I am from Bangalore. I had a lengthy stay at Chennai and my respect to all Tamil people has increased multiple times. I have started liking everything about the people and the place here. Very clean city, good quality of life, people with ethics everywhere.
My 4 years in Tamilnadu were very special. Theres a vibe you get there as a Telugu person thats not found anywhere else. Tamil people are an inspiration in defending their identity with passion and thinking of long term consequences for any action and no, its not wrong at all. Anyone who says that its wrong, are either naïve or blindly nationalistic or has their own agenda. Ive had my mobile stolen there during midnight by a group of guys but other than that one dark spot, my B tech time in Coimbatore was very memorable. The word Madrasi never felt like an insult to me and people there were very warm with exceptions like anywhere else. Planning to visit Madhurai once the vaccine arrives. By the way, enakku Tamizh nalla varum.
I've been to an engagement where the bride is from Tamil nadu and bridegroom is from Orissa. Me and the bridegroom are the only two people who know both Hindi and Tamil. The amount of translation work I did that day 😁😁😁
English la pesalamee.. here also the same thing, my brother knows : sowrashtra,Tamil, my bhabi knows: kannadam, telugu, hindi. . Both communicate only with English
I completely get it why Tamilians protest any form of Hindi Imposition. You know I forgot to read and write my mother tongue Bangla simply because of Hindi and not because of English. Because when I was being shifted to a new school to be in 8th grade, there I was been introduced to Hindi with English unlike in my previous schools where I studied my mother tongue Bengali with English. Now learning a new language is not a problem. But the problem is that Hindi as a second language came as a way of Replacement for my mother tongue Bengali unlike English which did not replace it. I didn't realize its complications then but I realize it now. And that's why those who protest Hindi Imperialism they don't necessarily protest English. Because they fear that it's actually Hindi which will take away their mother tongue. And you can clearly understand it from an instance of my case. At least Tamilians clearly understood it.
@Siddhant raj As if u keep on travelling to the states all the time? What ever language you support, remember one thing.. a good thing will be good in all languages and a bad thing will be bad. I studied about Thiruvalluvar and Kannagi in my Hindi book only. I had one poem of Bharthiyar translated in Hindi my Hindi book. Even if you support Tamizh, don't be blindfolded by your politicians and try to know things by yourself. Disregarding Hindi people as panipuri sellers or marwadi is another misunderstanding. Hindi is a new language and Tamizh is Classical one so there is no comparison. After learning Tamizh, I realized that this language also needs to be taught and researched in Universities all over India.
Hindi had killed many north indian languages.... That is the reason why we are not able to differentiate between punjabi, Gujarati, marathi, bengali,.... The same we don't alow our language to be destroyed by hindi....
Thank you and good that you support Tamizh. Actually many people in TN can speak Hindi fluently. It is not that we Tamilians don't want to learn Hindi, it is juz that we love our language and we don't want anyone to force us to learn any other language (not only Hindi). The students who attend DBHPS examinations in TN is increasing day by day and infact the number is higher when compared to other southern states. This is also a proof that we do support Hindi as well. No wonder people from northern parts get irked when few people here refer them as "marwadees", we understand... We too feel the same when people in north call us "Madraasees".
Seems years of struggle and lives of 1200 Tamizh youth sacrificed during anti hindi agitation paid. We Tamizhs made our point very clear to hindi imperialists.

as a Non-Indian, I find it very interesting that each state in India has a different identity (both linguistic and historical). A lot of us non-Indians tend to lump all of India into one huge mixed-smorgasbord, as if all of India was one thing only (only this or only that). But when I watched many videos here on YTB about the difference between south of India vs North of India and stuff like that, I noticed that even the cultural mentality can differ from state to state (even among the different states of the south for example). I had three Indian guys studying with me at the University here in Warsaw, in Poland (they were studying a program in English, just like me). One guy was from Tamil Nadu, and the two other guys were from the north (I forgot which region). But the Tamil guy that I was classmate with confirmed to me that Tamilians don't like using Hindi because they want to protect their Tamil identity. So this video is so true. I can relate somewhat. :D

Here, we can observe people are arguing over languages, I don't understand why people do so. Also I have a question to all the Tamil brothers and sisters:- when you are having no problem to learn English(a foreign language), then why so much hate for Hindi(an Indian language)? If we go to Maharashtra, Orissa, Bengal, Gujrat etc. they have their own state languages, still they have no problem in learning Hindi. We Telugu people also feel proud of our language, but we don't hesitate to learn Hindi. Let's assume a situation, where a Tamil person goes to some place in any part of the country. How will he communicate? Tamil is not spoken everywhere, and English is spoken by only few people. Majority of Indians can understand and speak in Hindi. So learning Hindi makes things easier for everyone. Having Hindi as a common language is not a threat to any regional language, instead it makes easier for a person to learn the regional language quickly. Also a common language helps in uniting people.
Y Hindi out of all other languages ,how is that fair. It's much fairer to learn English since it's a global language. There's no need for unnecessary national sentiments here.

Ama va saar? Then follow tamil religion no? Why follow jeebus and other middle eastern gods ?
@@ishaanchaudhry7275 so as of your opinion who's tamil god???
Exactly ☺

I had one poem of Bharthiyar translated in Hindi my Hindi book. Even if you support Tamizh, don't be blindfolded by your politicians and try to know things by yourself. Disregarding Hindi people as panipuri sellers or marwadi is another misunderstanding. Hindi is a new language and Tamizh is Classical one so there is no comparison. After learning Tamizh, I realized that this language also needs to be taught and researched in Universities all over India.

No wonder people from northern parts get irked when few people here refer them as "marwadees", we understand... as a Non-Indian, I find it very interesting that each state in India has a different identity (both linguistic and historical). :D

Nice video guys. it refreshed my memories of chennai stay. Fell in love with chennai culture and the beaches.
