I think you will also find it interesting that the word Ukraine itself appears hundreds of years before Russia was even created, which was as a grain source under Mongol occupation. WTF are you talking about? Greek settlers that lived in the southern "Ukraine" we conquered by Ottoman empire in 1500s and when Russia defeated them in min 1700s.. the lands became known as New Russia and the newly founded cities were all called with Greek names.. No one ever called it Little Russia.... The slaves that lived in those lands were called Little Russians in 1300s. Colonization? occupied its territories? what?

i would like to see more archival film of Kyiv and Ukrain from the early 1900s and more about the exudus or migration of many Ukraaninans to the USA in the late 1900s to the early 1900s. How did that come to happen. The USA is very very far away... yet many ukranians came and settled in North Dakota and surrounding areas in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

Sorry, but I don't know of any more film footage about Ukrain from these periods. Maybe in ex-Sovjet archives...(?)
The map displayed on 2:05 is wrong. The Republic of Soviet Moldova (capital on Kishinev - Chisinau) was never a part of Ukraine.
Tell that to the makers of this film (made in the 1950s or 1960s)...
