Hey! I just thought I would write this comment on your most recent video. I went to see a circus performance when I was really little and I loved it so much that I went home and got my dad to get a long piece of material (not silks) and tie them to a bar on our ceiling. I learnt all of my first moves from your videos and it was all your tutorials that made me really love this circus discipline. I am now aiming to study for a level 3 circus Btec. Thank you so much xx
Can you do if you already have a cross behind your back? I was trying it today I was trying to make a nice transition from butterfly, come out of butterfly (and while the silks still crossed behind my back) un-lock one leg and continue as you did. But it just wasn't panning out with the diamond shape above
@Kate Mitchell I was able to get it ahah! I got it once I realized you literally turn your torso in between the silks after tossing the free silk over your chest
Pause and read 0:13 It would be better to have taken a class where the instructor can see you and correct your technique. It's hard to grasp every detail from a video. Important steps come from trying it and having someone there to pinpoint every detail you're doing to ensure correct execution and safety. Videos are supplemental to classes. Videos are good if you already can do prerequisites to the moves in the video and are looking for ideas on how to expand a bit upon what you can do or to review skills you learned in class. If you don't have access to classes, then you can try very low to the ground i.e. your wrapped foot would be still standing on the floor, or even your butt would still be on the floor. (This takes drops out of the question, so never attempt drops at home without proper guidance.) Just keep in mind that you might get tangled because you don't have the silks hanging under you to stay out of the way as you would if you did it in the air. Well, it's better than getting tangled or missing a detail in the air and risking injury. Even if you never try skills in the air or fall, you could turn the wrong way, placing the silks in the wrong position, etc., and end up hurting your joints.
Don’t ever train alone , even if you just have a family member around, cause you could get stuck, I got stuck home alone on my aerial hammock, it was the scariest thing in my life , I thought I might loose my legs. Alhamdullillah/Thank God I was able to throw a toy at a mason jar that was close . The glass shattered everywhere I grabbed a piece and literally cut my hammock with the piece of glass to get out.

your silks in this video remind me of candy
Omg this is super frustrating I’m advanced in silks literally every single one of my classmates could do this except me
Wish I could do this... I can’t even do the climb 😭😭😢🥺
We've all got to start somewhere. Keep at it and you will continue to improve. You've got this! 💪
