i wish beauty standards were more talked about and resolved for women -hearing the disappointment in explaining those products is so universal. I love how you have stood up to it!!!! Beautiful inside and out Uyen😊🩵
Your avocados are also a completely different breed of avocado. German supermarkets, and western ones carry Hass avocados by default, which are the smaller ones that turn an almost black green when ripe, which are also grown in vietnam. Half the issue with produce in western countries is that because it's shipped such far distances to get to a grocery store from larger farms, it is picked before it's ready and table ripened at home, robbing the(fruit especially) product of the ability to develop flavor. The avocados you showed off looked like Booth avocados.
Here in England, avocados are mainly imported from Peru or South Africa. They are very hard and you have to wait until they are ripe, but quite often they are rotten inside. It is so frustrating because Spain produce delicious avocados, but they are not often sold here, which is strange, because Spain is a lot nearer!
But that's not the case with avocados. They don't ripen on the tree but on the ground when they fall off. The quality of avocados in Germany varies a lot. I find the ones in Kaufland the best, they are relatively large and buttery and eggy. You can get avocados thrown at you in Turkish markets, and if you're lucky, they're very good (but not always).
Oh now I understand why rock sugar is medicinal when you explained that! I mean if you aren't drinking sweetened things sugar can be a boost of energy. When I worked at the greenhouse, old people would often carry candies on them in case they got fatigued.
Thank you for the tour Uyen! It's funny how in most countries the cheap wine is on the lowest shelf 😂 in my language when we mean cheap wine we actually say "squat wine" (directly translated) since you have to squat down to get it
In America we call it bottom shelf because it's literally on the bottom shelf. Same applies to other alcohols with the good/expensive stuff being called top shelf because it's on the top shelf.
In the Netherlands we also have shrimp crackers that we always get with our chinese food (which is partially Indonesian as well because of our past). But for some reason we thought: make them giant rectangles, that is way more appealing then chip size. It's so odd, but I personally loooove them. We do also sometimes do get chip size prawn crackers, especially when they're spicy.
OMG life changes so fast I kind of forgot about the sugar thing. I'm not Vietnamese, I'm your neighbor a bit down south (Indonesia). I remember when I was a kid, the only way I consume sugar is through main meal dishes (as like seasoning), in milks (they contain a bit of sugar, right), or when I get sick, my mom would make me a cup of hot water, mixes in like 2-3 tsp of sugar, and soak digestive biscuits. And that'll be my meal before taking medicine. I think it's just because sick kids tend to not want to eat anything that's not SUPER yummy, so sugar water and biscuit it is.
Indonesian food needs to trend globally. I won’t lie, I do terrible American things to Indonesian recipes, but I’ve had it properly made and the real thing is so delicious!
It makes sense to me that beers like Budweiser and Heineken would be popular in a hot place like Vietnam. They're light, refreshing, and not overwhelming. I wouldn't want to drink a stout beer or imperial IPA when it's 25+ degrees C and 100% humidity out there. I'm not fond of Bud or Heinie, but I also wouldn't be mad if someone offered me a cold one.
4:34 oh god I want shrimp crackers now!!! Here in the Netherlands we got them from Indonesia so we call them kroepoek (or in Indonesian/German spelling: krupuk) and you can buy them pre-fried and ready to eat in any supermarket 😋

O:50 bamboo pillow, 👍 I saw them in movies and always wondered about them. When you said they are great in hot weather, I immediately ordered one from Amazon. I usually use a fluffy pillow and one filled with Dinkelspreu (chaff?) and they are nice, cosy and warm, much too warm in summer as I tend to sweat a lot. The bamboo pillow is quite hard. it took a bit to get used to it as I sleep laying on the side. So I had to find a position without any pressure on my ear. And I found the bamboo pillow really comfortable, my head has much more air around it so sweating is less a problem now. give it a try 👍 I hope you‘ll like it.
Budweiser, the original, made in Czech Republic, the birthplace of Pilsner style beer, is great. Budweiser, the american one made by Anheuser-Busch, is, as we Germans would call it "Plörrbräu" Bud Light, is flavored water, essentially what you get if you water down a Kölsch. Though I can't be mad at a fellow beer-enjoying nation.

Yeah, I'm English and most English people who drink beer (I hate beer) avoid American beer. There's tons of English beers as well as imported beers. And no English person would drink warm beer, at home they keep it in the fridge and bars have cellars that are naturally cold but are chilled to make them even colder.
Price is one of the reason, another cause is that putting tampons in and out is more likely to irritate your skin thus leading to you spending more in order to heal the wounds.

Our supermarket sells almost everything: locks, helmet, bikes, pots & pans, cookwares, home decor, electrical outlets, computer accessory, gardening supplies, toys, accessories, clothes, electronics, groceries, fresh veg&meat, food court, frozen stuffs, pillows & sheets & blankets... I can't remember everything, the variety of some type of items aren't great but they have it. And I'm not talking about a MALL, just the supermarket inside the Mall.
Maybe cheap labour play some part.
@@anna-ranja4573the bamboo pillow are hollow so they have some bounce to them, but the texture of the weave might be harsh on your face if you sleep side way, need a case if you ever try one.
ice cold beer and shrimp chips, the best combo!
I was shocked to see them selling Strongbow in Vietnam
Oh you have products in Vietnam for women's sanity? Implying what? Just teasing. You're the best! Watch you everyday.
I caught that too :P I also watch some Japanese cooking channels, and sometimes their idiosyncratic use of English is hilarious, but not in a mean way. I knew a Cantonese woman who said that she was going to a certain shop to check out "dudes". It took a while before it was clear that what she meant was something also beginning with a "d" that women sometimes use :P It became a standing joke ;)
I would love to visit one of those someday!
Wow cool!
The Germans and Belgians always have a lot to say about Heineken and the other Dutch beers😂
Uyen I love your food vids your epic hunger and love for food is every woman 😂 and your comments are lovely sharing experiences well done sweet funny lady❤
cool, I will be there at the beginning of Feb!
You can air fry shrimp chips! Just brush it with a bit of oil. Saves a lot of effort
Vietnam seems very interesting, I have this local Asian market, and I once bought the shrimp chips, I had no idea you were supposed to fry them, still I thought they tasted pretty neat (:
Loved this!! Please tour us around a market or something next!🩷
Flavored beer is something that has to catch on worldwide ❤❤❤
pls no. Beer, along with coffee, shouldn't be spoiled by artificial flavor crap. They're good as they are.
@@derhard706 Artificial? Try a Belgian Kriek.
Germany has purity laws for beer. If they want something like a Kriek they have to go to Belgium.
I need a shirt saying 'The thingy' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I think this is my favourite Uyen video!
From this point I don’t drink beer anymore. Only Bia!🍺🍺🍺
It sounds so cute 😄
When it comes to chips I like the salted egg flavor! I wish we had those here.
That's sounds good
Wow, Vietnam is even bigger beer drinkers than us in the UK! Nice!
I found some sweet corn flavored chips in hmart once. They were really good. I want some now.
We also have cooling pads in the us. It very helpful after you have a baby. Honey pot is the brand
After having seen your video on how Germans drink their beer, I don't think they have the right to be all snooty and picky with this drink. I think that honour now goes to the Irish or the Czechs. 😅
