- Whether you haven’t taken a DNA test or you did but got discouraged and abandoned the effort, it’s time to take another look. This is your guide to get started with DNA!
In 2024, DNA can answer family history questions so much more powerfully than it could even five years ago. More people have tested, and more tools and strategies have been developed to help you find answers. More accurate and precise ethnicity results point more meaningfully to ancestral places and populations.
Come learn what’s possible and how to set a good DNA goal (like identifying an unknown ancestor, finding or verifying birth roots, connecting with distant relatives or figuring out where an ancestor was from). Learn about picking the right test(s) for your goal and how to turn test results into meaningful family history answers. The best news is that you don’t have to be a scientist to make DNA discoveries.

Great information. When doing the Y-DNA pay the money and do the Big-Y 700 through Family Tree DNA. It is expensive but if you share some funds and then the information it's a win/win.
It is, if you have enough matches. If you descend from a "thin" line with few or no "real" matches then jumping in at 700 for the first test is a waste of money. You can always increase on an as-needed basis. I'm in the minority but I'm glad I started at 39(?) and have stayed at 67 for 5+ years waiting for a match or three that check out.

Has Theory of Family Relativity sounds fantastic, however, it displays NO RESULTS FOUND. I clicked CLEAR FILTERS, taken to the main DNA Matches page, I click on TREE DETAILS > HAS THEORY OF FAMILY RELATIVITY and the same NO RESULTS FOUND. Help is doesn't appear to have any useful information. How do I get results to display?
