Thanks so much! Very helpful. I get all confused with my math. 🤦♀️ Keeping these formulas in my tool box. Thank you!!! Would love to see your pieced quilt back finished.
Great information. I am finishing up a quilt this weekend and was wondering what to do for the backing. Now I have a great idea! Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have recently “found you” and have already learned so much. I ordered your Stripology ruler and can hardly wait for it to arrive.
Totally enjoyed your ideas. I have had to improvise on my first bigger quilt. I had extra squares and made the quilt bigger. My granddaughter loved the matching color on the back since I didn't have enough matching backing.
Thanks for making this great video. Your tips and techniques are extremely clever, very helpful. (And I Googled GE Designs-- you have some great patterns for really lovely table runners, placemats and quilts!).
For crib size or smaller lap quilt: When you buy 1 1/2 width and take the extra half to cut on the fold and sew to the bottom, does the seam allowance make a significant difference in the size? It seems like it would be 1/2-1” smaller. Is that ok?
I’m having an awful time with this. I’ve looked at all kinds of videos about cutting up the backs, and I just can’t visualize it. Buy two widths? What does that MEAN? I’m so frustrated.
This is such a wealth of information on ow to calculate a backing amount without a lot of extra fabric left over… LOVED it!
WOW !! What an awesome tutorial!! Definitely have this saved in my library! thank you SEW much, I needed this !!
BTW I quilt my own tops on a sm quilting frame & this might solve some issues for me !!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is exactly what I needed. I’m a very visual learner so your quilt models were very helpful.
you are welcome and thank you!

I'd love to see some of your different backs a examples. And people steal your quilts? That's awful!
