Nice work with the alternators, I have a charter boat with a Cummins 6.7 with a 200 amp alternator which charges the house lithium batteries the start battery is a maxwell capacitor rated at 1800 cca they have a smaller capacity model, the maxwell has an inboard 30 amp charger. The maxwell are very light about 25% of a lead acid and are guaranteed for 10 years plus. A little different wiring and switches required but bulletproof.

Hey Ross, sorry to hear you lost the hard drive. More because of the loss of the video as historical data to refer back to in future, if ever needed. Still, the engine room modules do look great, and I remember what you had to do to get it that way. It's that extra step you throw in from time to time that makes this a truly custom build. Awesome episode, love your teaching. About the harddrive just open it up. Most likely the little arm jumped off the track. There is a couple videos on the tube how to do it. Good luck and keep them coming ♥️

HP makes a USB connected backup system that automatically backs up everything. You’ll never loose anything that you upload to the computer which has the backup drive connected.
Hah Ross ! RTFM indeed ! You've really got those modules fitting together well now ! The engine modules do look like the factory made them to order. Will you move the tent off the hull to crane in upper deck module, or roll the hull outside and integrate there temporarily ? Looks like you could use some gantry cranes like Doug was using on SV Seeker !
Hey Mike,I will have roll the hull straight back which give me the 9 mtrs of length,just enough to fly the deck nose first into some temporary mounts to hold the deck up about 40 cm.Then the work will really begin.Working out the bulkhead module contours.Should be fun.Ross

How important is it to leave the belt guard on the engines? Seems like the module space is guard enough. They just seem unnecessarily difficult to deal with once the engine is installed.
The suspense is building up now , strangely enough , it seems to take no time for you to do all this work when we’re all watching from our armchairs 😉🍻
Is it wrong that I get a little stiffy when I look at a matched pair of brand new Yanmars? Great motors, and so much more reliable than the green motors.

@@LifeOnTheHulls I used to work for Boeing and Douglas aircraft. When commercial airliners are built, they install the tallies and lavatories in semi completed modules. They had the electrics and plumbing installed already. They just hooked everything up and tightened up the bolts etc. I can’t wait to see your future videos. You sure enough make my Thursday! (I hope to win lotto so I can see it in person!!)

Hard drive failures and boatbuilding seem to be bedfellows lately, ‘Magic Carpet’ announced their major issue with their hard drive a few days ago. I guess you guys are pretty hard on them, in terms of intensity of use. Project looks pretty painful right now in terms of complexity - not as physically painful as those several months working in the bilge though. Keep on keeping on.😀👍⛵️
Ross, excuse my ignorance if you have announced already. Have you and Janet decided on a name for your creation yet? It seems all the boat builds l follow on U Tube have got the name sorted fairly early in the project, you are at the pointy end of the operation and l am unsure. Will it be called " Life on the Hulls" or something put together like Damo and Jess have Brupeg. You could go " Janro" or "Rosnet". Whatever it is called it will be build with the skill, love and care befitting a truly magnificent craft.

Maybe think of installing a SSD drive (Solid State Drives/Devices) instead of the conventional hard drive when you purchase your new computer. When you think of SSD drives they, are essentially server drives, that cant crash because they don't use mechanical parts like read/write heads, discs, or motors, their quite similar to a thumb drive.

Should you have chamfered all the edges on those spacer blocks? I'm afraid the edges will be visible after stress and thermal cycles.

Ross at our age hard drives need a little help, just try the pills, you will get your hard drive back. Ask Johnny he’ll have the answer.
