Sadly, we have raised this group of sub-achievers. I enrolled my son in a soccer league here in a suburb of Houston Texas. He had fun, made some friends, and learned some skills from a great, Brazilian coach. They never won in any tournaments. At the end of the season, we had a lunch for the kids and their families. I was SHOCKED when the coach came out with a box of trophies!!!! I asked him, what the heck is this? He said "Participation Trophies"!!! Next year, my son was enrolled in a different program.
