@J0yb3ells Thank you, Joy. I love those first day covers, I have quite a few and wish I could find anther use for them, some are very pretty. TFW and have a blessed weekend. 🌼💛🌼
@celiawofford3357 Thank you very much. These are so much fun and a little FYI ....... I have a playlist of years past if you want to see more. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you, again. ✨️🌼✨️
There's just something fun about these crossword collages. I like how the b/w image on the envelope ties back to the b/w on the opposite page in the same way you sued the flowers to move the color around. xoxo
Lisa, TFW and yes, for some reason I'm really leaning towards the black and white theme this year. hmmmmm ....... I wonder why! Have a great Saturday and I'll see you soon. xo
@lesliec9890 Thanks, Leslie. My brain is so stretched it looks like an old worn out sweater that has been worn to the beach filled with sand, suntan lotion and seaweed 🤣🤣🤣 I say that b/c I do have a sweater like that and can't give it up ....... I'm so happy you enjoyed this piece I struggled with. Have a great weekend, my friend. xo
Hi, Barbie! Nice work with this collage - even if you struggled with it! Love the girl's dress. It would be difficult for me to work on a large substrate. 4 x 6 is probably the largest I am comfortable doing. ❤
Joy, I'm really enjoying the little collaging and may stick with that, other than this book. It's funny how the brain works and doesn't work at times. It's also hard to switch over after creating in a certain way. TFW and I'm happy you enjoyed this one. Hugs and blessings. xo 🩷🌼🩷
I’m so happy you started the crossword collage again. One of my favorites! This is fabulous, love that ruffle skirt girl ❤ Maybe I’ll start a new crossword book using the land of nod stickers I just got…hmmm….it would be a good way to use them up. ❤
Thanks, Christina. I love that ruffled skirt, what fun! I'm happy you enjoy these collages and I think this year, making it into a scrapbook, photo book style will be fun as well. Check your DM on Instagram please! xo 🥰
Love this! The flowers you used are so pretty! Love the blue & white! My Mom gave me a little casserole dish for Christmas. It is beautiful & my very first ever real Polish Pottery! I will have to show it in one of my videos so you can see it. I have admired Polish pottery for years, but I've only had look alikes.
That is so sweet of your Mom! I love Polish Pottery. I hope you get many years of enjoyment from it Jeana. I love all of mine and use them all the time. I'm glad you enjoyed this video and yes, please show me your Polish pottery piece. Hugs 🧡💛🧡
Barbie the first crossword collage journal spread of 2025 turned out so well,it definitely invokes a retro night out.I love that you found a pattern to remind you of your Mum,so her memory is part of this spread. The bands f colour looks great and the flower scraps were a a great finishing touch. The gal looked Ike a fashion illustration(Matt) P.s am sure you will get your collage mojo back soon, you'll create a piece and it will 'click' and you'll be away!
@TrishisCraftingWhimsy thanks so much for stopping by. These are so much fun, and i invite you to give it a try. Have a great weekend 🌷.... hopefully, you aren't getting snow
This is beautiful, Barbie. I’m glad you are continuing this. Have you ever read the “Outlander” series? I’m not sure if it is your kind of book but they are really good. ( At least in my opinion.) The Jana DeLeon “Miss Fortune” series is hilarious. Also Jana DeLeon “Shaye Archer” series is good. They are more gritty and serious. 😊❤
TFW, Susan and I appreciate the book recommendations .......... I'll be checking them out. I'm glad to be back creating in this style too, although it'll take a bit to get my mojo back. Watch your mailbox .......... have a great week, gf. xo 🌸🥳
Hi Barbie, I feel your pain trying to figure this out. I got as far as making my journal which is just ok. No idea for pages. I have no doubt this will turn out wonderful. Hugs and warm hugs my friend. I just finished Five wishes for Murry McBride. A nice touching story.
Thanks for the book name, I'll check it out. I'm pleased with how this turned out but it was a struggle, Shay. Hugs and love on this very cold Saturday afternoon! xoxo
@NellieandRuthDesigns another good one is Billie Summers by Steven King. Not scary or gore. One of my favorite is Defending Jacob. This is an older one.
I could feel your struggle, but it turned out gorgeous, that red flower with the 'Daphne's Diary' lady is spot on and brings the whole thing together. But I understand what you mean about using a larger page dynamic. My visual journals are really big and it can be a nightmare. I am very intrigued by the pattern girls' books you showed us, is it possible to let us know where you got those from. It was fascinating to hear that you have Polish ancestry, hubby is always saying to me about living there as their government have better policies and values. I've been wracking my brain about what to suggest for reading material, everyone is so different. I enjoy Fantasy novels (as you know my love of dragons) R. S. Salvatore is one of the best authors, he writes about a certain Dark Elf called Drizzt. We have all his books. We also like Lee Child who writes about Jack Reacher, they are very well-written and the stories hold your attention. I've also read Jackie Collins books Riders, they are a bit raunchy, but a really interesting story over several books. Another book series by Jackie is about Lucky Santiago and again it's a fascinating read. I hope you manage to find something suitable. Tfs xo
Thank you, Elizabeth. I believe I purchased those books from Ali Express, but I'll double check. Mom was 100 % Polish and my dad 50/50 French and Dutch. Thank you for the books ........ my DIL LOVES fantasy adventure and I purchased a series for her she's been wanting at Christmas. I've read most of Lee Child's books, he's one of my favorites. Jackie Collins was a favorite of mine back in 1987 and 1988 ..... oh yes, Lucky Santiago.........I loved all of her books. I will have to check out Rider ....... that one I have not heard of and raunchy does not bother me at ALL 🤣 I'm a big reader, especially in the summer when I can sit on my screened in porch, swinging on my parents old 1940's porch swing. TFW and sharing ..... hugs and blessings. xo 🧡💛🧡
@@NellieandRuthDesigns Your swing sounds amazing. Hubby has come up with another writer Patricia Cornwall/Cornwell. I'll check out the Ali Express, thnx xo
This looks like fun to me, and I love your pages! I might like to join in, if I could! Are there prompts, rules, guidelines, or any specifics I should go by? Is there a hashtag? Is "A Fun Night Out" the prompt?... Or do we have free rein on themes throughout our own crossword journals? I'd like to explore collaging a little more, and my father used to like crosswords!.... Just followed you on IG! TFS! ~tina
@bleigh8793 Tina, thank you so much, and I'd love for you to join in on the fun. There are NO rules. I have a playlist of my 2024 Crossword Puzzle Collages so you can take a look at others as well. This is not a challenge, so there is no hashtag. You can create any themes you like on each page. Last year, I used sewing pattern women, taken from old sewing pattern jackets and a few from a counter catalog from the 70's. My mother loved her crossword puzzles (where I acquired this book after her passing) and I wanted to create a paper craft where I could have wonderful memories of her and create something new each week. Let me know if you have any questions. I try to create these collages on a weekly basis so stay tuned. TFW and I'm so happy you enjoyed this video. 🌟🩷🌟
Hi Barbie.......glad you started the Crossword Puzzle Collage.......I will also start one for 2025.......love that DD dress.....but I already used it in my 2024 DD Collage Journal😊.......lovely collage 😍
