    Thank you so much for your time on these videos. I've watched most of your videos now! All are extremly helpful and I plan to watch all of them in time. One video I cannot find anywhere however, is how to model beams with common configurations other than a circle or a retangle (e.g. Angle Iron, I-Beam or H-Beam). Please consider making a simple video on this tyoe of beams or can you please direct me to one that already exists? Thank you in advance.

    Hello Cyprien how are you?
    Do you know what happen in my Salome when I click RUN, show me the message " cannot run output file or empty file, I use Salome 2019.0.3...
    Maybe I do need to create a output file in this version...

    thank you so much for this tutorial. the code aster and salome meca website is so poor and so badly written I could find anything to understand a bit of how this software works. And now I understodd everything (almost! ;) ) in half an hour with your video.

    Hi Cyprien, Thanks a lot for the videos!! The videos are very good for understanding salome-meca. In the future could you make a video on how to do XFEM analysis or how to use the fracture and fatigue option in salome meca . Thanks in advance!!

    Thank you for videos. Not sure about how Code Aster handles unit system but I think you created geometry in mm so you have to input Young Modulus in MPa that is N over mm2. 2e11 is in Pascal.

      You are totally right, Romain, I think I did a small mistake here, I'll add a not in the video to mention it. Thanks!

    Hello Cyprien, thank you for this tutorial. I have noticed you use salome_meca in ubuntu on virtual machine. I would like to ask you do you enable 3D Acceleration in the Virtualbox settings or not? Thanks for the reply.

    • @Feaforall
      @Feaforall  4 роки тому

      Hey Luka, I just checked and I didn't activate the 3D acceleration. When I do, I get an error in Salome-Meca. Probably some kind of library not supported yet for this option.

    Cyprien you are a FEM GOD. I follow all your Code:Aster tutorials but i cant run. This is the error that appear when I run a simulation "Cannot read output file or empty file." Could you help me please to solve it? Best regards

    Hello Cyprien, thank you very much for the videos! I would like to know how can I apply a distributed load along the object I intend to analyse and how can I apply intermediate roller support and/or pinned supports (e.g in the middle of a beam or a plate)
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Cyprien, this is great! Thanks for these tutorials they will help me in the future. I have a question, my Salome menu doesn't include AsterStudy, would you have a link on how to install AsterStudy? Thank you!

    • @RobouVideos
      @RobouVideos 6 років тому

      It looks like you use an old version of Salome_Meca, or you just installed Salome platform.
      Salome platform = a set of modules and softwares, a modular GUI containing Mesh, ParaVis tools etc.
      Code_Aster = the algorithms that compute mechanical studies.
      AsterStudy = a GUI module to set up a Code_Aster study.
      Salome_Meca = the software package containing Salome platform with AsterStudy and Code_Aster already integrated together.

    It is possible visualize che cross section of the beam element? and the internal forces diagram (bending and shear forces?)

    Thank you for the video! I need to create a hinge between two adjacent beams, and I cannot understand how to do it in AsterStudy: is there and "end release" option somewhere?

    • @Feaforall
      @Feaforall  5 років тому

      There surely is such option... probably in the boundary conditions. Never used it though, so I don’t know either...

    Hi, How to get a stress linearization plot in salome meca. I need to plot membrane stress + bending stress across the thickness.

    • @Feaforall
      @Feaforall  6 років тому

      I think you have to use a function called MACRO_LIGN_COUP to do that. Here's the doc: www.code-aster.org/V2/doc/v12/en/man_u/u4/u4.81.13.pdf

    Thanks for the video. I am new in code_aster, I follow all the steps, however, at the end when I am doing output, I recieved this message (file path contains unsupported symbol. you will not be able to run code aster). How to solve this problem? For your information, I am using (Beam.Result.med).

    • @Feaforall
      @Feaforall  Рік тому

      Save your file at the root of your system (same for the folders of Salome Meca). You have some characters in a foreign language or spaces in the path of your file and this is not supported

      Thanks for your reply. The problem has been solved. I am using Code_Aster in windows 10. I followed all the steps without any problem. At the end, when I run the case, it is running…. without ending. When I click at the screen, it ends with red colour results.
      I don’t know, what is the problem?
      Is it because of windows instead of Linux?
