Dominik, excellent complement to the full understanding of your unique concept. From your video lessons + the forehand course I got in your website I really have experienced a proper and reliable forehand after so many years. Also, how important was the finish like you teach! I´d been so focused in a lot of other aspects (unit turns, different take backs, different gestures here and there) except the basic one that is - what you excellently teach - HOW TO MAKE THE CORRECT AND BEST CONTACT WITH THE BALL. And Dominik , in this vid you´ve added a fundamental bit that is that last and short space of say quick acceleration (that looks like starts in the elbow) in the swing prior to the contact intead of full and proportional swing speed of the arm. And that´s what I observe more and more with Jannik Sinne´s type of swing, so different from the rest that looks like his elbow does not go much behind his trunk line (which I guess for many players even in pros is the main issue in mistiming the ball and and/or not developing a full solid and accellerated ball every time). There is also an analysis of this Sinner´s trait if you google "Late acceleration Jannik Sinner" by this author´s book "Fault Tolerant Tennis". The only question I have left to ask is: Apart from lower the angle of the wrist ( like you said in your vid "Consiously playing the Forehand out of the HAND") can you advice on another way to increase the rate of spin (say rpms) or said in other words How to feel a greater contact of the strings with the ball ? Thank you
Thanks for the nice comment, if you want more sore spin you have to lower the racket head a little more in the lag position and the rest stays the same , you could get feeling in the beginning that the racket is to open but don’t worry because if you flexion into contact you will make that necessary spin . Try it and let me know if it works out for you ( I’ll make a video about it )
Yes indeed! The wrist laid back until way after contact and pronates (underarm, wrist and hand) at the end of the follow through. How else can a player play the ball down the line? Certainly not with palmair flexion of the wrist. If you want to quickly sustain wrist injuries, you should flex your wrist just before hitting the ball.
This is awesome, I wish I found your channel a year and a half ago!
