Hearing the Trapper's theme's humming added to the medley with the Angler and Leshy's themes blew my face off. Easily my favorite part of the whole thing. I also love the howling in the intro; the flute always sounded like wolfsong to me and it works so well with actual animal sounds.
Thank you, thank you... though I sincerely apologize for what happened to your face. ... unless you LIKE having your face blown off, in which case, you're welcome!
It starts off pretty basic, just a standard Leshy theme remix, then you hear parts of the Prospecter variation of the theme that is often overlooked in remixes (the three notes along with the extra, high notes once it gets going) and it's sorta in an Act 2-ish style. Then, while the Angler variation plays, The Scrybe of Beasts also fades in, making it so that it's something other than just a siren/vacuum cleaner. And then we start hearing the Moon's theme alongside the Trader variation (which also has more than what we hear in the average remix), followed by the actual Trapper/Trader theme. Meanwhile, the Prospecter and Angler variations continue throughout the entire remix after their introductions. This all leads to a chaotic symphony of Leshy's theme (and its three overlays/variations), The Scrybe of Beasts, Trapper/Trader, and Moon all going on at once. And, honestly, it just fits Leshy SO WELL! Leshy does not care about balance like P03 does, so of course, whereas in P03's remix, it is all kept organized and clearly separated to the point where it sounds almost like it's all been aggressively closed off (which fits P03), this remix makes it sound like you're fighting nature itself and the chaotic-yet-beautiful power it has (which is accurate to Leshy's conceptual origins as a forest spirit).
Loved how you brought in the trapper hums and the Act 2 version of the song towards the middle, and also how you kept the boss theme layers throughout the song rather than each of them just having one part each Great work as always!
Interesting choice to just let Leshy's theme fall out of sync. With how chaotic this is trying to be, it certainly works, but it did just seem off at the beginning. Not in a good unsettling way like it does later, just weird. I still like it, and the remix as a whole is very good, its just something that stuck out to me
There's a more fundamental reason as to why I let the main melody fall out of line with the other melodies: it's not written in the same time signature as the rest of the song. Most of Leshy's Theme, including all the supporting layers, work with common meter (4/4 time signature). The main melody, however, works a bit weirdly. For three bars, it acts like 3/4, and then the fourth bar acts like 2/4 before repeating. This causes it to fundamentally 'fall out of sync' (though not out of beat) with the rest of the melodies. This is present in the original song too, but it's harder to hear in the OST version since you don't hear the other layers that much. I can understand why it sounds weird at places, it did to me too when I first realized how the melody worked. But I'm glad you still like the remix regardless! EDIT: I double-checked myself, turns out I'm slightly off. First three bars are still 3/4, but the fourth bar is weirder than I first thought. It's more like 5/8? I think? Whatever it is, it drifts by a couple quarter notes each pass-around, so that's why it sounds 'out-of-sync' with everything else.
That is why I phrased it as letting it fall out of sync. I knew the original had a very weird timing, and another remix i've heard padded out that last measure to try and stop it from falling out. It was a while ago, I dunno if I'd be able to find it again. Theres probably other ways of trying to keep everything together for a more cohesive feel too, which is why I think its a cool choice to just... let it be. Ignore cohesion altogether. It lets the other themes stand on their own rights, be more than just the background pieces they were in the OST. Its the layered effect, the themes clashing, sometimes fighting to take the spotlight, only to line up again at just the right moment as everyone's eyes turn towards you and you realize. Ah yes. I am the one they all want to kill. Uh oh! The original mixes of themes sounds like the gameplay - Leshy putting on a mask, borrowing from whoever he's wearing. Its the culmination of the slow build, finally being able to challenge Leshy at his full strength, pulling out every trick he's had before this, and some he hasn't, in one final battle. Its a theme _meant_ to be played after going through an entire run. This sounds like Leshy punched me in the jaw, stole my wallet, and heRE COMES THE ANGLER WITH THE STEEL CHAIR--! Its a more immediate collaboration, putting everything in all at once, hit after hit, measure after measure. Its a remix meant to pull in the entirety of Act 1 and leave you on the floor gobsmacked by it all. Its overwhelming, confusing, ambient yet loud, large yet claustrophobic, all things that can describe Act 1. i dunno exactly where I was going with this. I think my point is that even if it sounds weird as a song in points, its still a lovingly crafted piece and I have an immense respect for it

As someone who noticed your musical talent when you made your first one on P03, I’m happy to see leshy to come out! Good music and good day. Edit: side note I forgot to add is how underrated your. This was definitely worth the wait, phenomenal job on this it sounds very faithful to the original yet new at the same time, always a treat to hear your music man 😎
my only gripe with the original was that the trapper theme part just didn't go on long enough. I have no such complaints here, 11/10. Def going to my jogging playlist.

I would credit you of course, and if you do not wish to have me using your music that way that's also fine as well. :)
Possibly. If I do, it's likely gonna be Magnificus first (mainly because I technically did Grimora's theme in the past? But, I don't like how it turned out, so it's up for a redo), and it's gonna be made be some ways out in the future... admittedly, after I get a break from trade school and helping make a web game OST, I have a different game remix on the mind to make... ... the sort of remix that'd be fun to listen to while riding in a brand new Cungadero.

I just realized leshys theme is a repeating 6/4, 6/4, 6/4, 5/4 pattern and I am now in love with the theme
