Greetings from Indonesia I'm a beginner for this art, Thank you very much for this video, this is very useful for beginners, you give a grtis template and your video is very clear. I need all your videos to be like this. May God bless you friends
23:47 What is the name of this tool? I've never seen pliers like this. I've searched for "Stitching single hole hand plier" but had no results no matter which searching machine I've used.
I just downloaded both the long wallet and the med bag. You have my e-mail address now. I am just wondering what you get in $US for the long wallets. I see what you are getting for the med bag. I wont ask you to send that kind of info in general open mail. By converting to inches, I see your using roughly 5 - 6 oz. leather for exterior of either project. Is this a safe assumption? Your video on both is quite good, as are the patterns. I too, look to give the customer a quality piece. When I complete the first of either, I will send a pic. I am a beginner and appreciate the help you offer. Again thank you.
I don't have easy access to horse leather but I do have access to vegetable tanned cow leather. What ounce weight [1 Ounce weight = 1/64 inch thickness (.396875mm)] would you recommend for that type of leather? Also what type of glue do you use? I'm not familiar with the brand you use in your video.
I was wondering what thread and needle size you use on the long wallet and for the "Medicine Bag". I will be downloading both soon, and intend to make them. I love your work and THANK YOU for the tutorial.
Do you have a video or know of one that explains how you wrap the tassel onto the braid? I'm trying to copy what you're doing but its difficult to see!
I 1st learned how to do this type of wrap from making bow strings for archery. There might be videos of people doing this wrap with leather, but I'm not sure where they are? So here is a video of someone using the same wrap that I used on my tassels but to wrap a bow string. The same can be done with leather, but I suggest you practice with some string 1st until you get the gist of it and them try it on your leather rope with tassels. Thanks and here is the link to the video with the wrapping illustration below... ua-cam.com/video/XXdHkYb6r8g/v-deo.html
Hi Chris can you tell me what adhesive you use, it doesn't seem to be a neoprene stringy glue like evostick, which I have trouble with when burnishing edges as it can show through and spoil the boned edge, regards Graham
Hi, It's called UHU power cement. It's made in Germany, and cleans up really nicely, especially on for your edge burnishing. It's also easier to control how much you apply since it is in a stick for rather than stringy liquid.
Fischer Workshops Thanks Chris much appreciated, I realised after I messaged you to dig a bit deeper into your posts and found the answer and have ordered some. Brilliant work by the way and really like your designs and techniques, all the best regards Graham
Nice video. I learned a lot. Keep up the good work! Wondering what type of thread you are using and how thick? It looks nice. Not so thick like the tiger thread others are using.
Yeah, it's not tiger thread, but a professional saddle stitching polyester thread coated with beeswax. It comes in several thicknesses. I purchased this product from a leather goods supplier in Taiwan. I'm sure you might be able to find something similar in the US but might have to look around. Maybe Tandy Leather? Here is the web address of the company I buy from www.ivan.tw/
Hi, I'm just a beginner I did some things when I was young just very rough and I'll like to try it again and I'll like to know where to buy the conchos they're very nice and I'm very interested in buying some of your patterns so, I'll go to your web page to do that and I'm looking for places here in California to buy supplies and tools to star working in this hobby I hope you will be in touch and give me some advice thank you very much.
Thanks! I use UHU Contact Power Glue. It's made in Germany. I started using this product because it's easy to apply and you don't need to use to much. Although if you are unable to find this product any leather glue or cement will do the job.
2.5oz for exterior coat and interior pockets. Tooled leather is 5oz. I used horse leather for the 2.5oz and veg tanned cow side for the 5oz tooled areas. You can substitute the horse leather for any other type of similar 2.5oz leather.
Hi!! I'm from Costa Rica and I was wondering if you sell and send packages containing everything that is needed for a certain project and if I can buy it on Amazon.com or where? I was not able to find a single saddler that gives lessons because they say is a family tradition and even though I'm not into these business I just think is a beutiful think to learn and I like handcrafts 😊
I'm actually in the process of developing kits for some of my projects and more, but they won't be available online right away. I hope to make them available early next year. For now, I only have PDF pattern files with assembly instructions. The pattern pack also includes a list of required tools and product options. Here is the download link for the pattern pack for this project: www.fischerworkshops.com/#!/Long-Wallet-Printable-Pattern-w-Instructions-3-Designs-Included/p/72800552/category=0
Hi Susan, That's a great idea and something we have been considering for a while. I hope at some point that I can provide some kits as well for crafters. Thanks!
i have bought this pattern paid $18 once downloaded too but my computer crashed and everything wiped out from my computer including PDF of this wallet's pattern, i still have the order number in my email but there is a message it says (FW Long Wallet Designs 1~3.pdf (PDF, 3 MB)The download link has expired) should i have to pay again to get it again?
Hi, Sorry I can't read or write Spanish and sometimes Google translate can't clearly translate messages. Although if you are looking for accurate measurements for all the pieces you can download all the info from my website at, www.fischerworkshops.com. Thanks!
Hey, I really want to buy and download the PDF so that I can make it, but it's not showing up on your website. Is there a direct link that will bring me to it?

Hi greeting from Berlin.. i just wanna say ThanK YoU for sharing so many information and tips of your leather ArtWorK. is looking perfect as usual...every things is joint together with harmony flow and taste. I do notice that on 1 or 2 of your videos you used the UHU Power glue stick... what do you think about this contact glue stick? is it really almost so strong as a normal leather contact cement? i wanna to buy the UHU stick but here in Germany no one sell it anymore only on AmaZon is still available but must order at list 10 pieces ...... do you recommend this stick for leather work like wallet bags and so on. >T>han>K U Fisher and sorry for the long questions ( :
I don't use the UHU stick on all my projects, but I love using it for smaller projects like wallets... For bags and items that use heavier leather I use a more powerful adhesive. UHU dries a little faster, but is plenty strong and cleans us more nicely than most cements. Probably because it's easier to control the amount of glue you apply with a stick than with a liquid and it's transparent and doesn't make any messes on the edges of your leatherwork. For some reason its not very available on the market. I buy it from a university supply shop for engineers. I'm surprised you can't get it in Germany since it's made there? Try calling UHU and maybe they can tell you a local place to buy. Here's the tel# +49 72 23/28 40
You are very experience craftsman, but the quality of stitching is not look so good. May be trying to do faster to have smaller video. we learn something from everybody bit by bit.Thanks.
I will show this to my friend when she will be complaining why such stuff is so expensive. Amazing work... :) and such patience, just wow :)
sss s 😊 Yes, they are worth their weight in gold! Thanks!
Good news I received the UHU contact glue stick.
Took 10 days due to weather in the east. It is great stuff
Thank you for the TIP.
Ken Long That's great to hear, I'm glad you like it. I hope it comes in handy!
Greetings from Indonesia I'm a beginner for this art, Thank you very much for this video, this is very useful for beginners, you give a grtis template and your video is very clear. I need all your videos to be like this. May God bless you friends
a trick: you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching all kinds of movies these days.
@Kane Jad yup, I've been using flixzone} for years myself :)
@Kane Jad Definitely, have been using flixzone} for months myself =)

True craftsmanship, absolutely beautiful.
Simon O'Conor Thanks for watching! 😉
accurato ...e piacevolissimo. ..ottimo il tuo artigianato ...spero di venire al più presto al tuo laboratorio per farti i miei complimenti di persona
Thanks!
Question: what is the number and letters stamp you used around the basket stamp? I don’t like the look of the camouflage one that I use.
23:47 What is the name of this tool? I've never seen pliers like this. I've searched for "Stitching single hole hand plier" but had no results no matter which searching machine I've used.
A beautiful project and excellent interior design. Very well done.
Thanks!
At 0:45 you mentioned a link on learning how to cut patterns, but there's no link...
Soy principiante encue tro muy hermoso el trabajo gracias
Very nice fantastic workmen ship how do I go about getting one
I would like to make this. Ordering your patterns. Could you please post the exact materials list for this please. Thank you
I just downloaded both the long wallet and the med bag. You have my e-mail address now. I am just wondering what you get in $US for the long wallets. I see what you are getting for the med bag. I wont ask you to send that kind of info in general open mail.

Nicely done! may i know what you used to cut the round leather for the concho?
Sure, It's an Olfa circular cutter.
Fischer Workshops thank you!
what is meant by 9 mm leather? its not that thick so i'm assuming leather that's used to make gun pistol holsters?
Where in the video did you come across 9mm. That would be incorrect. This wallet uses 1mm - 2mm (2-5oz) thick leathers.
@@FischerWorkshopsTaiwan for external part 2 mm with tooling? Btw thanks a lot for sharing your experience
@@devamoria Yes, leather should be 2mm or 5oz, not too thick and not too thin.
Hi, Extra thin for the interior and exterior decor coat. Leather should be less than 1mm thick. I used .9mm thick leather.
Any leather glue should work, I just like that brand because it's easy to apply and finishes up neatly
Hola, es un bolso muy bonito.
Que tinte utilizas para darle ese color???
Thanks! I used Eco Flo professional water stain (Medium Brown) + I added a little black die to get the color I liked.
Digame...si vende esos botones artesanales con rosca...gracias
Roberto Sotomayor ese que uso es de rosca
This is very nice masterpiece pastor Chris..i like it
I was wondering what thread and needle size you use on the long wallet and for the "Medicine Bag". I will be downloading both soon, and intend to make them. I love your work and THANK YOU for the tutorial.
Hi Robert, A thick (about 1mm) waxed polyester thread should be sufficient with a size 4 harness needle. Enjoy!
Do you have a video on making the saddle stitching vice?
jay warrell No, I don't. But there are some good tutorials on UA-cam that teach how one is made. Just try a search for a stitching horse tutorial.
What type of glue are you using. Excellent work
It's a contact cement, just in a stick form. It's made by Uhu. I think it's called Uhu power cement.
Do you have a video or know of one that explains how you wrap the tassel onto the braid? I'm trying to copy what you're doing but its difficult to see!

Do you use the same thickness of leather for every part?
topster888 All the horse leather is about 0.9mm thick and the tooled leather is 2.2mm thick. That's all!
Fischer Workshops
Thanks!
Super professional work
Thank you for the tutorial
Very cool!! Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge!!

Yes, it is

What is horse oil?
Iron Bear Jewelry Hi, 🐴 oil is exactly what it sounds like. In leathercraft it is sometimes used to darken and treat the leather.
Здравствуйте очень красиво благодарю вы можете провести мастер класс очень прощу спасибо
I think you mean 9 ounce leather, not 9 millimeter....wow 9 mm would be a thick saddle leather
Thanks webslinger67 for the correction! It's 0.9mm, not 9mm.
roger that... lol.
Nice thx
