I’ve worn glasses since I was 3 and grew up on all this “take the hideous glasses off” makeover phase. As a little girl I literally used to take my glasses off to pretend I was pretty or a princess because I never saw anybody who looked like me on tv. Thank you for always being hilarious and pointing out how ridiculous that whole stereotype was. You’ve made the little insecure girl with glasses (who still makes an appearance from time to time) feel a bit better x

Kathy Lee Gifford fun fact: I worked for Kmart stocking at night during the holidays and Kathie had a line of clothing at Kmart at the time. She cut a Christmas CD which I have never been able to find since. Her horrible version of Jingle Bells sung in a very crazy quick broadway kinda way played all night long for two months , it replayed every 18 songs and it drove me crazy. The worst part is it didn’t matter where in the store you were ( stocking room , break room , floor , parking lot ) it’s played through speakers everywhere !!!! I literally think it may have been the reason I quit.

During that time, there was a statement made by activists that was “Cody needs a new pony!”. To this day, I cannot think of her and not ‘hear’ that in my head. It was also really weird and jarring how quickly Regis replaced Kathy and explained it....if I remember it was almost a non-explanation...like we didn't all know. Kathy Lee-Gifford: canceled before being canceled was a thing.

I used to love watching this movie and the 1998 "Parent Trap" back to back when I was eight, since I loved the "Identical girls switch places" plot. I can't believe that I forgot that Justin Timberlake was even in this movie, I must have mentally blocked it out! 🤣
As someone who threw a full tantrum because my younger brother needed glasses when I was eight and I didn't, I'll never understand why glasses are so "uncool." I spent an entire summer wearing glasses frames with no lenses that the optometrist took pity on me and let me have while my brother was attempting to legitimately adjust to his vision barriers. Yeah, I don't like child me either 🙃 😅
I used to put my mom's glasses on all the time and when she told me I'd mess up my vision if I kept doing it, I did it more because I wanted to wear glasses so badly. Now my husband might need glasses and while I'm concerned about his vision, I'm low-key excited for how hot I think he's gonna look in them 🤦🏽♀️

My brother in law is a collector/seller. They paid him to use his collection for the movie store in Stranger Things!! :) Crazy!! Obviously he did have to cataloge them and pack them into boxes, but they paid for shipping and stuff.
Nobody's Angel actually performed at my middle school for all of us sixth graders and it was magical.... The only good thing that ever happened at Parkman Middle school! So yes I not only remember them but they will always have a special place in my heart

I've been watching you for a few months on repeat and I truly love your content, but the BIGGEST thing you gave me with these reviews is acceptance. This may sound silly but I'm an Asian and majority of us young Asians would have plaits/pony tails and glasses and I lived my life as a "ugly loser". My mom never let me open my hair because 1) it was a bush and 2) it would get "ruined" if I kept it open all the time. I have so much trauma of being ugly but through your commentary and comedy I can finally feel accepted. It's okay to wear glasses and have a pony tail- to think stupid 90's movies perpetuated this stereotype has triggered a whole generation of people. Haven’t seen it mentioned here yet-the Wonderful World of Disney was a series of made-for-TV movies that would air on CBC in Canada on Sunday evenings. All sorts of awful good-bad movies. I remember lots of little pieces of Model Behavior, specifically the bit where Jeanine is rustling Alex’s bedsheets and going, “Static cling, this is heaven!” Like … ma’am, have you as a model never encountered static electricity before?

As whose eyesight got bad in her twenties, I only now realize in how many teen movies people just get rid of their glasses or put on someone else's glasses as if these were always just with window glass and the girlies were just wearing them for fashion purposes not because they actually need them to see. I cannot imagine someone taking my glasses away from me and sending me off to live their life - it wouldn't matter whose life it was. Could be my own and I wouldn't recognize it, with it being all blurry and stuff

So he's just with who he thinks is Jeanine and that's it. So it is exactly like if any girl on a date said I'm not who you think I am, then put her hair up and put on glasses, looked at him and said are you getting the picture?

As someone who threw a full tantrum because my younger brother needed glasses when I was eight and I didn't, I'll never understand why glasses are so "uncool."
I spent an entire summer wearing glasses frames with no lenses that the optometrist took pity on me and let me have while my brother was attempting to legitimately adjust to his vision barriers.

I used to put my mom's glasses on all the time and when she told me I'd mess up my vision if I kept doing it, I did it more because I wanted to wear glasses so badly. I've been watching you for a few months on repeat and I truly love your content, but the BIGGEST thing you gave me with these reviews is acceptance. This may sound silly but I'm an Asian and majority of us young Asians would have plaits/pony tails and glasses and I lived my life as a "ugly loser". My mom never let me open my hair because 1) it was a bush and 2) it would get "ruined" if I kept it open all the time. I have so much trauma of being ugly but through your commentary and comedy I can finally feel accepted. It's okay to wear glasses and have a pony tail- to think stupid 90's movies perpetuated this stereotype has triggered a whole generation of people. Haven’t seen it mentioned here yet-the Wonderful World of Disney was a series of made-for-TV movies that would air on CBC in Canada on Sunday evenings. All sorts of awful good-bad movies. I remember lots of little pieces of Model Behavior, specifically the bit where Jeanine is rustling Alex’s bedsheets and going, “Static cling, this is heaven!” Like … ma’am, have you as a model never encountered static electricity before?

As whose eyesight got bad in her twenties, I only now realize in how many teen movies people just get rid of their glasses or put on someone else's glasses as if these were always just with window glass and the girlies were just wearing them for fashion purposes not because they actually need them to see. I cannot imagine someone taking my glasses away from me and sending me off to live their life - it wouldn't matter whose life it was. Could be my own and I wouldn't recognize it, with it being all blurry and stuff
