Also most of the fires in California are not because of climate change but rather poor forest management. The brush that needs to be control burned but it never is due to low funding because unlike the eastern forests, the western forests are federal land.

About 90% of the trees up there did NOT survive. They're dead and in the process of being cut down. The amount of dead, dry pines is a very serious hazard right now. Still standing does NOT mean survived. And no, not all structures burnt. Just most of them.

the problem is how these forests were clear cut logged and replanted without diversity and especially without the correct amount of mycellium/mushrooms to help rot and decay the underbrush. without the mushrooms the forest floor is tinder. when you clear cut you kill all the mycellium not just the trees, the mushrooms need SHADE and moisture, they wont return to the location if its dry and or sunny. we have to stop clear cutting forests immediately and return to horse logging or start drone logging.

yeah almost all of the b-roll footage showing the trees in the area show almost nothing but 1 type of tree. whats terrible is that monoculture like this is typical of american reforestation projects up until very recently. it also makes me wonder if those trees are even native to the region, because in many places where wildfires are 'natural', the native trees can survive the fires because they evolved with them, to the point that new trees wont grow unless the fires 'activate' the seeds

$740 billion a year on endless wars and you’re telling me we can’t afford to send families $2,000 a month to pull them through?
I don’t want to hear it.

    1) yes climate change is important but it’s misleading to leave out other factors like forestry (mis)management
    2) stop saying “literally” everything. I literally this, we literally that, it’s literally blah blah. No. You don’t actually mean LITERALLY. You mean figuratively, metaphorically.

The fires were started by old power lines though, PG&E doesn't replace them after 80 years, you can probably go see for yourself, take a drive on State Route 70 and you will see the ancient transmission lines.

even if the exterior and structure of your house is inflammable, the exterior can get hot enough to ignite everything inside. It'll probably prevent your home from anything short of being completely engulfed in flame.

Review building codes and institute mandatory items that will mitigate the risk to home loss by the insurers as a prerequisite to reinsurance on the home.
The price of the homes will increase in build cost that insurance may not cover, forcing some of those people to move away - reducing the population of homes to be lost again from wildfire.
