As a 52 year old grandmother and mother of 4, I will share our experience and reason to hold off on vasectomy. We were 24 & 26, had 4 under 7 and chose vasectomy. We were told it could be reversed if we changed our minds, and we did 4 years later. Upon research we found that each year the that passes the reversal success lowers and ethnicity also hinders success. My husband is Hispanic and upon research we were finally told Hispanics and African American tend toward scar tissue thus diminishing reversal success even more. If we had waited a year and not been exhausted, and very pregnant, when the decision was made, we wouldn’t have done it. We definitely would have had a ‘second family’ in our early 30’s.
I love your heart and I understand what you're saying BUT hear me out please. I say this in such a kind and loving way, these comments can be taken so wrong. Me and my husband have 2 baby girls (almost 2 and almost 1 - Irish twins) and my husband's family constantly tells us we need to try for a boy to complete our family. To us it makes us feel as though our girls aren't good enough in their eyes. Because we could totally be happy and ve done having kids but these comments can come off rude and put these thoughts in parents minds. I never understood this until I became a mom but just please keep this in mind ❤
these podcasts always have a place in me they heal , ya'll getting me through worse stuff and everytime yall calm and confront my fears and stuff ...i love yall so much ❤❤
Not even done but this is my favorite episode so far! Love the family planning content as I’m newly married and this is the season of life my husband and I are now getting into! Side note, I wouldn’t really recommend the IUD Sav. It caused weight gain, acne, mood swings, and also embedded in one side of my uterus and made me feel pretty sick until I got it removed almost a year ago. Some ideas for the “favorites” - favorite vacation destinations, favorite home-cooked or restaurant meals, favorite proposal ideas. Love you guys 💗
i totally get the pressure sav feels about dance. i’ve been out of training for a while too and feel nervous about getting back to class, too. also, sav totally won the first date draft. loved it! also loveee the new favs idea!
Stretch marks just shows we been through a body battle and reminds us how far we have come and how strong we are. It all takes time to recover but girl your always beautiful! You still glow. But I think bc you have a Sweet caring fun soul that it shows and makes you glow. Magnetic is basically what I'm saying 💜
Natural Family Planning is the BEST! I would recommend reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility! I’ve been on NFP for over a year and have been loving it! I use the Daysy to monitor my temperature.
-----I didn’t have my tubes tied until my 4th child when I was 38 years old and I still regret doing it, it’s so permanent and I hate that the choice of having more children is taken from me now. So always keep in your mind with whatever you do that how you feel today might not be how you feel later on
Sav definitely won. I heard this on another channel I watch but I think if I had to go on a first date, I'd want it to be brief, like a meetup at a coffee shop. That way you can get to know each other a little, but it's not a long, drawn-out experience in case you can tell right away that you don't get along. That being said, I did take a 3-day trip to meet my now-husband for the first time! 😂
My son had a lip and tongue tie and his latch was super painful and he was slow to gain weight. We had them water lasered and it was a complete game changer! He just self-weaned at 3.5 years old and I would never have made it that long had we not addressed his ties. You got this! He was my third baby and I struggled with breastfeeding with all of them. They all had ties.
Okay thank you, I hate the bouncing back question too. I am 9 months post partum and have yet to "bounce back" so I often find myself comparing myself to others who have and get asked that question. I know its meant well but I really feel like any comments on a persons body shouldn't be made. love y'all and how real you are
Heyyy Sav, when it comes to sharing your Postpartum journey. Please continue, I'd love you to keep sharing. Personally I would rather know more and expect the worst and it be smoother as opposed to not knowing anything and going through the worst of it.
Beautiful family. You do what is best for you. How you feed the little one is less important than the time you spend bonding and forming that attachment. The connection is most important. Love your support of one another. Great team work ❤
Regarding preventing tearing: Don’t forget, you said you prayed!! To me that’s more than any position you ever in or anything the tea could or couldnt do❤
Lol I did NOT forget the pain. I’m surprised because so so many people say that once you give birth you forget the pain or once you’re out of the newborn stage you forget the sleepless nights. I don’t know what it is if it’s some form of ptsd or something but giving birth and having a newborn are so vivid and fresh in my mind 1.5 years later that it makes me nervous about ever having another. Or maybe I just had really bad experiences 😅
As a fellow believer I find it refreshing you two are both so willing to freely talk about birth control especially since it holds a stigma in some Christian circles. On the topic of vasectomies I totally get where you are coming from, but I’ve always struggled with what that decision means about me and my faith. Does getting a vasectomy show a lack of faith or non submission to God’s will? Am I taking the blessing of fertility for granted and taking life into my own hands too much? Is the size of the family God blessed me with truly my decision and do I not think he would provide for my family large or small? I don’t ask these questions to criticize just curious if they have crossed your mind and how you might answer them. As always I love the pods and hope to see more content like it from you guys! (Sorry in advance for the long comment)
Yes you can know. Discharge will tell you where you are in your cycle. Look it up. And if you want hormonal confirmation, you can take ovulation tests. I use the ClearBlue Fertility Monitor. Also recommend looking it up. It's so helpful.
Love that y'all kept it flowing when Ri woke up. Raw and real, parent life. I just had my second baby and completely agree with sav about people commenting on your body after birth. Everyone is always super sweet but it's not about that and you're going through your journey yourself. Sav said it perfectly🤍
It’s true with Savannah saying she might not want another baby right now. I had 3 kids and my last 2 kids are 11 months and 3 weeks apart from one another and I got my tubes tied after I had my daughter since she was my last one I had after my sons. I wished at times I didn’t tie my tubes but I don’t also regret it since I had 3 kids and ended up becoming a single mother so it was probably the best choice I made doing a tubal ligation.
My husband got a vasectomy after we had 3 kids. 6 year old girl, 4 year old boy, and 2 year old boy. We are complete. And hands full with the last one! But they are a blessing for sure. But the recovery of vasectomy was great for him he just had to rest for 3 days. Take it easy not lift anything heavy. But after 3 months have to test sperm to see if it’s gone.
The thing about birth is that everyone's experience is different because of different circumstances. Birth can be beautiful and not as painful. The rush of hormones after the baby is out, especially for me (I didn't have any pain meds) is crazy and feels so relieving. All 4 of mine were hospital births with midwives on call. However, we are not done having kids and I want the next one to be a home birth. So I know that experience is going to be very different as well.
Sav, I have an IUD (Mirena) and I wouldn’t recommend it 😅 it changes your body and hormones so much. I definitely want to try the natural temp thing too!
Mirena is hormone releasing. I have a non hormonal copper IUD for 9 years now (been through the progress of getting 2) and it was the best decision, especially coming off hormones. Highly recommend.
@@lezlea01 I’m definitely not going to be getting another one! Hormones or not I don’t think it is good for my body specifically but I appreciate the insight!
I agree with church. You can learn a lot about someone’s beliefs and wether or not they line up with yours which at some point will be the foundation of your relationship.
You guys are so fun. My boyfriend and I plan to get married and have kids, and when we talk about it, he wants to have more kids than I do, but with you is the other way around because Sav is the one who wants more kids and for my boyfriend too many kids will never be too many 😂 I think getting a vasectomy is advised for older people who have passed the younger age who have had kids before and are not very young. Before 30, I don't think you can get one, but it is worth checking out. I also think Josh should wait at least 1 or 2 years before making a final decision, because it is normal to feel like you are done with kids after just having the 2nd one and feeling like your family is complete but I think it is always good to give it more time cause the way the think and feel may always change, specially when it comes to how the family dinamic works. I love your channel so much and you guys are such good talkers.
I am with Sav. I also had 2 under 2 and felt like we were completely done. My husband ended up getting a vasectomy and ended up being a huge regret a few years later. I was only 24 when I had my second so made the decision too fast. But still so thankful for my 2😊
I loved this episode, especially the part that you talked about struggling for breastfeeding. The amount of pressure you feel you have to so it and it only come from you is strong. My first two kids I cried for weeksss about having a low supply. So with my third I had proper expectations, went in knowing I was going to give formula but doing so intentionally by pumping only and giving bottles at night of formula and two during day. I pumped 4 to 5 times a day not on schedule and made sure it was little pressure all this to say but not having the pressure I finally by 12 weeks was technically pumping enough to feed him it. I was afraid to not though just incase it stopped. Proud of you feeling vulnerable and I think it will help others for sure.
I think you all should just have the next baby right away… I was so thankful to be out of the newborn stage with my last. I’m loving having my kids a bit older… so much more freedom ❤❤❤ Mine are 5 and 9 💙💙💙
you will ovulate before you get your first period btw!! also 10000% recommend Natural Cycles, it is so easy and accurate when you take your temp at consistent times which is why I also recommend syncing an Oura ring with it because it automatically syncs your temp so you don’t have to manually take it because I know with kiddos temp taking isn’t always consistent
Hey Josh! Big thing i think you should know is that while vasectomy is reversible it is not 100% guaranteed and the chances of the reverse being "effective" or "successful" decline exponentially over the years. SO BE SURE IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET ONE!
Can you guys please do a video about all the equipment you guys are using?? I’m very inspired by you guys to start a podcast but need help with the equipment setup !!!
Sav ❤️ You and Josh should Definitely do Sip and Paint ! I’ve done it several times, some have date nights or girls night. You and Josh would Enjoy it ❤️
Don't do natural cycle bc that's how I got pregnant. It's not safe. I do the DEPO shot. Not all hormone stuff and I don't get my period anymore which is a massive bonus bc mine are bad. Also, my kids stopped napping around 2.
Surgery for guys snip is pretty easy, need about 48 hrs to recover. Sav don't cut your hair or color it any other color, it looks Amazing now!!! Can't wait to see more dance from ya girl!!!! (Hugs all) !!!!!!!!
Hey Sav, in relation to you wanting to know about Natural Cycles, I’ve been using it for a year and a half since being married and it’s been great. We also use condoms too on the Red days that I’m ovulating and we have to use protection. Only thing I would say is if you do get it, make sure to be consistent with taking your temperature so it can really get to know your personal cycle. And wait 2/3 months for the algorithm to get to know your cycle before having unprotected sex on Green days just to make sure it is synced up with your cycle x
I think your hair would be so cute in a chin length bob. Plus it will save time getting ready everyday. I did that with my second pregnancy and it was nice to not worry about styling it.
Hold off on getting a vasectomy. Seriously. You don't know what the future holds. 3 years from now God might give you both a feeling you should have another. Maybe 5 years from now. You both are so young, what you feel about kids now might change later. I'd hold off.
It’s great to say your done now, but in a few years you may change your mind. Me and my husband wanted 4 ,but we’re only able to have 3. I had 3 boys and my husband wanted a least one girl, and I wanted all boys. We had all kids all 2 years apart and we were done. And now all my kids are grown men. We need a mini Josh.
If you decided on the IUD I highly recommend it. I had it before getting pregnant with my son and I plan to go on it again after this baby because I definitely don’t wsnt another one for a couple years like y’all. It’s vary rare for bodies to reject it and the things y’all were telling about but it’s super easy to remove if it doesn’t work for y’all. And my thoughts are if God wants me to be pregnant I will get pregnant no matter what. If I was on BC or anything like that God can still make me get pregnant. I just went to take those extra measures to help not get pregnant if I can.
Actually not rare at all for your body to reject a foreign object in it. It happens all the time + can migrate to other parts of the body and get stuck.
❤😊what's up favorite family glad to see you guys are doing great 👍 my vote 🗳 is naw dude you guys are way to young to make such a permanent decision 😀 just give things time but Don't do it 😑 I'm a nurse and I've seen a many regrets from young men about such a final decision Please take Time 🙏 and think love yall stay awesome ❤😊
Trust, the recovery isnt bad. You'll be good in about 5 to 6 days but although before that its not terrible your just going to want to just sit or lay down.
I planned both of my babies but my second pregnancy was miserable and during the pandemic. I asked my husband to get a vasectomy while pregnant and he did it few months after the baby was born. I am content with my girl and boy. I had horrible postpartum depression and anxiety and still struggling with anxiety 3 years later. I cannot imagine myself having more.
It should be in Gods hands & you should be open to how many children he wants to bless you with. ❤ you’re young still and I think you’ll regret it down the road. The more kids the better! When they’re older they are who’s gunna take care of you!
since it’s a lil competition between y’all, i could see the segment of the episode called S.V.J, or something like that! short for Sav vs Josh😊🤞 love y’all & what you do🧡
I don't think he should take a vasectomy...if u guys thinking about having another baby why not having one now over and done with...just saying...love u guys..
I am sure all will work out baby-wise..more or not. I will say, this is the first time Josh seemed uncomfortable while you two were talking...moods were very different this round. Well...your hands are very full now as you know. Keep the faith no matter what❤️
I think they mean bounce back as in how do you manage having baby and 2 under two how to keep your mind positive cause kids a really too much but your strong
It makes me feel better that Ri goes to bed between 8-9 pm because my daughter is the same and will be 1 next month but everyone thinks that's so late! but she also does sleep through the night but it always made me feel guilty because she just likes to bed later in the day haha
Hey Josh and savannah love you guys, Josh we had Two girls and guess what they gave us four grandsons so I feel we have the best of both worlds an honest this world we are living in now is scary keep the faith in our King Jesus Christ 🙏 hallelujah always keep God first and raise your girls in church with family and friends!!❤stay strong 💪⚓
I loved the date reconditions and Josh being a girl from Michigan I feel like cedar point is a great date idea maybe because that was my first love took me on our first date lol ❤ Sav with the pull and pray 🙏 😂
Tubes ?? Depends I had the cut pieces out and burn the ends to make sure they don’t grow back because within years that pass they can grow back. I had 4 kids so I didn’t want the chance at all!!
I have been on a non hormonal copper IUD for 9 years, I'm on my second one now so I've been through the process twice. I couldn't recommend highly enough with my experience at least. Great to be off hormones and the pill. Sure its not fun getting it in but they last 5-7 years each time so it's a blip in that time frame.
As a 52 year old grandmother and mother of 4, I will share our experience and reason to hold off on vasectomy. We were 24 & 26, had 4 under 7 and chose vasectomy. We were told it could be reversed if we changed our minds, and we did 4 years later. I think your hair would be so cute in a chin length bob. Plus it will save time getting ready everyday. I did that with my second pregnancy and it was nice to not worry about styling it.
Josh and Savannah you are doing good. Savannah take your time. Do what's best for you. God bless your family 🙏 Love you guys,💓💓
It’s my first real video after an hundred shorts. I love their love here.
Glad you’re here :)
I really like the idea driving to Ohio and going to Cedar point. That’s pretty cool.
You all are amazing to listen to
Hold off on getting a vasectomy. Seriously. You don't know what the future holds. 3 years from now God might give you both a feeling you should have another. Maybe 5 years from now. You both are so young, what you feel about kids now might change later. I'd hold off.
I had an IUD, and it went into the wall of my uterus. But I also had an ectopic on the pill. I've been very unlucky with birthcontrol
Just wait don’t decide right now it’s too soon!!! Once the girls become like 5 and 6 you’re going to want another one!!
Sav won! Road trip is kinda ery with a stranger.
Love yall❤❤🙏🏽
“ I want the wine part 😁 “ 🤣
Iive this family..Dad..Josh is the best patient father.
Sav won the date draft by a lot ❤❤
First date: group date, escape room or some collective activity that helps you see how they work together
It should be in Gods hands & you should be open to how many children he wants to bless you with. ❤ you’re young still and I think you’ll regret it down the road. The more kids the better! When they’re older they are who’s gunna take care of you!
since it’s a lil competition between y’all, i could see the segment of the episode called S.V.J, or something like that! short for Sav vs Josh😊🤞
love y’all & what you do🧡
I have a friend who been natural cycles for 2 years till now, it had been working for her so far.
I don't think he should take a vasectomy...if u guys thinking about having another baby why not having one now over and done with...just saying...love u guys..
Sav: “Fumble fumble fumble”
Josh: “you don’t even know what fumble is” 🤣 classic
Love the church & zoo ideas!
Josh fumbled this one w the road trip 💀 Sav got the W! But im defo stealing the zoo idea on my first date, it’s so wholesome 🥺🥰
It makes me feel better that Ri goes to bed between 8-9 pm because my daughter is the same and will be 1 next month but everyone thinks that's so late! but she also does sleep through the night but it always made me feel guilty because she just likes to bed later in the day haha
Haha my first date with my husband was the picnic and he cooked my favorite food!
We have two kids and my husband had a vasectomy a few years ago. The recovery wasn’t bad at all!
Pull and pray 😂😭 me and my husband right now!!!!
Both of you all had great first dates! Love them!
Did u get any other side effects from the birth control ? Besides it improving your acne?
My bf and I first date was going to church lol, it was so fun !! I recommend ❤
Sure its not fun getting it in but they last 5-7 years each time so it's a blip in that time frame.
okayyy but y’all should do a meet up at cedar point 👀
“Gods plan…Gods plan”
As soon as you said that… I went immediately to Drake. 😂lol
They don’t tie tubes anymore. They actually take the entire fallopian tube out so it’s not reversible. My sister just got hers
What's the side effect? Early menopose?
GOING TO THE ZOO IS THE DREAM FIRST DATE!!
Josh wins!!!! 😂
