I LOVED this movie. Thank you for showing the filming sites.
Your research and work is just sublime!
I just watched this movie on TUBI. It was really sweet and nostalgic. NYC was really something to behold back then.
Excellent before and after! I recently rewatched this classic and grew up in Bronx (70’s - 80’s) Thank you for your efforts!
Thanks, John. Even though I only lived in the Bronx for 4.5 years, it quickly became my favorite borough in NYC.
Everything looks more elegant in black and white anyway. ;)
What a subtly thrilling film. Thanks so much for your content and this post. Even your choice of music! Very good.
Very interesting the way you laid out the sequences. Thanks.
So sad to see a beautiful place in NYC eventually turn into a dump. Excellent video production, though. Thanks for posting.
The RKO Chester Movie Theater and Howard Johnson's family restaurant(which was across the street from the entrance to The Bronx Zoo and are mentioned in this film)are long gone.
If you made this, thank you! While the actual places are now rather mundane, it's still of some value to see these places. that said, it's like a place of magic had died.
Yes. I found most of these sites when I lived in the Bronx in the 2010s. Sad that most of the places are bland, but nice to see some of the places are still around. Thanks for commenting!
Thank you so much for this video. I loved Marty and just saw it again on TCM last night. I was curious about the locations.
I am surprised they used a church in Quebec. I'm sure there are plenty of Catholic churches in the Bronx.
Thanks for your comment. The church was actually an outtake from Hitchcock's movie, "I Confess." I assume the MARTY folks needed a quick establishing shot and just borrowed the outtake.
A Great Film Borgnine won the best actor that Year. Thanks for this very well done
The RKO Fordham Movie Theater is also gone.
So awesome to came across this vlog. Thank you for showing us the recently before and after. I always wonder how those places looks like now. 😀😀😀
I miss the bronx
Great job.
The Bronx is that one borough that really lost its charm.
More so than the others, that is.
👍👍👍
