- It’s the best time of the day for these pups when Anjelo, the mail carrier, comes. Will, a weimaraner, and Jack, a bernedoodle, were so excited they sprinted over to the front porch to say hello. Jack ran so fast, he slid past Anjelo right into the door. Thanks to their Ring Video Doorbell with a Ring Protect subscription, the pups’ family had a laugh when they watched the Ring video.

I had always wondered why dogs are so aggressive towards mailman etc it's because when they do bark and he just comes and go they really feel like they've done their job of running someone off etc. Our mailman wouldn't come in gate if he seen our garage open, we'd always get mail that would say(dogs were out) hand written on the mail lmao to be fair they did seem aggressive barking at people walking by the gate etc. But they definitely aren't. They just think that's what they are supposed to do being the people don't stay out come inside fenced yards.
You really do meet the absolute best and worst dogs on the job lol

My dad was a mailman, and his friends were our mail carriers, so I always grew up thinking of mailmen as positive bc they were like family. But, my mailman is so mean and I was so bummed out. This guy reminds me of my childhood.

I agree. Though, I have to say cats judge too. They judge the darkness within us and sometimes make us feel less worthy. At least that's what my cats are doing to me. :")

Our last mail carrier always had pup-peroni treats in her truck and loved dogs. Our dog would dash over to the mail truck whenever she stopped outside our place. He was usually outside with us at that time because it was right after we returned home from work.
Whenever our mail lady had a fill-in, he still would rush over, scare the heck out of the person (with his speed, no aggression) and then walk away pouting like his friend died. We would explain to the new carrier that he had a special relationship with Lisa. 😅

Unfortunately I don’t have video, but many years ago, I got a wolf hybrid pup. And being a responsible pet owner I built a 6’ fence around my entire backyard (which was pointless since the pup could jump it by time she was 6 mos old).
But I had also relocated my mailbox from at the side door on the deck, to at the top of the stairs at the gate before the side door. That way the mailman & newspaper kid wouldn’t have to enter the yard (or risk my dog getting out).
One day I happened to be home from work, through the window I saw the mailman coming. But then I heard a huge ‘reaction’. I dashed out to scold my dog, when the mailman stopped me.
He explained that every day Love (my dog) would crouch down and hide behind the gate, then when the mailman reached to lift the lid of the mailbox (which was mounted on the gate), Love would pop up, slap her paws on the lid and give her most fearsome growl (at 4 months it wasn’t very fearsome). Then the mailman would rub her eyes, get a kiss, and he gave her a small milk-bone.
But here I was thinking my pup was this vicious predator eating mailmen. Only to find out it was a private game between the mailman and her.
(Smart mailman. Becoming friendly and familiar with the dogs on his route while the dogs were still young.)
Seems like they had a pretty in certain friendship. Love sounds full of good tricks.😄

This guy was exceptional. He was awesome and with a really good personality too! Honestly, I would have been so scared. She should not let her dogs run so freely like that; some people love animals but are still afraid of the ones that they don’t know. Not everyone’s a dog person. I thought they were about to attack him. I’m glad it turned out well.

I’m a mail carrier and the best part of my day is meeting everyone’s pets. I’ve only had 2 dogs seriously try to bite me, but luckily I had a medium sized package in a box I used as a shield. Other than that I love meeting dogs

It depends on where you live at. In my town it’s very common. I see the mailman park his truck and then he walks around the neighborhood. But some places they stay in the truck and drive up to the mailbox.

34 years as a mailman and I only had one dog who was vicious. I had over 400 homes on my route and loved all of my canine friends. I actually miss them and the owners. Shoutout to Stratford New Jersey. Beautiful place filled with amazing people.
We had a Springer named Mr. Wilson who loved our mailman. He would jump into the truck for his treats from Larry

Dogs have good senses, to be able to detect someone in the front of the house, while they are at the back of the house.
My dogs love the mail people because they bring us good stuff. But they don’t like the refuse collectors who routinely steal all our best and deliciously smelly things. This was a nice interaction. Loved it!
