Wow, what a productive year you have had. Your stitching is beautiful. Thank you so much for showcasing Luella’s fabrics - savannah is gorgeous perfect for the Odyssey Sal. Look forward to future updates. 😊
Thank you for your kind words ❤ Thank you for creating such a lovely fabric to stitch on, you're most welcome for me showing it off - I couldn't not! It's perfect for the SAL! I'll definitely be keeping up to date with it, the next release is 17th January and I'll be on it!
Love seeing everything you've worked on. From finishes to inactive WIPs, I think the most important part is enjoying the process. I like your new approach for goals for this year. Hope stitching keeps bringing you joy!
Thank you so much for your kind words ❤ I agree about the process, that's absolutely what we're all here for (even progress stitchers have to enjoy the process somewhat too!). I'm really hoping the new approach helps to keep me joyful with the stitching. Although I've had to rein myself in already because my mind keeps wandering to what can I finish, rather than what would I love to stitch on 😂 I'm so looking forward to seeing what your stitching brings this year. I loved seeing your WIPs in December 🙂 If that wasn't traditionally my month of panic stitching I'd totally join you all for stitchfinale if you did it again! Happy stitching and all the best!
Wonderful to stitch along with you again, and congrats on meeting your finishing goals. They all look amazing, and I'm sure the gifts and cards were loved by their recipients. That sucks about your technical difficulties, that would frustrate me no end. I like your idea for cutting back on your finishing goals to give yourself more space and flexibility for the larger pieces. For myself I learned that I cannot do yearly goals, it just doesn't work for my life, and it seems rather arbitrary really. Not that I don't have goals, but they are based on a planned finished date on key pieces, and so are set to a reasonable (for me) amount of stitches per month on each piece so that I should easily meet those end goals while giving myself the time and flexibility to vary up my stitching, or take time off for family or other activities. It makes it much more relaxing and freeing, while having the assurance that I am getting the progress I need (I am a progress stitcher after all). I also usually get more stitches each month on the projects than what I have set, which gives me the reassurance that if I do fall behind in the future, I have some wiggle room and haven't screwed everything up (also my goals are set a bit to the high side for the finish dates, so I will likely finish things in advance of the goal date). I do love hearing how other people plan out their stitching, and I love seeing wip parades and such. Everyone's lives are different, and so our stitching time and goals are different, which is wonderful. I can't wait to see what you ordered from Gecko Rouge and which you decide to start! Happy stitching!
Thank you once again for sticking with me and choosing to spend your time with me again ❤ I love your finish date rather than overall year end goals! I completely get how that works and would fit in as a progress stitcher (I'd also have to build in wiggle room though!). I'm the same, I love seeing and hearing about how we all work differently and looking at everything different we work on. What better way to create and build the best way of stitching for ourselves and obviously get enabled too with this amazing community! I really enjoy WIP parade time of year for new ideas and projects; although I'm working my way through the lovely flosstubers who've commented on my videos that I've not watched yet at the moment (but they'll have WIP parades too so win-win!). I hope you love the GeckoRouge projects as much as I do, there's two similar to each other and one different (but you'll see how it's me). I might let you lovely lot pick as I genuinely don't know which I'd start at the minute. They've not started to be put together yet though (not that I check daily 😂) so I've got some time yet! Happy stitching to you too!
Fantastic, well done on your 15 finishes! I’d feel exactly the same with the lion the witch and the wardrobe piece id need the symmetry too! 😆 also with the creepy Christmas or ornaments I get why they don’t feel like finishes I think if they were on separate bits of fabric it might but because it’s a Sal and on one piece of fabric that’s why it doesn’t 🤔 Omg what a ballache muting then having to refilm well done for sticking with it and JCs gentle nudges haha 😆 Great plans for next year you should have loads done by April haha
Thank you for a lovely comment, watching all the way through and understanding my brain! I'm not even sure I could have swung the Lola Crow passing for one on different bits of fabric to be fair but we'll never know 😂 Gentle nudging... yeah... like every single time he walked in a room I was in. He did good to make me do it to be fair I was so close to abandoning. But it was really really good, like really good, that's why I was so gutted!! I just had to have my mardy moment (days) though I guess. Getting loads done by April might not be on the cards but I'm trying to cram as much in as I can. I'll drop you a message but it looks like was right to not say yes this time to your offer about some stitchy time away.
@@CraftyRogueGamer oh yes I completely relate to your brain 😆 to be honest I’m doing the 12 monthly Quaker’s on separate bits of fabric my plan was to do one each month a month before but my brain is saying you need to do them all asap then your finished so I get it! 😆 Bless him such a shame but your video was awesome as always anyway! Glad you didn’t scrap it! Just do what you can but most importantly make sure you enjoy it! 😁 messaged back!
Ahh a brain buddy! 😂 My brain would do that too with the monthly Quaker if I had the whole thing! If I'm not restricted by not having the part of the pattern/release I'd totally just go for it too if I was enjoying it (and if it meant a finish... not that this year is about finishes for me but my brain hasn't caught up yet!) 😁. I've begrudgingly admitted to JC that he was right to 'nudge' me into redoing the last hour. I think that pained me more than actually redoing it 😂
@@CraftyRogueGamer haha brain buddy 😁 yep exactly! So even though I don’t need to do April until march I’ll most likely start it as soon as I get home 24th jan! I am enjoying them so might as well just crack on 😁 just don’t say out loud and your brain won’t know 😆 Yep I’d be the same I don’t like rich to be right! 😆
Hello!! Thank you so much for sticking with me and your lovely comment about my projects. I am really loving The Odyssey SAL, I think I'm picking it up tonight as I've lost track of time and another part has been released (and I've ofc not stitched the last one!). I have the Very Viking one too, that's on the list to do (as are a few other QC ones, I really do love the style)! What fabric/thread colour combo have you gone with for it? Speaking of loving stuff - I loved your tacosaurus from a few weeks ago on IG!
@@CraftyRogueGamer Ooohh don't get me started I'm also wayyyy behind my stitching 🙄. I'm using Silvery Moon 32ct Murano Lugana from Zweigart and DMC threads nrs 3848, 3847, 3849 (teals) and 333 (purple). Perhaps I will get mine out tonight aswell 😁 Thank you so much! It is the first plushy I made in years. I'm currently working on a Rowlet. Don't know whether it will turn out right though XD We will see...
The colours sound fab for Very Viking! I'm just getting The Odyssey out now, I got preoccupied so I'll not get much in but something is better than nothing! Ooooh Rowlet!! I can't wait to see how it turns out! I bow down to anyone who can do the witchcraft that is crochet, my hands and brain don't work that way 😂
@@CraftyRogueGamer well I think you will finish The Odyssey quicker than that I'll finish Very Viking...I am constantly thinking about which colour to put where 🤪 I'll post a picture of Rowlet when he's done ^^ well if it works out ofcourse :p
I don't do well with colour choices as I go, so I feel you with that one!! I've had some unpicking to do with The Odyssey but I'm good, we're getting there! Keeping an eye out for Rowlet (or not - I'm sure he'll be fab though!)
I still haven’t finished part 1 of Narina 😂. Have finished and framed Bulbasaur and about to start Charmander (443 stitches x 11 months). I’ve recorded a finish parade which needs to be edited as it wasn’t in my WIP parade. I’ll pop a picture on Instagram tomorrow. Bugs me they are not in the right order too 😂. I don’t count stitches but I have set goals.
Is it bad that you not finishing Narnia makes me feel a bit better about my Bulbasaur and you finishing it and being on to the next one?! I thought I'd done more on it and reloaded Pattern Keeper and cross checked it against what was on the fabric to make sure that was exactly how shoddy a start I'd made 😂 Seriously though, congrats on the fully finish and being onto the next one (in the correct order ofc 😁) - looking forward to seeing it! I'm still a bit fuzzy on tightening up on goals, I have some ideas that will better fit how I stitch and avoid me swapping out constantly. So kind of not doing one thing a week say on Epic Pokemon but doing a month's worth in one go and then putting it away for example. I need some kind of structure to hold me accountable so that December 2024 isn't a hot mess of stitching to meet goals again 🤣
