My Grandpap showed me this song a few years ago before he passed. He cracked up laughing listening to it with me. I come back and listen to this every now and again when I think about him.
My dad always says, "Speak to me you diesel demons" and he showed me this song cause it's where he got it from :P So now I listen to this song all the time! Oh, and I'm 14(:
Heard this song for the first time with my dad on a road trip. Brings back good memories. Wish he was still alive so I could share this with him. I miss him so much. Still love the song and my dad for giving me something to cherish
My late father was a trucker and he would do this voice on the CB sometimes for fun. I’ve never heard this song before but now I know where he got it from.
"goodbuddy" is not a cop. it was a term used betwen C.B.ers and truckers to refer each other as a communacations friend. later used to refer to "gay" truckers and C.B.ers. then dropped all together
Just found this song after trying to remember what it's called. My dad had the Road trucking hits in his rig and my brother and I loved this song. Come on come on.
I grew up in my dad’s trucks from the ‘70’s to the early ‘90’s. Dad had this on 8 track along with Cledus Maggard and CW McCall. Good memories good times. He’s been gone now twenty years. Say this may not be the place to ask but back in the day you’d get a free cassette tape by Dan Baker in every case of Shell Rottela fifty weight oil. He had some great truckers songs on the A side. He was a motivational speaker for the trucking industry. So the whole B side was just that. All original music. I’ve scoured the internet looking for a source and only found a few poor covers of his songs. Wore out those old cassette tapes and they’re gone now. Those were real good truckers songs but Mr. Baker really kept them on the clean side 😉 so if you’ve read this far and know of a source I’d be much abliged. Second generation driver here!!
In my math class before spring break my teacher was playing this on the board. Kids were sticking earbuds in their ears to ignore the song, I almost died laughing XD
It's my dad's fault I know this song. Not that it's a problem. Although as my husband is a trucker, he's gotten tired of hearing this but it never gets old to me
This song needs to be remixed, re-released and maybe throw on a dance track for the clubs. It'll either explode heads in a national triggered meltdown, or help some people actually get a sense of humor.
definitly. The city i live in is ultra liberal; when a teacher at the local college showed up for work during a "black lives matter" protest at the school the protestors attacked him and later tried to have him fired. The school didnt have any kind of race problem, it was jsut trying to raise awareness for the "black lives matter" movement. It was pretty stupid since the teacher didnt do anything wrong, he's jewish, and his family moved her fleeing the holocaust. He just came to the school to pick up some folders. Those people would probably crucify the singer if he tried to play that song here.
The comedy brilliance in this piece lies in it's accessibility....homophobes are included in the joke via the viewpoint of law-enforcement executing a coup-de-tat. First heard it at my big brother and our cousins' feet, as they listened to Dr. D, trying hard not to be a pest and get kicked out of the boys' bedroom.... Cherish these memories 50 years on 🥰
The predecessor to the Internet, CB radio. I wonder if it is still used. I am getting ready to try it out. I cancelled Internet at my home over a year ago when it got too expensive and way, way, to commercialized with advertising. Perhaps the vintage CB may be a relief from being bored. I do not like going to the library to use their computer and Internet when I fell board. I wonder if CB radios are still sold.
Indrid Cold Yes. Some of us still use 'em, and I'm just used to having one on after a couple decades of driving OTR. They're handy for learning road conditions ahead, smokey reports, and just listening to the bat**** chatter late at night if you need something to keep you awake. As they aren't used as much locally, they'd be handy if you and some friends want a cheap and easy way to communicate independent of cell phones.
Indrid Cold Yeah you can still find them at truck stops and CB shops, I still have one don't use it, I upgraded to Ham Radio LOL....Good luck!!! We use to have a lot of fun with them.
sorry to whoever said that this is by Cledus Maggard... THEY ARE WRONG. IT IS BY ROD HART. i know i grew up listening to C.B. and trucking songs with my dad. he had the original 45 rpm single that we just about wore out listening to and laughing our butts off
Ah Yes The GOOD OLD DAYS TAKES ME BACK TO A SIMPLER TIME WHEN I RODE WITH MY DAD IN THE OLD TRUCKS WHEN TRUCKING WAS FUN AND IT WAA LIKE A JOB IT WAS MORE OF AN ADVENTURE WHERE THE TRUCK DRIVERS WHERE LOTS OF MEMORIES DAD HAS PAST BUT I STILL DRIVE A TRUCK I WILL BE LAST ONE IN THE FAMILY TREE TO DRIVE IN GOES WAY BACK IN MY FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS WHEN I RETIRE [HAHA] THAT IS IT
When I was a kid, my oldest brother was a "truckie" (Australian trucker) and of course he liked truckin' songs like this and CW McCall and a less well-known guy called Larry Scott. I always found this funny as a kid, for the same reason as I do now. How is a bear masquerading as a homosexual any kind of lure or trap?
thenewacedblflt if they can't tell that that's a cop on the other end, then they're dumb. I've never seen the video, but my dad's a trucker so I kinda figured it was a cop.
Todd Glass played this song on his show a lot and he's gay! And no, he's not a flaming stereotype and he wasn't offended by it, he just tried to figure out the ending, which confuses lots of listeners who aren't truckers 😂
is why they're getting arrested is because when he says like the ending of the song he starts cruising like really fast that's why they both get arrested
Oh, and I'm 14(:
was your dad your dad ?
Heard this song for the first time with my dad on a road trip. Brings back good memories. Wish he was still alive so I could share this with him. I miss him so much. Still love the song and my dad for giving me something to cherish
A perfect pair is "CB Savage" and Cledus Maggard's "The White Knight."
EXACTLY 😂 😂 😂 😂
@seventh mist
It was Cledus Maggard's White Knight that brought me here. I realized it was similar to CB Savage so I tuned in.
Rolling 75 in Wyoming and that was my thought too lol
My late father was a trucker and he would do this voice on the CB sometimes for fun. I’ve never heard this song before but now I know where he got it from.
Man I ain't heard this song since i rode with my dad back in the early 80's. I love youtube !!!!
Love the background accompaniment......the off-key xylophone playing lullaby mood music
the first time i heard this song i laughed my butt of i couldnt breath lol
Good old classic! Listened to this years ago when I drove truck.
I laughed my ass off when first heard this on 45 rpm. I bought at a Flea market. GREAT SONG. Thanks. Chris
I remember this one from many years ago. Was funny then and still is now, today.
Every truckdriver loves this oldie! this is where we get the tip- goodbuddy- is a cop!
"goodbuddy" is not a cop. it was a term used betwen C.B.ers and truckers to refer each other as a communacations friend. later used to refer to "gay" truckers and C.B.ers. then dropped all together
Little tip; thats why we know its a cop! Good buddy.
sorry Google buddy I not a cop,it is friend. Another CB wannabe
Shows your own ignorance, a "good buddy" goes and gets a bj and brings you back two! Rofl
That's because it changed from "Good Buddy" to "Goooooood Buddyyyy"
I grew up on these songs, I love being able to listen to them now.
Just found this song after trying to remember what it's called. My dad had the Road trucking hits in his rig and my brother and I loved this song. Come on come on.

the todd glass show got this stuck in my head. lol. love it.
In my math class before spring break my teacher was playing this on the board. Kids were sticking earbuds in their ears to ignore the song, I almost died laughing XD
Yes, the pre-politically correct days when people didn't sit around just waiting to be offended all the time and could take a joke.
ROCK35377 did you just assume our race as human? For your infornation, I identify as a kangaroo. don't be so close minded next time, plz.
There was political correcness then too. It just didn't have much power.
Still doesn't offend me and I'm a democrat. Both sides seem to have thin skin.
We used to host radio shows on channel 19 up in Michigan. This was always a classic to play:)
LOL Definitely not PC god I miss the 70s when people had a since of humor. You used to only hear this late at night
nothing like the noise now a days. my grandfather was a truck driver. we all grew up with c.b.s.
I am 27 and love politically incorrect stuff
Gay trucker here and I think it's hilarious. You just gotta know what kinda company you're keeping lol
I use to hear this on a classic country radio show in the late '90s.
It's my dad's fault I know this song. Not that it's a problem. Although as my husband is a trucker, he's gotten tired of hearing this but it never gets old to me
Man my mom loved this song.
I love this song.
heard this call yesterday on the CB in Albuquerque lol
this was standard on the Larry Glick Show on WBZ radio back in the 70's.....the audience loved it and requested it nightly
I used to listen to this on 8-track, so funny
This song needs to be remixed, re-released and maybe throw on a dance track for the clubs. It'll either explode heads in a national triggered meltdown, or help some people actually get a sense of humor.
4 years late to reply to this but I can guarantee this would be a dancefloor smashed if that remix existed hahaha
ive been looking fo rthis song forever!
That it's so hilariously well done! This song is hilarious too!
In today's PC environment, this song would NEVER be recorded!

To many fruit cakes would be hurt!
My son makes pizzas. Black olives matter!
We're car guys so black lines matter.
Not everyone is PC...

I was little and I was a the truck stop and I had a little bit of money and I bought a CD and it had this song and I would not stop laughing
I remember this back in the 70's, hilarious.
A good oldie trucker song

Indrid Cold yes CB is still used. internet can't tell you which scales are closed or where cops are or traffic jams
Funny. We took a trip from Houston to NYC many moons ago. My friend spoke Arabic. Loads of fun. BTW, we made it 22 hours.
Can't be unheard.
@wendycan2 Road Music. You can find this album on iTunes. Otherwise, it's probably hard as heck to find.
Best song ever
Made me think of "Truck Clock" That I heard on Bob and Tom.
Remy The Red what a hack compared to this.
I'm in your chair and I love it there!
Theres a cd called On The Road Again with that song on it.
Don't hear this on the radio anymore. Like you also don't hear Ahab the Arab played anymore. World is way too PC.
ronaldt491 or "mr.custer" or "speedy gonzales" or "the lords prayer" all of which were huge hits.
I've posted mr custer and lords prayer
ronaldt491 soo true

This could be looked upon as entrapment! 😂
Reminds me of the good old days.
sorry to whoever said that this is by Cledus Maggard... THEY ARE WRONG. IT IS BY ROD HART. i know i grew up listening to C.B. and trucking songs with my dad. he had the original 45 rpm single that we just about wore out listening to and laughing our butts off

I always laugh when I hear voices like this on the CB. Sometimes the CB lights up with comments of all kinds .
LOL! He sounds like that guy on South Park!
THER WAS A WHOLE CD OF TRUCKERS SONGS INCL THIS -- DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THE ALBUM
When I was a kid, my oldest brother was a "truckie" (Australian trucker) and of course he liked truckin' songs like this and CW McCall and a less well-known guy called Larry Scott.
I always found this funny as a kid, for the same reason as I do now. How is a bear masquerading as a homosexual any kind of lure or trap?
i have the old vinyl lp of this
I cant breathe im laughing so hard
Speak to me peddle pumpers lol
This wouldn't be played on the radio in 2018.
Get rid of the cop pic. It ruins the surprise for anyone who hasn't heard the song.
so does your comment
Feel free to make your own video
tell em Danny.
thenewacedblflt if they can't tell that that's a cop on the other end, then they're dumb. I've never seen the video, but my dad's a trucker so I kinda figured it was a cop.
thenewacedblflt bah humbug
@neil Godfrey in some states having a convoy is illegal
This song would NEVER be recorded in today's hypersensitive, PC age. After 40+ years, "CB Savage" is STILL funny.
I wish someone would put up the song to hell with the cdl that was a good song
Todd Glass played this song on his show a lot and he's gay! And no, he's not a flaming stereotype and he wasn't offended by it, he just tried to figure out the ending, which confuses lots of listeners who aren't truckers 😂
is why they're getting arrested is because when he says like the ending of the song he starts cruising like really fast that's why they both get arrested
Does any one know the truckers song and the mouse and the drunk man
