    That waft at 7:50 was insane. I don’t think I’ve ever seen gluto go for nair 2 into waft and I’ve been watching him play for a while. Could be wrong but man that was clean. And then to finish it with a waft shield break was just nasty. Gg!

    NA doesn't suck ... they just too segregated.
    So we get many tourbaments like this which is missing a ton of NA talent.

    • @user-zs8xt4fw2x
      @user-zs8xt4fw2x 17 днів тому +1

      Tbh I think the "NA suck" stuff is mostly just a response to some of NA badmouthing EU in the past, and calling the rankings biased towards Japan (people been trying to say this since Fall PGR in 2019).
      But yeah just cuz NA is behind Japan right now, doesn't mean it isn't a stacked region.
      People just have a lot of pride in their regions.

    • @LoadedKlip
      @LoadedKlip 17 днів тому

      @user-zs8xt4fw2x agree. If NAs top 100 actually showed up to the same tournaments ... they would be similar to Japan.
      Heck even Tweek and Leo ... teammates... rarely go to the same tournament.

    • @user-zs8xt4fw2x
      @user-zs8xt4fw2x 16 днів тому

      @@LoadedKlip somewhat true yeah, NA depth can absolutely upset top NA and Japan talent but, I would argue Kanto an Kansai depth is clearly stronger than average NA depth. This has been said by top players traveling to Japan for years, they just have the advantage of regularly playing top Japan talent online and off. Like see AK losing to Ocha and Ike or Goblin losing to Futari no Kiwami and SUZUNE. With the exception of maybe Futari, no one of those are top 100 players in Japan. Japanese depth is just able to make those sets more frequently than NA depth but that doesn't mean the gap is so far that NA doesn't also do it - it's just less frequent.
      Last year NA and Japan performed comparably in the rankings but this year probably isn't looking good for NA. Japanese players do benefit from opportunities, but even then things like Maipans run to 17th beating Zackray and Tea at DELTA happen out of the blue when he usually places 193rd-513th at Japanese majors.
      Regardless the rankings (which is not the same as skill) are probably ugly for NA and EU this year. That 50-50 split between NA and Japan is going to be best case scenario for NA. If the season ended today, Japan has 3 of the top 5 and probably a majority in the 10-20 range and a significant majority of the top 50. Partially because Japans rising top 20 talent, Snow, Raru, Doramigi, and TamaP have a dominant record against NA, but also just Japanese depth getting a lot of wins on NA.
      Hopefully next season NA does better with the chances they get. It's gonna be harder because NA will have fewer points but - it's still more than doable for NA to get back on even footing or even have the better season. I mean just look at Cirque - it that was the normal Japan vs NA tournament, NA would be looking good

    676 players. Numerous top 150 players. Handful of top NA players. Wild it doesn’t constitute as a major. Most of these guys had they frequently traveled outside of the confines of their region they’d cause a lot of upsets. All bracket busters. The quality in America isn’t low it’s just widespread or not dense in any region bc travel is egregiously expensive. The risk reward is never worth it.

      Small correction, for ultimate it just had 495 entrants. That said, no reason to not call it a major if you want. A lot of the community consider nationals majors.
      This just happens to be where LumiRank makes the cutoff.
      Of course there's a couple months to go still, but just comparing it at the moment to the lowest scoring major atm, Maesuma U'22.
      LTC: One top 5 player, one top 20 and 3 top 50 players
      M: 2 top 5, 4 top 20s and maybe one or two top 50 players.
      So yeah there's a difference, but it's still an arbitrary cut off

      @@user-zs8xt4fw2x Small correction for your small correction, Shadic and Hurt currently don't have the point value of top 5 players in the Lumirank TTS. The TTS goes off of the previous season's rankings and will only increase a player's value if they hit a certain placement at a highly tiered event. And the highest point value that a player can increase their point value to is 250 points, or the equivalent of a player ranked 11-15th.
      And the part that's really messed up is that because of how this system works, Shadic is only valued at 150 points (equivalent to being ranked 21-25th) despite the fact that he hit the requirement for a player to increase their value to 150 points 3 separate times (1st at Cirque, 2nd at Collision, and 1st at LG Invitational). This also means that MuteAce and Dabuz individually counted for more points for this event despite the fact that Shadic has had a much better season than both of them.
      Also Hurt's 2nd at Kagaribi did nothing to increase his point value because you get 200 points for placing 2nd at a P tier, which is the equivalent to being ranked 16-20th, which was the range Hurt was ranked in last season. Also 3rd and 4th at a P tier increases your value to that same 200 point value, so not only are TamaP and Zackray worth the same amount of points as Hurt, they're worth more than Shadic lol.

      Yeah system is imperfect, but it roughly does a solid job of evaluating the difficulty of an event. Like if season ended today Dabuz is sadly losing points as he's probably not even top 30.
      Despite the flaws though it's more adaptable than previous ranking systems and still rightly judges U'22 to be the tougher event (thee rankings I gave were roughly what happens if season ends today)
      For the most part I haven't found any real disagreements by what roughly puts into tiers - except c tiers but those events are going to be wonky anyway - as the multipliers are supposed to help isolated regions get c tiers

      The one event, I think it is overvaluing a bit is UltCore.
      Gluto still has top 5 points when he's maybe top 20 now. So that event is like
      3 top 20 and 5-6 top 50. Not saying that it isn't a major - but I think it's the weakest case outside that Luminosity invitational where like only half the players seemed to take it seriously

      Bro this wasn’t even a major, I think Japan is top tier and very good but I also think there’s some Japanese bias to act as if they are unstoppable. For a period the best of Japan was coming to America and not doing much.
