A wonderful piece, brilliantly played. Johann Krebs studied with J S Bach who admired Krebs ability both as an organist and composer. On hearing this piece it is obvious that there are parts very reminiscent of Bach, yet undoubtedly Johann Krebs was one of the really great composers of the late baroque. I very, very much enjoyed your performance Jan. Heartfelt thanks
Wow! What a magnificent work and an equally magnificent performance. Krebs was indeed a master of the organ. In fact some of J.S. Bach's organ compositions are believed to be actually works of Krebs. Thank you for posting this video. Well done!
*___Jan___* , Du *___KANNST DAS___* , das sieht und hört man *___SOFORT !!___*. I am totally fascinated by such young stars with such obvious hhhiiiggghhh potential !!
This is too good to be true!! A third excellent upload in just a few weeks and a 5 star performance that I look forward to replaying to get to know a work and comoser I had never heard of (Google had to be consulted again!) The rapid pedal work at the start leaves me speechless and a comparison with Bach inevitable - it must have been difficult to compose overshadowed by him(?) Many thanks for it
Lass uns an Deiner wunderbaren Kunst weiterhin teilhaben! Vielen Dank!
I have seen you make music of the printed score in any of your videos. Your ability to memorize is yet another facet of your extraordinary gifts which are a delight to behold.
Almost look like you are tap dancing with this piece and having fun with it. Seriously I very much appreciated you rendition and the way you played it. Bravo.
Fabuloso! Elegante y brillante Jan Liebermann.
Thank you for this beautiful performance of a composer that I have never played! It’s lovely music and should be put out there more often to educate the public’s ears to this beautifully written music. Thanks, Jan , for your wonderful performances .
Merci l'artiste !
Amazing to me the control you got: two hands and two feet at the same time bussy... Krebs's music was new to me. I discover new interesting music every day. Thank you
Absolutely wonderful! You sure can tell the influence of J S Bach in this piece. Ur a great lad who reminds me of Sebastian Heindl and look where his talents have taken him! ❤🤗
Time to learn BWV 548, which in the English speaking world we call the "Wedge" P&F - not sure if that translates into German. It is a lot of work, it is arguably the longest prelude and fugue, but you will have a lot of fun playing it ! I had a blast playing it on my senior organ recital.
Greetings from Holland…. You are a supertalented organist! Playing such brilliant pieces by heart is pretty unique. I wish you lots of pleasure in playing!!
Krebs is so Bachy ... another summit of the great organ baroque period but he was perhaps a little 'old school' after 1750 ? Any idea of the date of composition of this piece? I didn't knew, so thanks for the discovery with your wonderful playing 🥰
Another exciting performance! Good repertoire and engaging viewing - not to mention informative for organists. I wondered if Right Foot could have been used more in the lower octave for more assured accuracy for ordinary organists? Are you following strict practice in Baroque organ technique? Or should one be more eclectic?
As a professional pilot, a medical certificate was essential to my personal regulatory paperwork. It appears that playing this beast to this high standard might almost require a similar fitness test. As an aside how can the swell pedal ever be used without growing a spare leg?
Absolutely loved this rendition, so much so I popped into the shop to buy a C D of it. But was disappointed because the only music by KREBS that I could find, was some of his harpsichord music. Shame
Sadly, Krebs active period was both post-Bach, and post Baroque. The new, simpler style galant form was becoming increasingly popular, and the denser, more complex Baroque form considered old fashioned. Kudos to Krebs for sticking to holding the torch for the Baroque form, but the result was he was pretty much ignored his whole musical life. Thus Krebs music became primarily of interest of modern classical organists only.
Krebs certainly learned from his teacher and we have many wonderful compositions from him. He is much better than old Buxtehude too. But, for a toccata, I am very surprised you play it all on one manual with little change of registration: it is not as if there are plenty of opportunities in the music for variation and contrast. It would not be difficult on that organ. You are a splendid organist - but please think about the range of sound an organ can give and make the music become tonally less monotonous more alive. You have an orchestra at your fingertips - why ot take advantage of that. Too many organists today are just so boring.

Kerbs must have had a copy of bwv540 as this is almost a pastiche or homage to the piece.
Krebs was actually Bach's primary disciple, even more than Bach's sons, who moved on to the newer style galant form.
@@holmespianotuning Actually, there are parts of this that echo BWV 548, the "Wedge" fugue.
Sadly Krebs being such a late Baroque composer his music is overlooked. I wish his works were played more often. Thanks for this glorious rendering!!
Incredibly beautiful and genuine Bachian. Krebs did well - and so do you, Jan Liebermann.
Brilliant pedal work there is no holding you back Jan.
Ausgezeichnet -Danke, dass du uns an deiner Spielkunst teilhaben lässt.

Krebs seems to be a Superman with Super Power! Thank you Jan Liebermann for making us aware of his existence with your wonderful organ playing.👍
You are a blessing to the world of pipe organ lovers. ❤❤❤💋

Where’s the love button? Fantastic music video!
Dear Jan, I do have a huge admiration for your work! You impress me as usual with your phenomenal memory and keyboard touch! Thousand Thanks and love!
Jan Libermann, you are a wonderfully talented musician with an exceptional memory!
Reminds me of BWV 540!
yep, prelude is based on the same figuration! but evil 😈
I have seen you make music of the printed score in any of your videos. Your ability to memorize is yet another facet of your extraordinary gifts which are a delight to behold.

Spectacular as Always!!!
Fancy footwork !!!
GOD BLESS
Toccata and Fugue is certainly wonderful, like the classic song and composition. ❤💛🎹🎼
Amazing performance...and all from memory...thank you Jan! 🎶 🎹
Wonderful thank you for sharing Bravo
What a beautiful performance! Greetings from the Netherlands.. I wish you much success!😊
One would think that Krebs had a really great teacher!
On découvre un compositeur vraiment étonnant ! Merci pour votre jeu brillant. Cordialement Olivier
Stunning !!!
Jan, you are amazing, I always enjoy your concerts,

Ongelooflijk, wat een techniek! Maar meer dan dat: ook muziek! ❤
Amazing that he memorized the music!!!
I know!!!!
Glorious!
Fabuloso!
It sounds like the evil minor twin of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in F Major
You beat me to it. Great minds think alike❤
Thank you Jan... God bless you!
Very fine playing! 😁
ThX for sharing this beauty with us, Jan.

Just discovered your JSB GIGUE performance … this is brilliant too! Well done and thank you!
Super gespielt!!!!
Very well done great Video

Very stylish playing and from memory - ausgezeichnet

Suprr sound! Wow!
Suona divinamente, Jan, il fraseggio è incantevole
Absolutely top notch playing of a spectacular composition.
I haven't heard about Krebs before. It sounds awesome! Thank you for sharing it! And, as always, I really enjoyed it!
WOW! Vielen Dank!
Absolutely wonderful! You sure can tell the influence of J S Bach in this piece. Ur a great lad who reminds me of Sebastian Heindl and look where his talents have taken him! ❤🤗

GREAT

Interesting fugue theme.
Some of those very "crunchy" chords in the Toccata remind me of passages in the Dorian Toccata.

Herzliche Einladung nach Groningen, Lutherse kerk an Bachs Geburtstag (21/03/2025) - tolle Schnitger-Orgel…!
Beautiful as usual 😊😊. What is your country of origin?🖖
Bavaria, Germany.

Beautifully played. Very impressive. What organ are you playing?
Says in the description: ‘This piece was performed by Jan Liebermann (18) in Justinuskirche, Frankfurt-Höchst.’

I wonder if Maynard G. Krebs is a decendant of Johan Krebs¿
it looks as if you play the whole krebs by heart - it also sonds : by heart...
Check out his recital from Truro cathedral 2023. Bach. Mendelssohn, widow and durufle. All from memory. Stunning playing.

Jan is nailing the historical performance practice of the Baroque era.....
Just as boring as Bach…
