I bought my G29 when I was 14 YO, and is still saving for a 1500$ upgrade today, 3 years later.
That's it! I seriously have to start saving as much money as I can, I just have to get myself a proper sim rig, but I also have to get a gaming PC... yeah and I will DEFFINITELY play racing games since I have totally used my current low budget sim rig... hmph, why do I even lie to myself 😀

my rigs not as impressive as the first one but im 17 and my rig cost roughly $4500 (not including monitor or pc). I have a Trak Racer TR160 with Fanatec DD2, Clubsport V3 pedals, Clubsport SQ shifter, and clubsport handbrake paired with only the nascar wheel for now, but i plan on getting the formula v2 wheel and the porsche gt3 wheel. Once I get my office cleaner and looking how I want it to I might try and submit my rig

I have pretty much the exact setup as the first person, but my rig cost 10K. I guess I could say my rig cost 13K if you include the PC, but I don't see where the other 12K is coming from. I see two possibilities. The First person's Rig, is 25K AUD and not USD, which seem about right in AUDs. Or the person just over paid for everything by buying from a pre-build company.

this is an incredible setup for a 16 year old, but it's probably more like half the $25k stated
never is this setup 25k ... i even have a higher end pc with an 4070ti .. and am5 motherboard with 32gb ram and full simlab p1x frame with the simlab tripple stand .. that was only like 6 to 7k ... so no way this setup is 25k.

The main point of building a setup for me was it can be much cheaper than buying a car and driving it while it still being solid and feeling realistic. My car was 7000 euros, bruh. I can't comprehend spending thousands for gaming setups. Just buy a proper used car at that point.
What about fuel, maintenance costs, tires, insurance, track day pass, and on top of that the risk of crashing and having to pay 3-5k of repair costs when you put in the barriers (not even mentioning repairing your car) lol no I'll stick to sim racing for now. How can you even compare the 2?

Maybe it's just me but the comparison of how much you spent on your rig just seems so goofy. I see it in so many creators videos (not a specific stab at OC at all I love their content) that include these massive numbers of how much their rig cost them as if it makes it so much more impressive. Like show people a 10k rig and a 25k rig and I bet you 50% of people couldn't tell you which is which
