These kind of performances are actually better than his albums. His albums are good but he’s so talented it’s like he doesn’t know what direction to go. Amazing talent.
There are a lot of Blues Musicians today that create "Music Studio" albums that really play down their abilities. They do this to make the people paying the bills happy but their live shows are amazing. It really sucks that the Music Studios don't appreciate the Blues but it is true. Kirk Fletcher, Samantha Fish and so many more. They are never as good on their studio albums unfortunately 😢
Yip, almost all of his live recordings I much prefer to his recorded albums. But then the live versions recorded at Shangri-La made me hope the truth of that is dawning, on someone.
The dude can play his ass off, amazing lyricist, rocks the piano and has an absolutely iconic voice. Like wtf!?!? The dude is all the stuff. Could listen to him for days
Marcus I met you at the Tap House in Amarillo and was able to see you in San Antonio at the Majestic with your Dad. You told me you were a 5th generation musician and I said I’ll be praying for you. I had no idea how incredibly talented you are and I’m very happy to see you doing so well. Congratulations on your recent marriage and I will continue to be praying for you. Take the high road always, if you ever make it to Boerne TX you have a friend here. God Bless! Will Smith-Oak Hills
Just wonderful I’d buy an album 10 times over with just him and a guitar playing like this, we all talk about his guitar abilities but his voice is just something else, f**king amazing 🔥🔥🎸
Just phenomenal, it's obvious he has an unreal understanding of the guitar, along with just an amazing voice, and playing talent. I've seen him several times, once it was in Philly and I had a preshow ticket where got to meet him and the band. He was so genuine, personable, and cool. He and the band took a really great pic with me, all signed my banner that comes with the preshow, got other great merch with it as well. Just a terrific experience. Fan for life, will see him whenever I can. Stay true bro, fight the demons, be there for my grandkids.
One of the baddest out there... 1st time seeing him live was in Winter 2016ish at Buddy Guy's Legends. I've been hooked ever since. Been to one of his Family Reunion Festivals in NC in 2019. It was awesome! Sounds great!
Brilliant. My parents had the Josh White recording on 78rpm back when I was a lad. Love this tune and, as you'd expect, Marcus does it full justice. Bravo!
It's been quite a while since such a short video took me this far... into the escape of the mind and the blues! A big congratulations to the man and the guitar that accompanies him wonderfully!
OMG! Marcus’ playing and singing are pure good vibes! And the Stratocaster and the Dumble are just perfect! Thank you guys 🙏🏻 This is soooo gooood 😉😊🙏🏻
Marcus has to be under pressure, if he can lean on the band, he lays back. His abilities with rhythm and melody are amazing. Which doesn't come through as much with keyboards and horns. Also his live tone is pretty tough, way too much gain. When he plays cleaner, it brings out more musical ideas.
A guitar, an amp, a cable, a mic and talent. Just this.

Totally agreed 👍

Saw him live in Hamburg 2 month ago, killer tone, killer show !!!! Only knew him from Carter's, Norms, and other nerdy vids
If you know his albums, then you know that he clearly knows which direction to go. 6 albums, 1 ep and not one bad song in his whole discography.
Feels illegal to be here this early

Man he’s underrated as a pure guitar player. He’s doing some pretty complex stuff very casually while singing lol.
That'd be the first time I've seen the word underrated used to describe Marcus!
HI from France, it's 11h23 a.m and what a great pleasure to watch this vidéo. Thank you so much Marcus !!!
Always a pleasure to hear him. So much heart and soul ...
Marcus - King!

My god. Hes a generational talent. One of my favorite guitar players, a true inspiration
That young man represents the future of blues guitar. Play on, Marcus!

Jack Pearson is be
I fucking love this kid
that was insanely good
If the owner is a good player, the owner is often the best person to demo the guitar since he is so used to playing it and getting the most out of it.
Dang!
show off lol so dirty... the the buzz of the amp, so classic
with dog!! cool!!!
Nice Strat
He don’t need no band do he?😎
Just waitin' for the ol' hound dog to start to sing!
MARCUS KING FUCKING LEDGEND!!!!!!

This kid puts everyone else to shame.
Yep. Everyone is full of shame because of him.
👍
His John Deere hat should be amended to say "Serving agriculture but not the farmer 150 years"
2:20 ah ? Well
