Thanks for the interview. Great to know the history. Everyone I know that has Luxman equipment swears by it and they don’t let it go unless it’s for an upgrade. It’s always been above my budget but I just bought my 1st piece of Luxman equipment. A used AS55 speaker/amp selector and it’s built like a tank which I appreciate. Looking forward to their 100 anniversary line even though based on their premium price I will have to admire from afar. Rock on!
Hello Fellow Audiophiles And Friends: Thank you Captain Sub for this Important video on the Luxman Audio Company. Going back to the 70's when I was getting started in stereo & audio gear Luxman was always in the forefront of the best quality & sound. Yes they are a boutique stero equipment manufacturer but we also must see how they match up to Macintosh and others. Lenny, God Bless you and your family. TMP from N.J.
I have the laboratory reference series, pre amp, power amp with the VU meters, graphic equalizer, the whole stack basically. I bought it broken at 16 years old with my first student job money, I fixed it and completely restored it myself. Now 10 years later i bought a house and i plan to have it like a centerpiece for my living room.
Thanks for the video Lenny as I started collecting vintage Luxman gear back in 2014 after I retired. I have a Tim de Paravicini influenced set of separates - T-110 FM tuner, C-1000 preamp and M-2000 power amp. I have gear from the 70s, 80s and 90s most of which I have had restored and/or partially recapped. I own 4 power amps, 5 preamps, 4 tuners and hope someday to own a Luxman turntable.
I have been a strictly Luxman guy since 18 yearsold in 1978, my first was a sq507x then the 50th jubilee line l-100 & c-1000/m-4000 my all time favourites . have a small collection as i have never could make my self sell any of them but expanded over the years with a sq507 a l-507 a pd441 turntable a micro seiki mr 711 a micro seiki dd 40 a micro seiki dqx 1000 a micro seiki bl 91 damn this is so infectius :) suddenly you look into the mirror and realise that you have turned into a regular imelda marcos. have been a little naughty lately as i seem to have most of what i like so have been seing a accuphase preamp from 1978 a c.240 on the side still looking for its companion p 400 poweramp. I love every thing about my luxmans the sound quality the musicallity the estetics the build quality , i have from time to time tried other stuff out but have quickly gone back to luxman as they just did not do that thing to my senses that luxman do.
I own two Luxman intergraded amps L110 and L309 and I had the L110 rebuilt from a Factory technician from Luxman in Vancouver. They have so much bass compared to my Yamaha receiver it’s not even close as I put that test thru my Cornwall speakers from a Micro Seike turntable. I’ve had these products since 1975. We were Luxman dealers from are Speaker Lab franchise along with there excellent speaker. There worth there money but the prices are a little scary! Caio TheMouse
About 10 years ago, I bought a bunch of vintage 70s receivers. Pioneer, Akai, Philips, etc. The Luxman R-1070 blew them all away. I've been a Luxman fan ever since.
Inside baseball lesson: Osaka is like Chicago, Tokyo is NYC, LA and DC rolled into one. Osaka’s innovation-based electronics giants include Panasonic/Technics, Luxman and Roland. Osaka rocks!!!
Still have my nodified Luxman PD 284 Direct Drive Turntable with SME 3009 Arm. Sounds great luv it snd never geting rid of it Still looks cool after 40 years !
Lenny my man, what a phenomenal video. I always loved Luxman products, I still do, from solid state to pure tubes from vintage to completely new, their components, particularly amplifiers are incredible. Then, if we go to the golden 70's as I like to call them, despite we have the legendary Sansui AU models or the professional series, Then from Pioneer all the SA series with the blue vu models, huge separates, etc, There is something truly special about Luxman. From the silky, smooth, polished sound to the incredible design. If you look at any of those amps from the mid 70's, every knob, every single part, is not only extremely pleasant to operate, you feel the quality just touching those things; but gorgeous to look at, I don't remember the models but I think the L-35 or so and the following models, with amazing features, separate bass and treble for each channel, all sorts of levels of analog EQ and just fantastic to look at. I really thank you for this one man, with a proper inside man from the company no less, from whom you can see the HiFi love and passion of a lifetime . I can't wait to see the Centennial systems and I hope to be able to get the Anniversary Book. Ears opened, eyes peeled!! thanks again and much love as always from West Spain❤
I have the luxman 509z with the d10x which I bought this year I moved from naim because naim stopped making cd player and I have no regrets the luxman is absolutely incredible.
Hello! As always, I’ve been waiting for some cool videos like this one. However, I was wondering why there aren’t any giveaways? It would encourage fans and give them chance to win some audio equipment. I’m a huge fan and really enjoy every video uploaded here. The only thing this channel needs is some giveaways!
For years starting back in the day I had always equated Luxman with brands like Realistic and maybe Sony being ok but not real quality stuff that everyone would want like Pioneers, Marantz, Sansui, Kenwood and Technics
Luxman HI FI gears ? No way ... Medium quality not more than . Vintage from them are lot of troubles and the new series too much expensive for what we got in the box ...

Always cool to hear the history of grand old name products.

My wife bought me a Luxman R-406 receiver back many many moons ago. It’s 65 W but it kicks like 10 men.

I still love my Luxman L-430 amp.
Great "get"! You are obviously recognized enough for this great interview!
Thanks Glenn!!!
Have you done Audio Technica yet? Would love to own a Luxman or Accuphase someday after my kids graduate college.

De donde en Espana?

I read on some site saying that some Luxman stuff is of Chinese manufacture origin. I always figured they were a safe bet.
Nice!! Interesting.... 🙂
The most interesting comparison, for me, is Luxman vs. Accuphase.
If you ever have questions on that call us we have heard several Accuphase and Luxman together
Would hope there will be Other Pieces!
love all my luxman gear

The only Luxman I own is the L-480 integrated amp. It’s only 70 watts per channel, but it’s a little beast!
For years starting back in the day I had always equated Luxman with brands like Realistic and maybe Sony being ok but not real quality stuff that everyone would want like Pioneers, Marantz, Sansui, Kenwood and Technics
i have missed this fool, thanks
Saying that Luxman has a "rich history" is figurative and literal. Have you seen how much their vintage stuff goes for these days? Yikes!
Yeah the vintage stuff does go for a good bit
I don't have anything from Luxman... for now jejejej
Luxman HI FI gears ? No way ... Medium quality not more than . Vintage from them are lot of troubles and the new series too much expensive for what we got in the box ...
If luxman was a pioneer of hi-fi from the beginning then why haven't I heard of them?
You learn something every day
Still kicking myself over selling my R-117 20 years ago.
