The California Peony is in season from December to May. In classic California fashion, this beautiful spring bloom Peony is one of a kind which we love , of course!.
Peonies have been used at gracing wedding aisles or bouquet.
The Peony as we know it forms part of far more complicated of petals. So, it is very good object to be used as practicing floral painting.

Thanks for sharing. I worked through the tutorial. It broke down a complicated subject into a simple method. Tomorrow, I will go to the gardens and paint peonies en plein air. they started blooming a week ago.

@@Paintinghyun I painted for a few hours today, and I have some technical questions. I was wonddering if you could give me any advice.
First is a very basic beginner question--muddying the paint with pencil lines. I need to sketch them first because they're too complicated. I used a 4B pencil and that muddied the paint when I painted over it. What kind of pencil should I use to avoid this?
Second, another beginner questio. I was having trouble getting all of the petals to connect. It happened for only one flower. I was using three colors: pink, red, and outremarine bleu. Also, this was on 200g/m2 multi-purpose paper. The paint didn't flow well. The reason I used it was because it was a warm-up painting, and I didn't want to waste thicker cold pressed paper.
For the other flowers, this didn't happen. I only used 2 colors and kept it simple. I used better paper--300g/m2 cold pressed. The paint had better flow and was easier to control. Maybe it's because I used too many colors?

I loved your video and the footage...but I don't think this is a tutorial. Please don't take this the wrong way but when I think of a tutorial, I think of a step by step video guiding us through, start to finish. You are not teaching us in this video. This is just time lapsed footage of your beautiful work, which I love to see and would love to learn from. So please don't put those words in your title... I was searching for a Peony tutorial and this is not it. I do thank you for your time and hope you can share more!
