This video was taken at the end of May 2013 during a visit to David Saxby's, of Aquarium Solutions, London home. This is the latest reincarnation of what has to be one of the most famous and talked about private reef aquariums in the world!
Specifications at a glance:
Tank Dimensions:
120'' x 78'' x 60'' x 39'' x 60'' x 39'' x 48'' deep (L-shaped tank) although this new tank has been 'opened up' and is larger in size at the rear weir corner than the previous aquarium dimensions listed in various articles.
Lighting:
There are 28 (yes, 28!) AI Sol LED units over the aquarium. Additionally, there are a number of T5 tubes to add some 'background' colour, but all these T5 & LED lights are soon to be replaced with the new AI Hydra.
Pumps:
There are10 x Abyss pumps on the system; 5 on the closed loops, 1 to feed a chiller and fluidised reactor, 1 moving water to the external tanks and water change system in the cellar, and 3 feeding water from the sump under the tank to the display.
Fish:
David estimates there are 300 - 400 fish in the system; most are small shoaling fish such as Anthias and Cardinalfish, with various other larger fish including a pair of Powder Blue Tangs, a group of Yellow Tangs, assorted Wrasse, and a stunning Gem Tang.
Corals:
David's tank is biased towards SPS and LPS corals, although there are variety of filter feeding non-photosynthetic corals.
We would very much like to thank David for his permission to allow us to video and post his amazing aquarium on our UA-cam page.

Inspiring beyond words... A tank I sincerely wish I could see in real life and I'm jealous of those that have had such a wonderful opportunity! Thank you to David for sharing and to the individual who took the time to bring it to the rest of us :)

Very beautiful and above the level of imagination
Love this Reef, reason I got into this hobby!
Breath taking simply stunning..
Speechless.

What is the name of the wrasse that looks like a parrotfish that is blue with a yellow shoulder ?The fish has a large yellow patch below the dorsal fin area behind the eye. If it's a wrasse it looks to belong to the thalassoma genus based on the shape of it's tail and swimming pattern very attractive fish.
Hi David. What kind of wrasse is your fish that is all blue with a large yellow patch on it's back ? Or is it a small species of parrotfish ?
