Mr Markov should do a tour of the world and give talks see the reaction of people. We should allow and encourage Russian citizens to visit European countries and other countries in the world so that they can talk to the taxi driver, waitress and waiter, shop owner----everyday people. The Russians I meet are wonderful people and they should be welcomed around the world because when they meet people they will see what other people think of the Ukrainian war. This is Putin's war as Chancellor Sholz has said; we must keep trying to inform Russian people and everyone and Times Radio does an excellent job in presenting the facts. We have to prepare ourselves for the first nuclear exchange in a modern war since WW II.

The problem is that the russian people by and large are within a bubble of information supplied by the state. They don't have full access to the Internet and many are old f*rts like me but lack the education needed to find and use other information sources. A large part of "russia" lacks basic amenities, proper roads, sewage etc. Even China has upped the game and attempted to join the 21st Century. Meanwhile russia is North Korea on steroids with a lunatic in charge paranoid that the west is out to get him.

I've heard this chap before in interviews (BBC's Ukrainecast podcast). He's always the same: talking ten to the dozen, contradicting known facts, spouting unhinged Russian propaganda. Scary what a seemingly intelligent person can say and believe...... I don't think we'll ever be able to reason with this sort of person. We have to respect their right to an opinion, and of course the right to give it, which doesn't happen in Putin's Russia, and we must counter it logically. But, again, if there's no reasoning, then what? To me, this seems to be one of the most important questions: how can you reason with a person like that?
