In this homily for the 1st Sunday in Advent, 2023 Father Joseph Morgan CPM, preaches about what you need to do in this upcoming Advent 2023 season.

The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.
This is why at my mothers funeral I thanked her for raising us Catholic. I kissed her on the forehead and they closed the coffin.

Problem is catholicism won't save you. Only the blood of Jesus Christ on the cross! Also, it's not biblical correct to pray to Mary! Read your bible folks and stop listening to these so called priests.
We Need More Traditional Priest, Like The FATHERS Of MERCY !👍💪🙏⛪
We need faith that Jesus is was and will always be the son of God our Father who told us the truth.
With faith we can move mountains to block divert Noah's cataclysmic East to West tidal wave deluges to come every 40 years for the next millennium it takes the earths orbits to eclipse the nucleus of our stars Oort cloud magnetosphere. First major conjunction of mercury and Venus will be in 2033 and every 40 years thereafter for the millennium of peace if humanity accepts Jesus as their Christ Messiah.
Profess the word of God become flesh for your redemption and the kingdom of God is at hand if you take up your cross.
You need to appreciate that you can attend mass, any mass, without being arrested or killed.

We can and should be practically prepared and have our 3 days of darkness kit (I have one) but God may decide that we will die and not survive at that moment in time. So, I agree that our most important preparation is having a clean soul. Like Mother Angelica said, " We are all called to be great saints. Don't miss the opportunity. "

All you have is NOW. Go to Confession and be forgiven your sins. A Priest told me that when your are given absolution its as if you were a baby and just got Baptized. Jesus does not remember your sins. How great is the feeling every time I go to Confession and receive Jesus in Holy Communion! Thankyou Lord!

Thank you Father Joseph Morgan CPM. God bless you. I got my six candles blessed for the three days of darkness ready... and thanks be to God that I got it for free. The Priest at the parish where I attended blessed for me, he came to bless my condo, I gave a small donation for Masses say for my family, etc, etc. It is so true we will not be saved by spices and candles. Deo gratia.

While it is true these things don't save us, these objects can be useful sacramentals; the Church has set apart many of these things to inspire and motivate good thoughts and to increase devotion. They also seem to act as a filter of sorts because they give scandal to the protesting and feeble mind both inside and outside the Church, especially during these days.

@@rosemaryhirneisen7705 Well, if no light will burn except that of a holy candle made from beeswax, how do I light the match to light the candle? Some say these candles will light themselves. Well perhaps for those it a TOTAL state of grace, but what about the rest of us? Seriously,. do not worry about these things!!!
@@ToothTwister77 The virgins werent prepared with their oil..how did that work or for them? Those who didn't cover their door lentils with the lambs blood.. how did that work out for them? Agree that first we are to spiritually prepare .. but physical preparation is important too.

For some reason, as a child when I first listened to this Advent Scripture, I became sick with anxiety. Only in recent decades have I made peace with this scripture in Faith and Hope. Such a shame I wasn't blessed with the Joy of meeting my Savior at that young age. Talk to your children about the joy of knowing Jesus, very early. Very early!

Yes prepare for both but put the EMPHASIS on preparing your soul FIRST.
The Holy Spirit came to me in March 2022 God came to me in a flame of fire and he said to me tell your family and I asked tell them what he showed me what I must say and I told them he’s here he’s coming they said to me who’s here who’s coming I told them Jesus!!! Jesus is coming we have to repent! I said this when an urgency and I told them we must go we can’t stay and I told them come with me but they didn’t believe me they were so involved in worldly distraction everything he said is absolutely correct We have to prepare and seek Jesus daily absolutely.

Father Morgan's homilies are so great and enlightening that I always followed them. They encouraged us to live a holy life in preparation to meet Jesus our God and just Judge at the end of time. Let's pray for one another that we obey what God wants us to do for we will be judged according to what we have done which brings us in the state of God's grace of eternal life!

I had this analogous thought while listening to your podcast. If you are packing for a trip and you put a spare tire in the back of your car, but you don't know how to change it, you haven't checked if there are holes in it, and there's no gas in your car, how are you ever get to destination?

My dear father, you are so right! Particular concerning the end, i have bees, so i have candles. I have a hawthorn bush i will be harvesting this yr, but i am prevented from receiving the Sacrament of confession! Which is a thorn, but i live with the Lady, and i have all. I thankyou for your words

The beeswax candles are to survive the supernatural event that will supposedly happen on earth and allow us to live past the calamity of the "3 days of darkness".
Confession and being in the state of grace are things all Catholics should strive to be in in order attain salvation when God determines our time to go. So that is an event that's post death.
Those are two differnt events, both can be prepared for together. The former is the continuing existence on earth, the latter is life after death.

Personally, I cling to BOTH - staying here (alive) and the 2nd Coming. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with wanting to stay alive and not die. But I do pray that we are in the home stretch and that there isn't much more of this hayride that we have to endure. And that faithful Catholics are now waking up to what many (strident) Protestants are hammering on is very telling.
