So the 10-2 is actually a competition movement. A judge will count the total number of reps completed in a 10 minute interval, the criteria for a rep to count is the hands must be completely behind the head, and the other part is the forearms touch the body at the bottom position.
Digging the movement variety, and the complexity of it. The ballistic nature of kettlebells and maces is a great way to get the heart rate up. Also for me they implement strength in a more practical real world value. I appreciate a heavy back squat no doubt, but the reality is the ability to do 20 kettle bell swings in a minute will have you moving better longer.
