Is your bagging a pre-manufactured plastic tubing or do you make your own out of sheet plastic? If sheet plastic, how do you close it around the boards to hold in the steam? Tape would release under the heat from the steam, I would think. Thanks for any reply.
Love how much you manage to communicate complex processes easily in such a short time. Just bought you're book to fix my folkboat 😏
Fabulous videos, Ian!
nice work that planking looks really nice and clean. I find steam bagging much easer and a lot less stressful when working short handed or alone.
Hi Ian, what is your opinion of a carvel planked hull that is glassed over from the waterline down? Yes or no?
Rosco
Suspicious. There have been a few successes but many failures.
Thanks for your reply Ian.
It's what I expected.

Hi Thomas, the plastic tube is a standard product, but I can’t remember where I got it. I found it on Google a few years back. Had to buy a roll.
@@SmithysBoatshed cool, thanks
Do you have to let the plank dry before priming?
Yes. Plenty of time for it to dry while final trimming and fitting is underway.
