If you don't finish 88 the de Sousa way, you are ten steps behind the next level mind game of the darting legend we know as Jose. His nickname should be "Calculator".
I'm not sure if de Sousa is just trolling us with his wacky miscounts. Anyway, it's very entertaining to watch him play. A breath of fresh air in the PDC and just a very good player.
What looks like a miscount isn't really a one. He has 88 left. Tried to hit t16 for d20. Hit t8, has 64 left. S14 gets him the bullseye. D14 put him on d18, so that was actually on point throwing.
Kenny Beaudrie Bullshit point. MvG normally ALWAYS shakes his opponents hand. Win or lose. Unlike some players... I don't know if you noticed but there is a worldwide Covid-19 pandemic going on and during this tournament not one player shook hands. It is actually NOT allowed. Some players did a fistbumb (how stupid is that?) but most just gave a thumbs up or a distand wave. MvG did nothing wrong here and simply followed protocol.
@@hansolo2121 I understand that point you have made that better be safe but you do realise that that each and every one of the players this weekend have been tested and obviously tested negative or they wouldn't be playing so your point is a mute
@@craigmcghee4 Not shaking hands is not about players being unsportsmanlike or being affraid to get sick. It is about the rules of engagement as they have been defined by the PDC COVID-19 protcol. Players are simply not allowed to shake hands before or after any match. So to say that a player "should at the very least shake hands" after a match is a total bullshit comment. And also kind of ignorant...
@@hansolo2121 That's cherry picking. They do fist bumb at the start so why not at the end? At the end Covid all of a sudden is worse than before the match? Don't bullshit yourself mate...
@@jimmyjones6086 Again: it's not about players worrying about covid. It's about the rules as they are forced upon all players by the PDC. Handshakes are not allowed. Simple. Fistbumbs are allowed (for some reason). When and whether or not to do a fistbumb is up to each of them to deceide for themselves isn't it? It seems to me that you are the one that's cherry picking. De Sousa has been sensational on the floor and also in the non sky tv events. His rapid rise in form reminds me of Rob Cross and the way he was on the floor. I just hope De Sousa can take this form to the bigger stage.
That was some performance by De Sousa. But I wish he had done it against the best version of MVG. He certainly could have done it! I want the best MVG up against this new batch of players like De Sousa, Price, etc. Because that will validate their game and drag everyone's game up.
de Souza was great the entire tournament. Poor Ian White, he was a good sport about it for sure though. And Peterson has been soo good lately too but it wasnt there this time round
the other players just got better and are no longer afraid of him, that's why Michael van Gerwen doesn't win everything anymore, I think that will annoy him, and that's why he's a bit depressed
His throw has changed. The angle of the dart in his hand is no longer straight they point down a little. He is prob finding it impossible to get back to how it was. He can still play very well. But somthing is off mechanically.
He's losing because he's not playing good. He used to throw over 105 averages for fun and now he can't hit the broad side of a barn. Kinda seems like what's happening to him is what's happening to adrian lewis. Kinda sad honestly.
i honestly think him having a baby has seriously affected his darts game and noone really mentions it. low quality sleep over a long period of time, the little person getting ill and all the worries of having a baby etc. plus travelling tired and all the boring shit that goes with that. its an extremely stressful time in one's life. i don't know anything about his kid but if he/she starts sleeping through the night and gets a little bit older then the old MVG will return. It's quite harsh watching him play at the moment. He doesn't understand where his higher gears have gone and he doesn't quite have the mental energy to summon up the focus and timely accuracy needed to power through opponents. the field is definitely deep but none of them play anywhere near MVG's level even when theyr'e in full flow. when he loses its because he doesn't play well. he's still a top, top player
Nomatter how much errors Jose makes it's not right for MVG to talk smack about another player like that...Poor Sportsmanship from MVG never call any player a nobody
Michael van Gerwens throw has changed a bit I think.... At the backlift of his arm the dart points a bit downwards, afterwards he is doing a little wrist flick to point the dart towards the target... His throw doesn't seem as flawless as it used to be
MVG losing to people he should easily beat. He needs to sort himself out before the all important world championships or he will lose to another person who he should easily beat. SORT YOUR HEAD OUT MVG!

@Pete's Dutch TV. The funny part is except for accidentally hitting D14, S14 would've left him the bullseye. So his play here was actually fine
