    I suggest using the bandaid mod on the PCB. That should significantly reduce the 'clacky' sound of the stabs. 🙂

      I've been meaning to try that, thanks for the tip!

    Hi do you have list of items that you purchased before modding this keyboard?

    Did that much of trouble for such a little gain

      Yeah, it was my first time modding. Could've been better. No need to rub it in

      @@patlalu09 i dont mean that.. i mean, you did way too much of hassle for such little gain. I advise going for SA or XDA profile keycaps to make your keys sound different. :) nice day

      @@itsyoboigucci7578 oh yeah, I get what you mean. It was pretty time consuming, but there were some slight improvements to the sound and feel. But yeah, could've been better. Have a good one!

    Where did you get your key caps? im trying to find decent PBT black keycaps with shine through for my K4 V2 but having the hardest time finding something.

      Hi! If you're from the ph, I recommend searching on shopee. There are plenty of options there. Here are two links to stores (cuxiu and yongqui) that have a few options, hopefully you can find some that you like. :)

    Hi
    1st question what is the size of the hex screw driver you are using specificically?
    2nd. If i have the plastic version of this k4v2 am I still able to use aluminium frame to put on it? Im planning to use the aluminium frame from my old non swap k4 keyboard . Thanks in advance! great vids!

    • @patlalu09
      @patlalu09  3 роки тому +2

      Hello!
      - For the size of the Hex screw driver - I have a set of hex screw drivers, I used the size 2 (im not sure what the measurement is but that was the size the fit best)
      - For the second question, I don't really know for sure because I only own the aluminum version. If you can remove the alum frame using the hex screw driver from your old non swap alum K4, then you could probably try to fit it into your plastic version. I have a feeling it'll fit. :)

    Bro, is it hard to unplug the battery?

    • @patlalu09
      @patlalu09  3 роки тому +2

      Yes, it was. I got too worried that I might damage it, so I ended up just installing the foam without unplugging the pcb from the battery.

    I have the K4V2 with only white backlight and although it is advertised as hot swappable, I cannot get my switches out at all. I have a puller and I am doing correctly (have another KB as a reference and those switches come out super easy) but these won't budge. Any suggestions?

    • @patlalu09
      @patlalu09  3 роки тому +1

      That sounds pretty weird because hotswappable switches usually come off with little effort. The switches have little clips that you squeeze with the puller to release it from the socket.
      Could be that the model you got was misbranded as hotswappable? Sorry I can't really suggest anything other than trying to get in touch with keychrons customer service team.

      @@patlalu09 yeah I press on the clips but its like trying to pull of a ring from a finger when the ring is clearly to small in the first place. Just annoying cause I got the linear reds for noise levels, but came to realize my fingers prefer a more tactile response. Wanted to get some brown switches and just swop them out.
