William Brown is one of the Forefathers and first purchaser of lands (A War of 1812 Black Refugee from the Chesapeake Bay area of Virginia). He named the settlement “Africville” and went on to sell and rent lots to others. He is hardly mentioned as the “American Black Refugees of 1812” are usually not mentioned in the media. He was The Forefather of Africville.
He would be the Forgotten Pioneer.

This is a great story and thank you for the coverage, I had no idea. But why when these stories are told, its a must to mention the blacks that have done well? Lets mention the folks that didnt and arent doing well. The normal folk. Seems we always have to prove value to just exist and want normal life.
