Search on Google for Safe Travel Hawaii. You will create an account, and then there will be a tab (or a circle icons rather) that will say upload vaccine. Here you can add yours, then add another passenger. Once you upload the file, it will then actually verify the document (may take a few minutes to verify) but then it gets a green check mark next to it.
At the time this video that requirement was not in place yet. But we did notice a bunch of testing centers all over the place. Most of the time, your hotel offers testing.
I am confused about the 72 hour testing requirement. We are flying out of LAX to Honolulu with a layover in Maui. The Hawaii gov't website indicates that it is 72 hours before boarding the final leg. So our flight from LAX is at 8:00am but we have a layover at 1:00pm (HST). So do I have to get tested within 72 hours prior to the 8:00am out of LAX or 1:00pm out of Maui? Thank you so much!
Great question. I would do 72 hours from your layover IF possible. But I believe it’s from your LAX time. To be honest though, we have never had anyone check the exact time of the test just the day. If that makes sense. Also if you ever have any complications LAX has a super fast testing site at Tom Bradley Terminal 4 that we had the kids do and got the results back within 30 mins. Do encourage you book an appt tho.
I got fully vaccinated but wont meet the 15th day requirement so I have to get tested on Monday. I was a bit confused on the approved testing sites. Im traveling from san diego. I am getting tested by carbon but on the Hawaii website it mention about the sites with the " + " Not sure if you know anything thing about that? I feel like it is not very well explained ( carbon has the + ) thank you for the video btw! very informative and straight forward
The testing site you’re going to should be able to tell you if they are qualified for Hawaii testing requirements. It’s a fairly common question they get asked. Their website looks like it’s approved. support.carbonhealth.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057623973-COVID-19-Pre-Travel-Clearance-Testing-Information
Thanks for watching! No you do not, assuming you’re a US citizen. Since technically you’re still in the US. But as of Jan 26 2021, if you travel outside the US, you need a negative test to be back into the States. Hope this helps
No test required if you are vaccinated. You would just upload your vaccination card to the travel safe Hawaii website. And then within a minute, it verify it and you should get a green checkmark next to the uploaded file.
Thanks for the helpful info! Headed to Oahu for Xmas for my first-ever trip to Hawaii and grateful for this info ahead of time to make everything go smoothly!
Glad we could help! Be sure to double check to make sure nothing has changed prior to your trip. We are headed back for thanksgiving so we will do an update video after that as well! Happy traveling!
Can you upload your vaccine card and trip info weeks before the trip or does it need to be like 3 days before?
You can upload ahead of time. But 24 hours before you will need to go back in and fill out the questionnaire.
Hi! Great Vid! I saw you are showing an app in your phone. is there an app for this? i only see the website. Thank you
No app, we are showing a website here. App would be a bit more user friendly tho!
Really helpful. Mahalo
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching!
Great video!! I have a question, if you are traveling with kids(14 and 13 years) where I can upload the vaccine proof of them? Thanks for the info

While on the island did you happen to get tested somewhere so that you can fulfill the 48 hr requirement to be eligible for a sit down restaurant?
At the time this video that requirement was not in place yet.
But we did notice a bunch of testing centers all over the place. Most of the time, your hotel offers testing.
It’s a list of free locations on the island that you can get it done and from what I understand it only takes 10 hours to get your results back.

Quick question, do you need a negative COVID test to travel back home ?
Thanks for watching!

Fully vaccinated. Have CDC Card. Only question is do I need to do Covid test 72 hours before flight? I am from California.
No test required if you are vaccinated. You would just upload your vaccination card to the travel safe Hawaii website. And then within a minute, it verify it and you should get a green checkmark next to the uploaded file.
