upper quality and more realistical musical job ! ................It also tells you what those sophisticated expensive audiophile amps can''t do while at the same point trying to seduce the audiophile lovers and potential buyers with " high end " performance " sound " and pin point imaging ( witch is mostly a mistake and absence of other room information ) and ( excesive ) detail retrieval while this one and some other great sounding amps are putting the piano and the music into your room........;;making it easy to connect to the soul of the music and to understand music that brfore seemed not so very inteesting until you ...........listen to such a thing like the little tube amp ! Thank you for sharing
I agree with you that I want to connect to the soul of the music and I want that emotional connection to the music. And for me that most frequently happens when I play music on a class A amplifier. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
Try this: set up your system with your head a foot from the wall behind you, the long wall. Sound absorb behind head. And the speakers about 6-8 feet from your ears and angled to adjust soundfield. So the speakers will be pretty much in the center of the room. And the tweeter at ear level. Most can't leave it like this, but try it sometime.
I had the craziest experience once with a pair of Athena bookshelves. At the time I was messing around with those little Tpa 3116 $14 chip amps and I was just testing one of them and needed to hook speakers up, so I hooked up the Athena's on the floor in front of my main system, they were probably only 2 feet apart as it wasn't supposed to be a listening session so i didn't even care where i placed them and i Bluetoothed Spotify to it and immediately thought it sounded pretty awful to be honest from where I was crounched kneeling down to adjust the volume but as I got up and stepped back I noticed the sound changing to something I never expected or experienced in my room and I wasn't listening for it but i couldn't ignore it as there was this huge open spacious 3d soundstage just appearing in front of me. The thing that stunned me the most was how tall this soundstage was being projected, I remember standing there in amazement almost giggling to myself at what I stumbled upon. I'd of course heard these speakers in that same room but never 2 feet apart on the floor and they'd never sounded like that before if anything they were a bit sharp on top at times. Everything about it broke everything I thought I knew about audio, speakers too close together, speakers on the floor, cheap speaker wire, cheap cables, a $14 amp feeding it Bluetooth and it opened up portal in my room and sucked me into it. I would have never have dreamt to intentionally put bookshelf speakers on the floor and definitely not that close together but whatever was happening with reflections off the floor and time alignment or whatever magic formula I discovered that day it created a crazy listening experience. To my wife's distress I actually left it there for about 3 weeks until she threatened to divorce me unless it was gone. 😂
You are definitely excited. This is what true stereo sounds like. Most people don’t get it. Holographic. I have a FX10H on the way. Did you get the upgraded tubes?
No I didn't buy the upgrades tubes because I wanted to review for others what the least expensive option for the FX10H available sounds like. And I've been pleasantly surprised by just how good the "base" offering is! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comments!
Sincerely trying to help you here. I know you are just starting out with UA-cam. It would be easier to listen to you if you didn't sound like you were almost yelling. Chill just a little. We look forward to hearing more of your great reviews.
I Don’t feel like you were shouting. Just a combination of honest excitement and (truly here) a little bit of echo or reflection from the room. I’m sure that can be tamed a little in post production.
No, avg DBs in the 70s is not concert levels. But I like peak DBs in the 80-87 DB range and avg DBs in the 70s. That's my pleasure listening zone. We all have different SPL listening level preferences and that's fine.
Very well articulated description. I’m glad you have nail a High audio system. Ferris
Thank you kindly! And thanks for watching!
Sir, would you mind sharing what SPL meter app you use on your phone as is shown in your video?
Put it with the triangle speakers of around 1200 bucks- blew your mind

This sounds intersting and worth a try!
Please tell us if the Black Ice came with upgraded tubes.
This is the "base" model of the FX10H. No upgrades to the tubes.
Thanks for watching!
how does it sound with vinyl?

Need larger speakers 🔊
Won't have to work so hard

Also needs some eq on the voice track, the room sounds a bit shouty. Could be the microphone

unfortunately i like 88db-102db with klipsch speakers
Klipsh ten to be very hugh efficiency apeakers that should pair well with low wattage amplifiers !
We all have our sweet spot for sound levels. My wife enjoys listening louder than I do LOL
70s db isn't concert level i like at least the ability to go to concert levels let alone 50s dbs
