great video, here in philadelphia pa USA and the wires on my 76 xjs trigger board dried up from heat and yellow wire broke off so going to upgrade to the newer board, thanks again, needed this video !!

Wish there was a way to get rid of trigger points from my 74 benz , but there is no way to do it and keep d jet intact .

Everything was going great until I heard, "cut the wire and solder it" 🤣. I have to admit the opening musical tune is very catchy. I seem to start humming it throughout my day. 😁

It can be crimped too but solder makes for a better connection. It's not really plug and play but almost. I'm glad you like it!

The two boards use rotors with different magnets on them, a trap if you are just looking for a new rotor as I found out as they are not interchangeable. I still have the reed switch board and the rotors for them are now hard to come by. Maybe I will also have to upgrade to the hall effect board. My screws also broke and I manufactured some new ones, I found that the threads were a number 4 BA thread. That was the closest anyway.

Can you do a tutorial on the XJ-S valve cover gasket and half moon seal replacement?

That's a great video tip! Neither one of my V12's need the valve covers done but I can see if I can find a car to do it on. I have a friends XJ6 who needs the covers done. The half moons and the gaskets are basically the same, its just on the V12 you need to remove a lot before.

Hi, really enjoying ur stuff. Bought an '80 XJS V12 recently, haven't driven it yet but PO complained that it would backfire and die after about 20 min when it had got warm? Any thoughts? TIA

I had one that would warm up just fine, then started farting about and running bad and would within a minute shut down. The car would not start till the next day which it would repeat the whole thing again.. it was the trigger board, replaced that an everything was good in the world again

Yes, due to your videos getting monetized at 1000 subs. lf you are going to tell a story, tell it all ;)

    • @LivingWithAClassic

Well that is not completely true. You need over 1000 subs and over 4000 watch hours in the last 12 months to be tested for any monetisation. I just like to celebrate the big number 😀
