That's my personal reason for loving this episode. They are all tremendously talented. The tv stars of today are nothing next to those who had to get it right the first take- those with actual talent and not just a pretty face.
Jeez, I love Terry Jones, but I wanted to see more of Graham's snake dance :(...DAMN. And just observe John Cleese's expression closely between 6:49 and 6:54....There are no words to express the magnitude of hilarity that man can create without uttering a word.
Thank you so much for sharing this BEAUTY with us ESMR! The work of Monty Python is "a blessing, a blessing from the Lord!" Humankind as a whole needs to see this more... Maybe we'd understand how are we living, beyond languages difficulties. Thank you for your attention, Arthur J. P. Lewis, Mrs.
The title sequence the Pythons were parodying at :33- and I saw the original!- was "THE DEBBIE REYNOLDS SHOW", a very short-lived situation comedy she starred in for NBC during the 1969-'70 season, with a sentimental theme she sang under the opening title {"Just A Little Love"}, and the cast jumping about and enjoying a picnic in slow-motion...by mid-season, a new instrumental theme and title sequence replaced that one, but the series was a goner [Debbie as "Lucille Ball"?]. Never syndicated!
After watching Terry Jones' tassle-riffic striptease, I thought "hey, that'd be an awesome way to get people to pay attention to politics again, even if it's just for the trainwreck factor!" Then I realized a minute later that I couldn't remember what he'd said or even what his speech was about...so much for that idea! lol
+Spameggsausage Yes, but nobody gets that these days. It just looks like the Pythons are being racist. People don't realize what television was like back then. It's the same with a number of other sketches where racists terms are used in jest. Without understanding the culture back then, it just looks incredibly offensive these days. But don't get me wrong. The pythons are and always will be the tops in comedy (English or otherwise) in my books.
@pockypurse Yup, the right-most student, he is... He's the first one to start clapping too, if you notice. For some inexplicable reason that fact always cracks me up :)
Anyone have any idea where that stock footage of the Huns and Romans came from? I'd watch Attila the Nun. Every episode. On DVD. "It's all right. They're students"-Show's well worth the admission, I'd say! Carol Cleveland breathing heavily should have been the focus on an entire episode. Terry Jones: Showing it takes a real man to strip with unwavering enthusiasm on National Television.
+meme hell Oh it's totally racist but that's kind of the point. This is a parody of cookie-cutter US sitcoms and this kind of stereotype was not uncommon until the mid-60s.
Terry Jones is so adorable!!!!!
Terry Gilliam's animations are consciousness-expanding
You ever see a sexier male dancer than Terry Jones? I think not! This is my absolute favorite episode...so many great skits back to back!

I like it when Graham talks lofty
"well well well well well well..."
I'm almost shocked Atilla the Pun didn't make it to the episode.
That was the most informative striptease I've ever seen.
Carol Cleveland= heaven
When his character has a moustache, Terry Jones looks just like Ron Jeremy.
After watching Terry Jones' tassle-riffic striptease, I thought "hey, that'd be an awesome way to get people to pay attention to politics again, even if it's just for the trainwreck factor!" @eviljoel It's Monty Python. It's genius enough to both be extremely hilarious and still very sexy for all at the same time.
Hrmmm.. in the doctor/cabaret skit, I think one of the "students" is Neil Innes. xD
O God... Eric Idle in blackface... that would not fly today
that was kind of the point, they were making fun of the racist crap on old tv shows
4:10 what with all the janitors

thats a first. terry jones playing a man and michael palin playing his wife.
I knew the opening they parodied so well. It's was from the original opening of the Debbie Renyolds Show that was airing at the time!!!
Esto fue realmente ...BARBARO. 😂😃😄

am I alone in thinking that Carol Cleveland looks pretty hot in that outfit?
Thank you. I was wondering about that.
Drugs were hella strong back then.

I like the way you think.
Las groupies están só sweet😆
@meticulator i've seen this here on youtube a couple of times and am surprised you're the first to post that... jean paul so true!
That's the silliest idea I've ever heard of. A piece of Monty Python merchandise not available in Britain?
Justin Trudeau better be taking notes.
Leave it to Terry Jones to make politics SEXY. Lots of fanservice in this episode, in general.
Eric Idle in blackface. Wow.
Anyone have any idea where that stock footage of the Huns and Romans came from?
I'd watch Attila the Nun. Every episode. On DVD.

Terry Jones: Showing it takes a real man to strip with unwavering enthusiasm on National Television.
Graham Chapman is most disturbing as a woman.
I'm not complaining
...Attila the re-run? (bloody repeats)
Terry Jones stripping might just be my favorite thing right now.
@varunachar87 I think it's a parody of the Braidies.
Carol Cleveland looked pretty hot in any outfit.
OMG Terry Jones....
Huzzah!

2:44
I'm trying to figure out who's more feminine....
Charmin ultra soft is bad for your butt!
Um... Are they really using blackface in the mid-70s?
lol shit
this comment is on Jan 1 2010
